Still trying to make a good HW SOW with stock ...

still work to do yet !

bindings line look like that
Code: [Select]

    list.append( ("head on", "LaserGuidedV2",{ 'range':80, 'radius':2.5, 'servorange':2.8,'servonose':-1,'delta':0.25, 'servospeed':50, 'topspeed':99, 'mayFire':True, 'throttle':130,'weapons':(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9)}))

servorange : when servo is aiming and ennemy at servorrange -> fire
servonose : same idea as 'nose'  : take into account the fact that the attachement to the serbvo motor is not always in the original direction of the servo
mayFire  : Set to True if firing target are attached to servo.

Widowmaker: i do not believe much in this spinning swords, a good speed , big wedge and this bar on their middle -> perhaps all of this may reverse a bot.

Punisher: the attachement seems very light,  will it be a special whipper ? if yes, may does damage

HR-E: i've seen this before... but where ? , its brother have done very good results, so why not this one ?

Equal & Opposite: i agree with Nar : 'Too few weapons for being a powerful VS', anyway, may turn very quickly, good opponent

BLEVE:Click is something like the Leonard Da Vinci of RA2 : his inventions seems always crazy but in few decades pepoles will reconize the genious behind.

Li-ewl Terrier: many of its adversary lack of top defense, so this bot may be deadly

Arcarsenal: enfilad brother ? here again a clone of a bot that have prove its effectivness, bad luck for the others

Skirmish 3: Nar does many bots and takes time to test them, here again a potential winner

The Devil's Lime 2:  but why are there some many good bots !

Chizzle: i like the paint job, one of the best here,  but i do not really get the spinning spirit behind those vertical motor, i guess few stability troubles

Wegi: if quick may drop other bots out the arena... but not all of them i think.

Epidemic: i do not trust too wide whipper for they tend to be stuck in a corner . But, as long as it stand in the middle of the arena, this one may be unfriendly

Zapper 8.5: I found Reier have been one of the most quick learning builder on this forum. here again a good bot.

Razor III: Hey Mom, Hey Dad, it's mine here !

Spawn of Francium:  I like the name, i'm scared the bot

Titanium Chicken: hammers monnted on piston, i know a little about those horrors, this one is well-side protected

Grim repear: look like a nasty little thing : quick and compact, yuck !

I'll be pleased to enter too, even if i'm worst at Stock than DSL, when AIed, my bot do not beat Starecore ones very often, and in fact, they do not even beat them at all :-( but with luck.
anyway, count me in

here are variation of bots with servo motor.

these are RA2 Stock HW bots. Quiet effective against some Rage bots, they do not hold the  challenge against stareCore ones.

These should have been my Gumba entries if had not been so busy and distracted these times :

the ligt one : called 16+

and the heavy one  called 'Death or Glory' - i was listening to the Clash when i built it-

The burst original position is Up : this weapon is not made to flip the foes but to strike them if a bot with good wedge goes under it.

And if you want to try them :

thank's Mad, but i won't. I'm very busy with  stuff that not deal with RA2 this time. I will follow this tourney as a simple spectator, that will be a pleasure as it.

The Splash is beautiful !

I purposely made them easy (leaving extra space, using grey extenders, etc.) to make beginner builders feel comfortable. A very good pack to use before trying starcore.

Standard stock bots are for newbies only,

RFS bots as easy

i would qualify Rage bots as 'challenging', not so easy, and a very good pack to use before trying starcore indeed as you say.

and starecore bots as 'hard'

Sorry I'm taking a while, I'm working on 2 teams, and niether is up to standard IMO. So I'm modifying them each a bit. I can't decide which team to send. If you're short, I'll send both.

Why not sending the best of your 2 teams to Nar and than contact S32 to create a two builders-team with the other bots ?

i won't go against naryar's advices, they are always relevant .

I just notice the 'Reier robotics' on the bot, it sounds like toyota or general motors or one of these enormous factories. ambitious boy ?

it's better, but i 'm not sure you should go far in a tourney  with that bot yet.

first, like Naryar likes to tell it, avoid black battery.

Second, smasher (horizontal  burst motor) are very hard to build as deadly bot : compare to whipper (those which turns on themselve) they give hardest beat but so less often that they can't expect much victory.

Third, if you look at bots like 'enfilad'  (bbean) or deprivator (raw), you will see that they have much more weapons attached to there burst motor, each strike is thus more deadly.

So, how to do a good smasher ? well i don't know !

why not suggesting to ACAM a "BOT of the month "on this subject : heavy horizontal smasher : maybe we will see good innovation ?

what you should do to improve your bot is to raise weapon on its top (see
Psycho sweepr of Urjak in BBEan 4),  once you will  be under a bot, -> it will be hurt by these vertical weapons and  it should not escape while you cut its wheels with  your lateral strikes :  this is the idea of infernal contraption which forbiden any escape once it holds a bot.

anyway, i like you paint job.

i 'm coming back to RA2 stock so i download Starecore and Rage 2 in separate areas.

I've not been very far in the use of this RAGE pack, but what i can say yet is that it is well-named :
AWESOME !

I am very impressed by the amount of work ! i feel dumb in front of what yo've done,

 congratulation ! Bravo !

PS : I feel dumb but i have a question  : in a post in this thread, Sys32 talked about 'Realistic bots'? are they all realisitc ?

I was going to include your 'goon' coding, but haven't had the time yet. If you want to do that and append the title '..._goon' or whatever that's fine with me.

i will post it soon (i was on holidays )
EDIT 03/09 : In fact, i won't, not that i'm leazy but it is explained in a previous post   and i think it 's good that people, as long as they are intersted, try by themselve.  However, i will help anybody who meets trouble in his attempt.

All right if I use that Tazbot for DSL?  I've been intending to make its head rotate.

I do not feel owner  of Tazbot and even the AI has strongly taken a starting point from Mad works. So Feel very very Free to do, change or use whatever  you want.

how can you reach so much points without killing a bot before ?
is it your 'evil' side that make your bot so sadist  ?

nice record anyway.
