I operate in a similar way, I reckon. =P Most of the time I try to be nice to people, maybe having some light-hearted banter as well. But if something comes up that I disapprove of, then I'll normally go on something of a rant. And if I feel like I'm completely useless, then my posting stuff tends to dry up a little bit.
Oh no, I was usually the opposite. I tended to judge people over a little bit of time, and generally if I like someone then i'll be friendly towards them, but if I don't then I tended to be somewhat of a douche  So yeah, that's how I operate, note the past tense as I think i'm starting to change on that, fingers corossed...

Erm, well I like them a lot more than slipknot atleast... Oh, you know when you love a band, but perhaps underlisten to and forget one of their songs? Well I just realised I did that with a particularly beautifull dream theater song: Now I know what you're thinking, shouldn't that be in the music ATM thread, but this song is in essence me,  probably this time last year actually. Now, that other DT song I posted before is probably far more suiting, what a diffeence a year makes ey?

Definitely. Although I must say, holding a comperatively high rep has really helped in me befriending some of the newer users on here.
Hmm, good point, I suppose if a newbie sees some-one with a low rep and some-one with a high rep, he's probably going to instinctively trust the person with the higher rep more.

It's not the rep so much I mind TBH, it's just the fact that some-one has decided to lower a number on my profile rather than speak to me about it. If it's because of something i've said, that person should bring it up, that way if it's something i've done I can rectify it. If it's because of conflicting oppinions, then it's there problem isn't it

There are other events around the Newcastle area however, Nottingham?
Perhaps, we'll see. At any rate, i'd have to organise it with some other people who I think would like to come.

Aww, diddums, as much of a nice way to go about things, I doubt it's going to happen. God, I never realised how easily music effects my mood, i'm listening to a very happy song ATM and that's making me focus on the good thing s in my life and the future, and also seeing hope that one day this forum can be like that Sorry for the random rant there, I guess I don't know whether to be miserable ol' me or incredibly happy  But I'd love to see a GTM where G.K and Cory can skip through the fields of the showcases, hand in hand, helping newbies along their way

Ofcourse, I think everybody agrees with you there GF, what I was pondering as I stumbled through the 3 or 4 spam/flaming threads going on ATM was how best to fix this problem.
And don't worry G.K, it's perfectly alright to do things like that as long as it DOESN'T effect those who you care about IMO.

Seriously though, since it seems that this thread has to be redirected towards the increasing amount of flaming going on elsewhere, how about we discuss it in a trully constructive way.
Now, we have a problem, we all know what it is, there are various routes we can take (or ask the mods to take) to fix or at the very least ease these problems.
What, and please discuss this in a reasonable manner becasue i'm at the end of my tether ATM, do you guys think is the best course of action?
