PG Porn's Roadside Assisstance...

This vid made me laugh pretty good.

Acams would appreciate the "engine repair" for sure.

Best part is at the end, worth watching.

thanks for your hard work on this Ian... that is gracious of you to re-do matches for them.
I am pleased with my match... My goal was not to die... mission accomplished.

Jackpot Deux and Pinhole will lose. The other's will do decently.

Haha, I can't help but agree... I really wish I could have found a way to fit more weapons on that bot... but I built it in 15 mins and really wanted to see if DSS would be beneficial in this tourney.

But yeah... if i lose my razors, I'm pretty much done for.

good luck to everyone though!

Edit: actually, after reading the rules, I don't think my bot will die the fastest out of the group... So I think it will at least score 1 or 2 points.  I think II's HS stands the best chance for this round.

I fooled around with making a few bots for BBEANS, but decided to just tweak an old favorite of mine.  It got crushed by Starcore in the All Around Bot Builder Competition, but after a few adjustments, it might do better now.

Edit: guess i can't count XP it has 16 iron spikes... not the 12 indicated in the splash. Man, too much drinking this weekend.

last time i checked, the bot doesnt have to be pretty O.o btw a HS has always won stock BBEANS... just build something you think might go well...anything!

I hope for the sake of change... that a different type of bot wins this time around.  Hopefully there are not a lot of popups... my bot does not fare well against those.

How did you win that match?... the screen shot makes it look like your bot is totally fubar.

Congrats with your success. Starcore v3 is an excellent test for sure.

Too bad there isn't one vacant spot in the main show...

that way we could have a pre-tournament for a wild card entry...

Congrats to those that made it in. Condolences to those that missed the show.

Existing Games / PS2 PAL games suggestions
« on: March 14, 2009, 02:04:28 PM »
Hey crew. I am having fun with my Swap Magic program for my Playstation 2. I pretty much already own all the games that I want for NTSC standard.

What are some great PS2 games that have been released for PAL that are not available for NTSC? All the new consoles are driving PS2 game values down, I want to hunt around and snatch them up while the market is weak.

Any suggestions you have would be awesome and I don't really need to hear the traditional "Lolz get a new console liek a PS3, Xbox or Wii."  I already have everything but a Wii (not interested) and PS3 (still too expensive)... Right now, for whatever reason, I seem to be dearly loving my Dreamcast and PS2 at the moment.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Even though I am not involved in this tourney... I just wanted to add my 2 cents to maybe help you all through a frustrating situation.

First of all... Thank you Mad, Sage, and everyone involved in making this tourney a reality. It takes time and effort to pull all of this off, and (frankly) there is little to no reward for the efforts other than a pat on the back from those who appreciate it.

It sucks that a slight oversight completely changes the landscape of the tournament but that happens.  For the sake of keeping everyone happy we should all accept the decisions made by the coordinators of the tournament and move on. If a final decision is made, please respect it and not complain or whine about the outcome and how it affects you solely. Just remember this is all for fun, if you lose because something was changed or an outcome was different, tough... suck it up and enjoy the next tournament. The coordinators do not need pressure when it comes to devoting their free time for putting together these things for our entertainment.

That being said, just have fun, relax.  If they have to redo the whole tourney, then they have to redo the whole tourney. (Which i would encourage, honestly)  Too many people have ruined tournaments because they cant stand to be without "winners pride" but, really, you should be proud that you built a cool bot and are participating in a great tournament with some of the most awesome people this side of the internet.

The key is to relax and have fun... if you focus on that... it will motivate people to host more tournaments in the future.

Thanks for reading.

Good Work! The battles are fun to watch. I never played DSL, but the bots look like they have a hard time doing damage to each other, certainly makes for riveting stuff.

Bravo.

This is definetly going to have to be bigger than 32 bots.

Please stop saying that... 32 Bots allows for a clean bracket competition with little mathematical frills and loops.  If you add more bots it makes the bracket system uneven and results in more "byes" and double fights.

People, don't bank on the number going beyond 32. Enter your bot quickly, first come first serve.

I speak from experience that having a match against a great builder such as Starcore is an honor and not a dread.

Edit: Yeah, I'm in... rusty... but in.
