These are impressive! I understand most of them started out as clones, but that is certainly a good way to learn and I'm sure you'll be able to come up with some good original bots in the future. As you said, the next step in improving is to learn stacking and snapper loading which can save lots of weight on heavier bots such as these. Specifically, with snapper loading you can replace all the servos in your bots with blue snappers (other than the one holding the tribar) which are not only lighter but provide two attachment points.

Drum: Not sure which version this was based off of, but I recall one of the more well-known Drumblebee iterations had a self-righting stinger at the back; your bot should also have some way of flipping itself if it gets inverted. I suspect the blue snapper wedges won't be strong enough for that. I also question the use of razors for such an exposed weapon and the granny wheels
Juggler: See, in this case razors are good because they will either not get hit or are grinding another bot's underside. The e-wedge is efficient in terms of weight vs. area covered, but I think a ramplate would be better since it can cover the extender that it's attached to, leaving the setup less exposed. Same goes for the lawnmower blades; it doesn't look like their length is being very useful so try ramplates or raised casters (which are invincible). Again, don't think blue snappers can self-right well
Popup: Not sure if this one is actually a clone. Anyway, the rear plow is not that useful but you can keep it since you have so much extra weight. With the other 36kg, maybe try adding plows on the side to protect the wheels or add more weaponry?

Please try to give us some stats for your bots as we can't see everything all the time. Number of weapons, number of drive motors, number of batteries, armour, etc.

Edit: Here is another good track. I've actually never played these games but I knew their soundtracks were godly

you thought wrong, here's one i made just now:

i have an improvement to make

This is just before I finish up the rebuild of the robot. I was wanting to ask;
(Image removed from quote.) (I'm not showing the whole thing yet.)

I turned the wedges upside down (180 degrees) so the wedge wouldn't be as steep, and therefore they would be more effective at getting in underneath other robots (theoretically.) Is that right, what I've done there? Is it better to do that or to have them the right way up? Or does it not matter either way?
Honestly no one really knows how wedges work other than snapper+extender+small wedge with no other components is the best, though even that can fail (see BBEANS 5). My gut tells me that the steepness really shouldn't matter, but what does matter is that if the wedge is upside down like that there is a chance that when pressure is put on it by the chassis, the bottom right vertex touches the ground without the left vertex doing so which would be pretty bad.

Here's another angle on the AW, I don't think it's too bad

No Trov chassis, but I might use it for another bot on the team. Here's the blueprint

More Stock!

I was looking at the Starcore v4 bots for some nostalgia and decided to start another themed team, AW to SHW. It'll be a good way to brush up on my skills in each of the weight classes

Wedgy...grinder? Scraper? Two pinks and plastic

And a sawbot, because sawbots are cool. Also plastic

Gonna try to get creative with the rest of the team, stay tuned

Looks great, I always like these gotta go fast flippers. Kinda surprised it can OOTA HS since they would seem to outrange the length of the wedge. Does the high-mounted DDT just help it flip better, or does putting it in the snapper setup cause havok issues?

Kids like you should be playing OFF.
What is this about? I always hear people recommend this and LISA.

Anyway, I absolutely love this game. I'm always amazed that the creator, who had barely any coding experience, did most of the development using Game Maker, Paint for sprites and backgrounds, and his creative mind. The music is outstanding especially, though it suffers a bit in terms of gameplay and graphics. My picks are An Ending, UNDERTALE, Death by Glamour, and Finale.

Currently about to date Papyrus in my replay of pacifist. Preparing for lotsa spaghetti, but I can't wait to get to the true lab. It's been really long since I last played that area and those VHS tapes have so many implications

By the way, did people like Alphys? She always seems to get a lot of hate; sure the constant calls were annoying but she's pretty funny and I think I liked her better than the fish. Also the people who have replied seem to either not have enjoyed the story+characters very much or are just embarrassed to add anything because of tumblr being tumblr

Site News and Feedback / Re: rep
« on: April 04, 2016, 10:07:48 AM »
What do we do then?
Resetting rep isn't an answer if your argument for rep being important is that new guys make judgements based on it as then anyone new will see literally everyone on equal footing.
Well, that's only temporary unless by resetting you mean removing.

I don't think the rep system is flawed, IF the people who can do it follow the guidelines. Like Mr. AS mentioned, ranks do a better job of measuring lifetime contributions, but I like being able to see how appreciated some of the regular members are and I'm sure new people would too. Yes it is somewhat of a popularity contest because that's the basis of the system, you will get rep if those who can rep like you (which I think is fine, I value being able to see who is liked) but also for legitimate contributions or achievements. It especially shines in the case of underappreciated users without a rank (Geice) who would be otherwise indistinguishable from others like them. Sure, Sage wouldn't receive rep for posting a typical bot while a new user might get +3 instant rep for a Sage-level bot, but Sage is already an established builder with recognition as a Veteran and from the GTM Awards (he also gets rep every now and then anyway). Rep should be a (more subjective) complement to ranks, not a replacement.

Empty space makes me cringe...this does seem like the best version so far though. 124.6 and Steel 1.

Can someone explain why all the wiring is backwards in this game???

Might as well do the same for the snappers so that it's more stable.
Can't without snapper loading since the Redbirds are in the way. Will probably build an actual Stock version of it at some point.

I was thinking you would rotate the anchors so the Redbirds are on the outside, rather than in the center gap.  Bot is no longer narrow.
Ah...

I like the look of it when the weapon motors are covered by the chassis though, so I'll probably still submit one of the first two.

Here's an update with Aluminum 3, 124.4+50. Definitely more destructive but pretty unstable...if there were slower drive motors I would be happy to use them

You did have a non-invertible one way back.

Yay for productivity neigh for rain.

246.3 and DSA. Front anchor is slightly exo-stacked.

Always wondered what neigh for rain was supposed to mean lol

THIS GAME HAS TOO MANY COMPONENTS!!!!! AND THEY ALL LOOK THE SAME!!!!! HOW DOES THIS WORK

Here is my LW VS (124.2 + 2x50 kg, Steel 1) that I miraculously won an in-game tournament with, though I almost lost to JaDeD in the last round.

So coming straight from Stock, are there any new bot types in this mod? I think something called flail shell spinner is popular in DSL? Also are the in-game AI built IRL or Standard?

Looks great, you should be able to handily beat Stock MWs with that. The only thing I can advise is to save weight by reducing empty chassis space to upgrade the weapons and get HPZ drive. Try moving the two back anchors to the space behind the centre anchor; splitting the black into two Nifties might help if you want symmetry.
