I'd have to disagree with TRiaS on that one. 101's weaponry wouldn't have packed the same punch as Cassius II's did, and I think it would have won on Aggresison, Damage and Style, if lacking a little bit in Control. Had it defeated Pussycat, I think it almost certainly would have gotten to the Grand Final. It did look like a very, very nicely built and elegant machine, but it did make a very early exit in that series, unfortunately.

And I would have LOVED to see that happen during the Grand Final. =D

Looking better. I wouldn't go for Technos, personally, I think it looks fast enough as it is, given that they're NPC Fasts. Plus they would take up more space, and mess up the balance you have at the minute. What I might do, is move one of the sideways-facing axles on each discs to the currently vacant central outward-facing space. When you spin around, some of the weaponry is going to be facing backwards, depending on what direction you're spinning.

24 per bracket seems like the most reasonable solution to me, if you're gonna do four weight classes. 32 per bracket, that's 128 robots, and it's going to move extremely slowly. 24 bots per weight class, with some three-way Loser's Melees somewhere down the line, I think. That's how I'd go about it. =) Or seeding, but that might be construed as unfair. We discussed the seeding system earlier, and people didn't seem to like it very much. Because a member might have been successful, but not very IRL, resulting in a higher seeding.

There was a discussion about this before, and it was decided that being able to send your entries before signups were open would completely defeat the purpose of a Signups thread. Otherwise everybody would send their entries early.

But I think JD's idea is the best one. It would inevitably generate a lot of bawwing as to "WHY WAS MY BOT VOTED OUT AND X WAS VOTED IN YOU ALL SUCK" et cetera, but it would probably be the fairest method to keep the tournament as open as possible. I think what we could do is limit the amount of weight classes people could enter, so all four tournaments aren't filled up with the same 16 people. If there was a limit to three weight classes, that would allow an extra few people to get some entries in.

TWM3R + Hypno drive. And the ripping teeth are static, they're part of the rear wing, which also helps with self-righting. Cutting tooth stops it flipping itself over when it's the right way up.

398.7 512x512 Skin needs tidied up, and probably a little more detail.

I tried a setup similar to AFHFV, and it didn't really work out too well. Axle mounts generally aren't stable enough for that sort of thing.

Toss Box looks alright, maybe it could do with being slightly wider, thus concealing the wheels inside the chassis.

Although Chaos 2 had the experience of building previous bots, and they used a bunch of the parts from Robot the Bruce and the original Chaos. Plus they scaveneged a lot of their parts from scrapyards, such as the polycarbonate and aluminium armour. And even they they had to add a huge chunk of lead weight at the front to stop it from kicking itself over. Mind you, some of their solutions were surprisingly cheap. They held the front "arms" down with elastic bands. :gawe:

But yeah, if you haven't had much experience, then it can get expensive.

Well played. I only managed quarter past two.

Also, Medium Cheddar and German Peppered Salami on toast is actually very tasty. :gawe:

It fires very well. Sometimes the trigger gets caught if it's not pulled back enough, but you just need to pull it a bit harder.

Also yes, that is my hair. :gawe: No-one else in my house has hair that long.

niiice o.o must've taken a while? XD

Yeah, took most of yesterday, and about another hour this morning to get it working. I didn't have all the correct pieces, though, but I managed to improvise in places. =D Fires somewhere between 10 and 15 metres, I think.

Bugger.

You've still got your 4th Seed spot, have you not?

Brick looks nice. Though I'd have used 40 to 20 pieces, rather than Beater Bars.

I think 128 is a bit much, yes. You could limit the number of weight classes a person can enter next time, to try and spread the spaces around a little more.

Holy razor tips, that filled up fast. At least all my bots were accepted. =D Looking forward to getting things going, hopefully this'll be a pretty good tournament.
