Those black batteries you are using waste weight because the amount of power they have is so close to a battery 5kg's lighter.

The large black batteries in the same dropdown would be a better choice for powering you bot.

The motors you used for drive motors were not intended for drive. Try the drive E-tecks in the dropdown menu with the other E-tecks.

Also why do you have air tanks in there? I don't see any flamethrowers or pnuematic rams in there.

Revised version. Preforms better and doesn't gyro dance as much. (yes I know it says Heavyweight)

I see you have changed your forum name ;D

I do not think that NAR AI should have its own section because it is so piggybacked off of DSL and other packs.

About the bot... Needs a wedge, and uses GHEY parts.

I changed my forum name because everything on this forum that I ever posted in showed up in google when I searched my bots name.

No about the bot. I could easily build this with a perm 80 and it would be comparable.

KLONE!!

plastic 3mm
4 ants

It works decently mostly subject to recoil effects and inability to wedge under anything at all. I'm undecided on what to do with the extra weight. (Somehow fit wedges on it or add heavyer weapons.)

EDIT: Should this even be in a DSL Showcase? It has NAR AI components and NAR AI is a different mod than DSL.

Speaking of motors, would this be any good? http://kineticbotparts.com/product_info.php?products_id=30

For a motor like that you need a brushless ESC (electronic speed controller) like this one http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-EFLA325H.html

They don't connect into store bought RC car RC interfaces so then you need to buy a new RC interface. http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-SPM5500.html and http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-SPM6000BR.html

After that you need a new ESC for the drive motor http://banebots.com/pc/ELECTRONICS/BB-0309 because you RC car one isn't compatible with a hobby grade RC interface.

So I recommend not getting that motor if this is a just for fun project because you will end up spending about $200. Also don't place your blade directly on the motor. It causes extra stress on the motors shaft and electronics of the RC car. If you were to get the Outrunner motor you would need a lot more than Electrical Tape to hold it down.

Battlebots fights are scored by 3 judges each with 15 points to give out.  5 points for aggression, 5 points for damage, 5 points for strategy.

*This is just from memory.*

Buddy Lee pushed turbo around the arena and kept it from spinning up which count for aggression and strategy. All turbo did was stay in one place and spin. Also I think Turbo's drive died about 1/2 way through the fight and couldn't show aggression.

I think it was a fair fight.

Not to mention moving the motors back will increase the pressure on the wedge(s) and make them better.

I tried that when I first built it but then I decided being able to piviot to get the weapon facing the other bot faster was more important than wedges.

Now time to go have fun with those multi extenders.

I've been working on a way to get rid of those pesky shell spinners. I know it probably looks kinda sloppy right now.

Name: The Spin Stops Here
Batterys: 4 PC625's and 1 ant
Weapons: 10 Beater bars on a beta burst
Drive: 2 Drive E-tek
Tite 3

It de-shell all shell spinners in Nar AI 2.3 and does decently against most SNS's and HS's. Fails against anything with a wedge becauses the wedges on it are bad.

Things that need work.

1. All the bots seem underpowered and run out of battery power 1/2 way through the fight.
2. The flippers need to be able to get under stuff. Some can't even get under a chasis without anything in it. (Parachute and Swedge are guilty of this)
3. If this is going to be a stand alone mod you might as well up the HP of flipper makers.
4. The crusher bot needs to be slightly faster to be able to be affective and also needs the ability to self right.
5. Mantis needs more durrable clamping arms.
6. Killertron crashes the game.

I could contribute bots to this if you want but I can not AI

Sorry about all the negative stuff

Thats for a lightweight to Heavyweight build. The Lightweight chassis weights about 30lbs. They used to have a featherweight kit. It is not really a kit it is more of a complete drivetrain. I know Team Hammertime used one in their middleweight SubZero.

Thats a 3lbs sumo bot. You could build a crappy beetleweight with that.
Heres a real baseplate
http://cgi.ebay.com/2024-T3-Aluminum-Plate-50-x-12-x-24-/320419599364?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4a9a7f1404

Edit: You aren't going to find any true pre-made bots where you just add a weapon and go. If you do not have capibility / abillity to make a baseplate for a bot you probabily can't make a weapon or armor either. Questions to ask yourself before you start your build.

1. Do you have ability to work with metal or plastic?
2. Do you have the tools?
3. Do you know anyone who has experience or tools who can help you?
4. Do you have a design or plan?

I use the Specktrum DX5. The Rudder control can be used to activate a lifter. The other one I suggested also has a rudder control as well so yes both would work.

This link should work http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-SPM5500.html

I recomend a Specktrum brand remote but if you don't want to pay for it this might work. It doesn't have mixing or any functions and I have one of these for a RC Airplane and it works fine. http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-GWS24TR.html

Did you even check out Kitbots.com? The kits are based on very competitive bots. Surgical strike is ranked #1 in the Hobbyweights.

Hobbyweight is the 12 lbs weight class.

For you no. You are in England right? If you are the ground frequency of 75mhz used in the US would be illegal. In England the frquency is 40mhz(?) I recomend a 2.4ghz spread spectrum remote and reciever from spektrum. Edit: http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0-SPM5500.html
