Other Tutorials / How to get a N64 3D level into a RA2 arena« on: April 15, 2012, 09:54:33 AM »
NOTE: I DON'T HAVE EVERYTHING SET UP, SO THIS IS UNTESTED. ANY FLAWS YOU FIND, TELL ME AND I'LL FIND A WORK AROUND.
You will need: Everything in the video in the description. -N64 Emulator -Video Plugin that lets you rip -Blender (www.blender.org , freeeee) -ROM (Unless you own a physical copy, you can only have it for 24 hours, but you can delete it and get it back.) -Image software Tu turn it into a RA2 Arena -Autodesk 3DS Max, Educational Version. (you need to put in some info, but it's freeeeeeeee) Step 1: do everything in the video. It's made for papercrafting but it works. And instead of the Toad model, do the enviroment. Then, export it into a file readable by 3DS Max. (Try .3DS ![]() Step 2: Import the level into 3DS Max. Add starting points, all the necessary data, and maybe even hazards (Hazards are optional.) Then export, turn it into a .gmf, and make the .map and .py, use the make the textures compatible with RA2, and you're done! Buy yourself an ice cream, you worked so hard! Please reply if you have problems with step 1, and i'll get back to you. If you have problems with step 2, ask a good moder with a candy username. Video: 284
