Save that drama for yo mamma!

So let it be written, so let it be done.

Hotel Dusk doesn't count as "Hotel Dusk" is the North American name for Last Wish. Last Windows never came out in North America, therefore Hotel Dusk is the sole game in its franchise.

Wait, when did the rules change to "the game only counts if it came out in America"?
You misunderstood. "Hotel Dusk" never had a sequel. "Last Wish" did. Therefore the franchise is "Last Wish", not "Hotel Dusk".

303
Using those rules, several games need to be removed. "Earthbound" isn't a franchise, it's the American title of Mother 2. Wii Fit has only had one game. (Wii Fit+ wasn't a sequel, it was Wii Fit with some added mini games.)

The game Yoshi never had a sequel, nor did Yoshi's Story or Yoshi's Cookie. Yoshi's Island has a sequel, but the first game is actually just Super Mario World 2.

"Luigi" isn't a game, it's a character. Luigi's Mansion, however, is a franchise.

The image is accurate. Does it represent every American? No. Does it represent most Americans? Probably not. It does, however, reflect the lowest common denominator mentality that pervades American thought. I can write a long-winded post to detail what I mean later.

Me? I'll wait. If the PS4 decides to add backwards compatibility, they have this generation wrapped up already.
That literally cannot be done on the PS4 hardware. The PS4 has good specs, but not good enough to emulate the cell processor of the PS3.

I'm probably getting a PS4 if it doesn't have all these "no used games" cheap scams.
It will make some attempt at that. Sony and Microsoft (and Nintendo, to some degree) want you to switch to digital downloads. How can they force this? By making you either install your games from a disc or from their online shop.

Also
"The Xbox One will not require gamers to pay a fee to reactivate a used game, but it will require a regular online spot check to verify the authenticity of games being played, according to sources familiar with the system."

It also does not help that after Robot Arena 1 failed to do good so Infograms re-branded the IP as a bargain bin game
It was always a bargain-bin game. That's all Gabriel makes. Anyways, do we even know if Atari owns this game? The publisher doesn't always own the IP. For example, Nintendo published Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, but Rareware maintained ownership of the IP, which is why they have been able to make (and remake) Banjo games since their Microsoft acquisition.

Perhaps somebody should contact Grabriel Interactive and see if they still have the code and how the community can go about buying it.

Let's pray that someone picks up Robot Arena that actually cares about it. My hope is that it gets a Wii U release at the very least with online and Miiverse support.
Robot Arena is probably dead...

...but, perhaps the new owner could release an open RA2 on Steam?

They're kind of both. States all have their own sovereignty (which is why different states have different laws), but all agree to conform to a unifying federal government, which allows us all to pool resources and share a bloated military.

I agree with you two. IMO Nintendo needs to give the Mario franchise a complete year off and focus on giving its other and old franchises such as Earthbound, Metroid, Kirby, Kid Icarus, F-Zero and few others more attention otherwise the entire Mario franchise will be milked dry soon.

Oh and since we are on the topic of Mario, I LOL'd at Mario & Luigi Dream Team UK release date. Anyone who can guess why gets a picture of a cookie.
You realize that Nintendo is a large developer that's capable of working on various projects at a time, right?

The Mother series of games is usually made by Creatures Inc. (Pokemon) and HAL. Metroid has been made by Retro Studios (Donkey Kong Country Returns, Metroid Prime 1-3), Nintendo SPD 1 (Fusion, Zero Mission), NST (Metroid Prime Hunters, Mario vs. Donkey series, Wave Race), and Team Ninja (Other M). Kirby is almost always made by HAL. Kid Icarus just had a game on 3DS and is made by Sora (which is a small development group that is busy working on Smash Bros. for WiiU and 3DS with Namco-Bandai's Tekken team). The last two F-Zero games (AX, GX) were made by Sega.

Nintendo can deliver quality Mario games while still releasing games starring their many other popular characters.

To be honest I sort of agree with Powerrave here, Nintendo does kind of need to stop with this New Super Mario Bros stuff and make more varied titles, seeing as about half of their stuff is practically the same game, both mechanically and thematically, only with some different levels (which are still tired) and some different bosses (which appeared in the old games so they aren't really "New" either). Time is better spent on properly getting their spin off franchises or, I dunno, METROID going, instead of producing quite so many identikit titles. Stuff like Super Mario 3D land is good, likewise with the Mario And Luigi thing they're working on atm, so more of that would be preferable to yet another 2D platformer that doesn't quite match the quality of their old ones.
They make 1 New Super Mario Bros. game per console. It's not like Call of Duty where they make the same game every year.

I really wish Sony and Microsoft would at least release more details when they announce the new consoles. Honestly there is no point of announcing a new console if you aren't going to give a clear picture of it (Sony) or keep everything basically a secret (Microsoft).
You know E3 is in a few weeks, right?

There are a lot of Mario games, but 3D Land is probably one of the best. Hell, I like it more than Mario 64.
Ah, 3D Land's a really good one. Can't believe I hadn't checked it out until fairly recently actually- the Statue Tanuki costume's fantastic.
It was great in Super Mario 3 as well.
