Thanks for your efforts Inf. Looks cool.
Ian is out though... what happens when a builder does not make a bot? Does he essentially forfeit the match? 2864

Hey wow, I was seriously just working on a mw bot very similar to that... but none of the attached wedges/weapons extended from the front like that. Very nifty idea. I was thinking though... could you somehow angle it so that the discs would shoot upward? I can only imagine that it would spell certain death if the discs were spinning up high and then retracted when a bot is wedge-scooped below. Instead of firing the weapon at the bot... let the weapon retract down onto the bot and grind away the commonly exposed topside.

Thanks for extending the deadline. I think the extra time will be most appreciated for those of us that have pretty busy lives.

I would rather see Bumble bee fight and lose, rather than see it voted off the island without a view of its possible glory or defeat. If we vote it out of the tournament, we are admitting defeat straight up.
If it wins the tournament people, wake up... this is the kind of evolution that makes us better builders. There are bots that can defeat Bumblebee... just like there are bots that can defeat popups, HSers, and the like. While, I too would be afraid of facing Bumblebee... I commend Sage for entering something different because he really could have entered just another dominant HSer. 2870

I'll enter... but i need a day or two to make a bot... Dang, I really don't want to be like everyone else and enter a HS. I would rather make something else, lose and be original.
Good luck working on the tourney. 2873

45-70 Magnum - Looks cool... probably deceptively more destructive than it looks... ACAMS' bots always seem to trick us like that. I don't think it will make it all the way though. The rear is the weakness, with fat wheels to boot.
Absolute chaos - Well balanced, damage protection via spinning weapons in all directions. Fast Popup might cause issues. Acupunture - Looks clean... but not mean. Anti-christ V.Pincer - Unique, I will give it that... but does not look like it will stay balanced after a few irons get knocked off. Big Flip's Revenge - can't wait to see how good these actually do. Black Cat Magic - I will say that I hope that this bot wins a match or more... I can respect Jeffrey's passion for realistic looking bots. Underdog FTW Blood Shed - tidy and brown... should do ok... but might get thrown around alot. Bounty Hunter - This is my pick for overall winner. I have mad faith in Pyscolone's popup talents. This thing is gonna frustrate a lot of builders. Bumble Bee - Sexual preference comments aside... I'm kinda surprised that nobody else entered a bot like this. Too bad too... I guess Sage is gonna have to absorb all the hate. Cardiac Arrest - its tiny... props for compact building. Chernobyl - couple maces off that bot and its gonna wobble like a drunk hobo. Should still do well though. Cocytus IV - I fear this thing... Though, side plows would have helped keep the victims at bay. It's still gonna kill a bunch though. Consonant/Vowel - Sorry... not going to last. Copyright Infringement - Does it fly? It is going to get a few wins for sure. Crawl Through Knives v4.2 - Brutal... I hope a popup sneaks between the wedges though... that would amuse me. Dark July - Decent rammer, might not be fast enough though... Death Dealer - Boxier than a Volvo... but looks like it can dish out damage. DGSG/IDRODI - not going far... just saying. 'Eavy Metal Boi - good attempt... but will fall to most of the bots here. gears your lever - Am I the only one that is massively amused by Man Manu's grammar? These are gonna die though, sorry man. Generic Rammer - Generic Rammer is Generic grinnin face - gonna die easy to any builder here that has been playing for more than a month. Gut Ripper 2 - Originality points +1 Effective design -1 Heaven's Sawmill - I just shat my pants... Thanks click. Hellbringer - Won't do a lot of damage straight off... but is built to fight as long as possible. Its main strength is that it is invertible. Insult to Injury V - exposed chassis = certain death... But if you are shooting for realistic looks... yay you! still gonna die though. Juggernaut Mk. 3 - I kinda like it appearance wise... but its gonna die quick, too bad too. Why waste such a pretty face. Mace in da face - speaking of faces... look at that little thing! it is going to be hard to hit that chassis... Best Rookie submission of the tournament. Mjormei - Oh that thing looks fun! It wont go all the way, but I'm going to root for it. No Hype 5 - pretty colors... if it is fast... its going to piss off a lot of bots. watch out. Oscillation Overthruster - might get a win or two... but could be built better. PITA 8- clean, i like it... i bet it hurts bots pretty good. Could go all the way. R4 - clean... but looks cooler! Ha! could go all the way too. Red Radar - no wins for you Revenge Of Dr.Wham - kinda cool... might win a couple. SandStorm - looks intimidating... but not enough weapons to go all the way. couple of wins perhaps. Seism 13 - Does not look like much... but rumor has it... it is smart as all ![]() Shock Therapy - im looking at abstract art here... wont do enough damage to win though. Spearhead - Oh i hate these things... a few wins for you if it stays pointed in the right direction. Popups will prolly pwn it though. Stratocaster - This bot will ram hard... very well built. handful of win. SurgicalStrike - bleh T-800 Terminator - Starcore's rank number just went up... enough said. The Baby Warrior - Ohhhh man i think we are all drooling to knock off those wheels soooooo bad. Bring it on! the black plague - This bot will grow unstable... fast. The Emancipator - I like it... i think it will do decent. The Fang Brothers - wont fare well... sorry... see you next tourney. Three Kings - spiffy, original, cool looking. It has my respect... but might not fare well. Should get a kill somewhere. Triple Play - Keep practicing kid... Trojan Horse - not bad... HS'ers will eat those sides quick though. We'll see. Tsunami - blue Shadow Tryant - kinda boring... but i like the double e-wedges... that will do well i think. Vela - Dude! your drive motor is undone! zip it up! Vetearn (typo?) Destroyer - Interesting... I'm curious to see it in action. MY TOP 5 Cocytus iV Bounty Hunter Bumble Bee Spearhead PITA 8 2874

Well, looking at the sheer scope of how big BBEANS is shaping up to be. It might be a good while before that is finished (I'm thinking about a month).
I will try to think of some good suggestions soon... right now I am too tired to really think about much. and... Wow... Man Manu spoke a lot of words... mostly coherently. Bravo! 2875

If you have not had your wisdom teeth removed, they might be causing pressure on the back of your jaw, which can be very annoying and painful.
That is... if you have wisdom teeth. 2876

Favorite: Survival
Why: Because the house bot was designed perfectly to be dominating, but still beatable (congrats SD). It totally reminded me of Robot Wars when Matilda was actually defeated... or when Sir Killabot was tipped over. Excellent stuff, really riveting. Almost Favorite: Beat the Box Why: Because it pretty fun to watch the box get damaged... Next time, make the box have a lot of extenders and useless parts so that we can watch tons of parts fly. I think you should design a bot that has tons of useless crap attached to it and see which bot rips it to shreds first. Almost least favorite: 2-1 challenge Something about this round seemed kinda boring. I don't know, just wasnt exciting. Least Favorite: Tilt This challenge depends more on the environment than the actual bot itself. I'm not a big fan of the tilt arena as it is, mainly because it's a PITA to navigate with most bots. And it ends up resulting in some cheap deaths. Even though my bot did well on this challenge, I still am not a fan of it. Hope this helps man 2878

You are doing the AI?
Excellent... I would like to enter thanks. Any chance you can give us an idea how long we have to design and submit bots after the guidelines are issued? 2879

Awesome, I am pleased with how my bot performed. It essentially did what I had hoped... though total-epic-failure at BTB was not totally expected.
Congrats on the top 4 finishers! Excellent tournament. Thanks for all your effort Ian. 2880

I think system is asking about the multibot still on the platform.
And, no... I think Ian stated in the rules that Multibots lose if one of the two is taken off the platform. Something like that. |
