Yeah I'm still learning how to use snapper loading efficiently (a 12WD rammer SSG?! Have you got a showcase I can see it in?). Many thanks for the vid, Sage I probably should have mentioned that in the original post. That's where I learned.
Lol I didn't realise that coincidence with Nightstalker IV but yeah as SSG said without the snowplow doesn't really count...

:(DOUBLE POST:( A new bot. I'm trying my hand at making a rammer. 8 Wheeled Terror With my recent learning of how to snapper load, this bot was one of my favorites to build. This is my first bot with 8WD (Hence the name). The only problem I have with it is that it doesn't always drive straight, sometimes it likes to drift around the arena (probably user error, I'm a terrible driver...). DSA armour. Vs Void Vs Bee Keeper Comments and feedback appreciated :D

On the other hand, Archimandrite might actually have won if its weapon spun a bit slower, so it didn't start tumbling right away in every fight. Such is fate. Point taken but I think it made my fights more interesting...

*Glad he's wired Archimandrite's weapon with a button*
I must have missed the stacked hammers on Blah and therefore underestimated it. It owned Daisy Might. I agree with Click in saying that the disc on Daisy Might needed to be stronger. I laughed at the headbutting between InfCon and Lu-Tze in the beginning of their matches. FarCry looks dangerous and Pinball even more so. Unlucky with Destroyer's weapon, Joe. It may have won you the fight if it was wired properly though, Mako 4 is deadly.

An interesting question Urjak... I think the correct answer to that is yes
Here's what I think: Damage caused by weapons is based upon the piercing and concussion values they have and most importantly, the speed the weapon is traveling at. I'm not quite sure how this relationship works mathematically but my best guess is this:
DAMAGE CAUSED = PIERCING + CONCUSSION * WEAPON SPEED
*Remember some components lack a piercing/concussion value because that is not what they are designed for. e.g. sledgehammers have no piercing value)*
That damage value is then transferred to the points tally.
This doesn't explain Somebody's problem of knocking BEAR's axes off with an extender. Extenders shouldn't have a piercing or concussion value so the amount of "damage" caused by an extender should always be zero and therefore the amount of points awarded should be zero.
But surely zero damage would do nothing? My formula for damage calculation must be wrong (i.e. there must be another value I've missed). The best person to answer this would be someone like madiaba.
That's just what I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Archimandrite = NINJA.
What does that mean? I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or not...

On another note, GO HUM-DRUMS!!
I totally agree. Hum-Drums look very good. You've given me some confidence for next round R0B0SH4RK but I've never faced a popup with Archmandrite V before. Judging on how Archmandrite V started all of his fights, you will win the first couple of blows and damage his chassis (quite badly if my under standing of popups is correct). If obZen lets him fall back on his wheels however, it may be all over for you...

GG Somebody :D. Least I went out (winners bracket wise) with a TKO under my belt which is better that I did in BBEANS. Hey, I hit your chassis (once)!!! I don't want to complain but my bot had VERY crappy starts (looks like I just did) THE HUMDRUMS WON???!!!???one!!!?? Steel Meatball looks frightening... ...I know for a fact that my bot is more stable than Archimandrite V was. That was always gonna be the case Joe. Your bot has a wider base of support that mine. EDIT: Crap, I've just realised I'm facing obZen in the losers bracket. Looks like the end of the road for me...

Yeah you've made your point. I suppose luck is involved to some degree...

Robots I have a chance at beating if I'm lucky
Archi (Again, the weapon will be easily avoidable, should I get underneath)
That's Archimandrite V to you... Your kidding, right? You seriously think your huge chassis will escape unharmed from a collision with my weapon (how would you avoid that ???). I suppose you put "if I'm lucky" there but that's beside the point. Getting underneath him from the front is nearly impossible but you may have more luck around the sides... Luck rarely happens in RA2.

The freely rotating wedge idea is amazing, big congrats to whoever devised it.
The freely rotating wedge idea spawned from Mako I believe (that's where I got the idea for the wedges on my RAW entry) so all credit goes to Jules for the idea. Are (some of) the drive motors under the robot? I may just be the angle the screenshot was taken but if so that hurts ground clearance and leaves your underside open to attacks from bots like WIIDE LOAD. Not a good idea. Other wise it's pretty good.

In that case, disregard my last question! :D ____________________ I'm using Omni at the moment to AI my RAW entry for future bot testing but the spinner doesn't start until the enemy has hit it. Any solutions?

My questions are: What is the best binding for a VS? How can I write my own binding?

« on: October 04, 2008, 07:49:33 PM »
OMG!! The disk of Archimandrite will not toucn Thor's chassis because of the the strong titanium sheets. The spinners reach off of the wedges anyway. Why do I have to face you now? Your bot seems like the perfect counter for my bot, unless I can get under you and hope to god you OOTA (which may happen once if luck is on my side which it clearly isn't). Can't wait for the Pyscolone v Madiaba match, it will be classic Other bots that got unlucky:Deprivator Lousy Launcher Lu-Tze Destroyer Shadow Bots that got lucky:Any bot that got a bye (esp. Lol I'm with you Joe. Archimandrite will either win the fight or catastrophically fly around the ring even OOTA if it's flipped or even unstable. I'm screwed if it loses a hammer.
