then again my brain hasn't been functioning properly because it's been 10 years since rtz strim

That's a pretty decent use of 7 kgs, although I don't think it would matter much if that thing's a Havok bomb.

Assuming I understood the question correctly, it doesn't. Components that belong to the same robot have no collision issues unless the component is knocked off.

It's quite messy. The chassis is very heavy and bulky, try a V-shape instead. You also don't need the side armor. All you need to do is to expose the wheels (yes, that does present a weakness but it helps with retaining stability). Not being invertible is not that much of a problem with VSes, as the motor is usually strong enough to kick itself back up.

So yeah, it could be cleaner, but it's nice to see some creative solutions out of some problems.

It doesn't really matter what you build, if you're trying to stick it to the popups, you must have either annoying defenses (like HSes) or simple have better wedges. Take your time on the wedge and experiment some more if necessary. It's the harsh truth, but even good wedges are a requirement for good popup.

That aside, the blades aren't doing that much since you already have FSes for protection and the VS to flick bots away from your chassis. Ditch those and you could probably try out Snapper2 wedges, or just use some good ol' ramplates since those cover the front much better.

You don't need the plows. It gains its stability through fast spinning. You get DSA that way.

Pretty sure both slopes are at 45 degrees. Either way, its size hurts it a lot.

If you're absolutely stubborn about the setup, you have to be very efficient in space usage. Pull the drive closer together, and load out the snappers before attaching the black. Not sure if you'll get DSA that way, but you could ditch a ramplate and have the weight for more weapons and DSA.

You should really have more faith in your designs lol... We all make bots we're not pleased with from time to time. My latest design sucks balls.

But it can be, don't give up with it.

That's pretty much it. Cleaned up the thread because I don't want the whole page to look depressing.

Relax, you're doing fine. Not everyone can whip up a battle-worthy bot in less than 5 pages in a showcase. Take your time, wait for some advice, and rebuild. You will get it eventually. Nothing feels as good as finally having a good bot after countless rebuilds.

You could stack two discs and double the weapons. That belt protection looks sweet.

Try a tall pyramid-shaped chassis. That would fit the battery and the hinge.

Every time I try to build one of these things, I always end up with a single-wedge design that doesn't look as cool as I'd hoped. I could make it double-wedged, but it would usually underperform. :<

The DDT protectors look hella cool

what is it with people and 3wd these days lol

Looks pretty cool. Weird choice of frontal armor, though.

After a couple of minutes of testing, you should find out that it has terrible steering. Rammers love to have the drive as close to the middle as possible to for immediate response to steering input. Flip the drive around, and turn the pinks by 90 degrees and stack them (don't worry, pinks are one of the easiest components to stack). Then you can push the weapons closer to the middle.

The trick is to have the flails spin around really fast - that means either through crazy drive, or a mix of a strong drive and a strong weapon motor. That way, your flails still retain enough energy to whip back out after a strong hit.

If you're really concerned about the vulnerability of your wheels, just make your chassis wider and tuck your wheels in that way. It would turn faster while keeping your wheels protected. Alternatively, you can use snowplows to protect your wheels.

But yes, do download some AI packs and see how they're built. It's a quick way to learn the rock-paper-scissors effect between bot types and their optimal setups.

Cool stack. Would be better off with just a Snapper2 since it's a LW anyway. You could probably make the wedge longer and maybe extend the rear part of the chassis.
