Site News and Feedback / Re: how does one achieve Veteran status?« on: July 28, 2010, 09:52:17 AM »
Veteran status SHOULD be warranted by building or modding skills. It IS an RA2 forum after all. Being here super long is no warrant by itself.
I also think Veterans should be somewhat scarce so they actually mean something. Personally I think RObO and Scrap deserve it as well. Not necessarily. You and Scrap are twice the builder JD is, in both DSL and stock. Even if he's been around long. Just my opinion. 2843

Plows have low HP + destroy invertibility + hard to fit.

No no, that's for MY skin pack! But you can do something similar. I just found a cool wheel on google images, cut out the hub, and then found a better tire tread to use that matched the hub better.

I decided to go with caster armor instead of wedges, so that should help a little. Also, the razors are very close to the ground, meaning they will eat a popups weapons and such (at least that's the plan)

Stock Showcases / Re: Sage's Showcase« on: July 28, 2010, 02:16:43 AM »![]() Thought I would take the undercutting RADS a step further. I have to redo one of the motors because the tribar collision went weird and pushes the bot up a bit every time it spins around, so no testing as of now. I'm guessing it will be fairly good though. I know it looks a little messy but i couldn't get the tribars all the same direction and the drive motors would AGOD in any other position. 799.7, DSA, 8 RADs, 2 Blacks, and 17 casters (i think) Enjoy :) P.S. I thought you guys would enjoy seeing my new granny wheel skin... ![]() 2848

Besides frezal and sorrow, Veteran is for people who have been respected for modding and/or bot building during their time. At least that's my take on it.
You should definitely be an advanced user at least, and I bet if you built something besides AWs and LWs Veteran should be within reach for how long you've been here. Personally I think RObO and Scrap deserve it as well. 2851

Happens to me too sometimes. I think theres a better tutorial on servo boosting on the Wiki, but I'm not sure.

rammer/undercutter? *c
Yea turn the snapper around so the drive is just behind the snowplows. It will look cooler & move better. 2853
Stock Showcases / Re: Sage's Showcase« on: July 27, 2010, 07:12:59 AM »2 RADs can chew up HW chassis? o_O Well sorta. They definitely damage it and the pokers go in for the kill. Bot's pretty much worthless against HS though. Shame. My next bot will do better against them (already planning it :D) And yea. If I ever have a lot of free weight on a popup or something I'll add those two RAD spinners. Deicide = act of killing a god. thought it was a cool word. 2854

Stock Showcases / Re: Sage's Showcase« on: July 26, 2010, 04:02:24 PM »![]() Great wedges. Those undercutting RADS are probably the best thing ever. They eat wedges and wheels for breakfast and then chew on the chassis for dinner :) Those baseplate anchors that hold the pistons are stacked in the snappers O.o took forever to get them even. Sorry bout the poor picture quality, my photoshop messed up xD tell me if you cant see anything. 2857
DSL TC Showcases / Re: The showcase of Defiance« on: July 26, 2010, 11:27:36 AM »
You could mount the extender sideways onto the axle and put both razors on one. Axle wedges used to be great but are much outdated now. Try using hinges.
