It's 4WD Astro & Wide Ant. I couldn't get a decent shot without the weaponry obscuring the front wheels.

Success! Chassis height is now low enough (Thank you Naryar and Search feature :gawe:), also gave it a 512x512 skin, which I might need to tidy up around the edges a little bit.

397.5.

ty was just on BBC News.

Explain immediately.

He was being interviewed about these protests due to funding cuts.

I see. Any particular reason why they chose him to interview?

My take on the new "motor-on-top" IRL design.

Will look better once I figure out how to BFE chassis height.

Sally Acorn

I don't understand

Neither do I. She said, quote, "I always have a plan". I can't really read into that too much.

I might say I'm more like Tails, in the sense that I'm a scrawny <expletive>, I'm quite mechanically-minded, I'm slightly introverted, and I'm a nice guy for the most part. Only I can't fly.

I don't get the motor system. D:
It would be a hollow axle that allows the wiring to pass through for the motor, and the blade goes around that. Similar to how Ziggo's flag worked, but slightly different. This is a decent image to show what I'm on about, spoiler'd for page length.

My girlfriend says I'm like Sally Acorn. Personally, I haven't a clue who I'm like.

Basically everyone from Round 2 who didn't get to the Semi-Finals. I think.

Does look very nice. I should try something like that. I'm not a fan of the hammers, personally, but it looks quite nice apart from that.

That's mad. But fantastic. Although slightly too tall and narrow for my liking. Excellent work on getting the shape correct, though.

General Support / Re: Creating AI: Couple Questions
« on: December 17, 2011, 08:07:18 PM »
With Sit and Spin robots, sometimes the control names are quite unusual. I had this problem when I started AI'ing, the control that's usually named "Forward" on a normal robot needs to be named "Ahead" for some of the FBS python files. Make sure your control names match up with what the .py files need to use.

The Weapon values basically determine how many components need to be knocked off before your robot reverts to Shove tactics. The numbers determine which components need to be knocked off, but what I do is open the .bot file up in Notepad++, and just count the components downwards. I can't get apanx's bot exporter to work for some reason, something to do with a DLL file missing. I'm trying to work on it, but it's not really holding me back any.

Hope this helps. =)

Back to regular DSL for a bit. Trying to put together a rammer team for NAR AI, so far I have Puncture III, Crab Salad IV, and the newly designed Bear Trap.

NPCF's, 2 ants, Tite 5. 397.3. Poly skirts keep it stable and stop it tilting forwards, thus it is fully invertible.

I would swap for a Perm 132 S. You might lose a bit of power, but you get 20 times the HP of the motor you're using at the moment. What you could also do is attach the Flipper Segments directly to the Halfsheet with the AP on the back, so you could attach the drive motors and stabilisers directly to that, and eliminate the Alu extenders from the equation, saving you another 6kg to spend on something, maybe upgrading the armour.

Also, the side panel on the back seems a little pointless, in my view.

I told you to give TB invertibility in the AI!!!1
He did, you could see the bot moving around, and hear the motors going.

when you don't give an invertible bot "invertible" bindings, It just struggles around.

No it doesn't, it just sits there. Besides, you could still hear Tracer Bullet's drive motors, meaning it was trying to move. It wouldn't have done that if it didn't have an "invertible" line. And your bot was definitely moving backwards and forwards, just not enough to avoid the immobilization counter.
