Yeah I got it right then :)

And wow you guys really have the measurements figured out, but anyhow Teeth has been set aside for the moment and 4 hours in I can proudly present:

Teeth v2!!
Teeth v2 is basically my initial robot 'Teeth' but revamped for competitive play and I hope to test him out in online matches.

Features:

- 6x Iron Spikes
- 2x Tribars on HP Zteks mounted with razors
- 2x Supervolts batteries, stacked for space
- 4x HP Zteks for drive
- A much better 'use of space and weight'
- Much more effective weaponry
- Invertible (thanks to the N12 wheels even with the Ztek sticking up)
- Side armor to shield wheels (note the spike when I ran out of weight)

Problems:

- Rather high ground clearance
- Exposed top and bottom
- Weak back end

Screenies:

Inside the robot teeth, much cleaner IMO

A view of outside the robot, custom paint job with eyes :P

Explanations:

Although it looks ridiculous the N12 wheels allow this bot to not be completely useless when flipped as the wheels keep the bot moving, however, by using N12 wheels I have to use grannies to properly gain 4 wheel drive (shinies dont quite reach the ground with the N12's lift).
The original design was a rammer with 9 iron spikes but, I have opted for 6 with a much more devastating spinning weapon using the ol servo glitch to maxmise space and damage potential.

Lastly I managed to stack the supervolts (probably the most time consuming thing of all) and there is a total of two batteries in the one spot, I'd rather not edit these.

The armor is the DSA kind and offers a nice amount of protection.

As I began building this bot up I had 4x spike strips to protect the wheels on either side, but the weight limit dawned on me and I had to use poles on the most protected parts (that wouldnt need as much protection, and for symmetry). My old robot weighed in at around 600KG and so this bot far exceeds the weight distribution which I hope makes you lot happy :)

Anyway I think thats about all I can say about it, all comments are welcome but im probably going to be reluctant to try and tackle editing this thing as its only my second bot and this was a pretty dawnting project for me.

Cheers in advance and let me know what you think of the new weaponry.

I just downloaded the AI components pack from the downloads section that includes components like the ninja star and emergency's flipper, but also a 'snapper II burst motor' and I was just wondering how effective it was compared to the original snapper burst motor and the DDT motor?

drums which requires no precision at all ;)

I have not found that to be the case.

There is keeping time, keeping a constant rhythm going and being able to use all four limbs at the same time do different moves, but other than its just hitting pads :P

Yeah it is invertible, and yeah I'd say its fairly interesting lol.

And I dont use photoshop, couldnt use it if I tried, I use Adobe Fireworks, I find it more user friendly and easier to understand.

ah makes sense, me and my brother usually have a 5 min time limit or even no limit we both have particular damaging weapons.

I just assumed the more batteries you had the longer you would last in a game, is that not the case?

And ok sticking with DSA... :)

I might leave this as it is acting as a prototype and then perfecting something based on this as a more competitive bot in which il be a lil more 'careful'.

Howcome pinks are so bad? I couldnt fit any other battery in so surely 1 pink inside is better than less weight?

Its DSA armor, I suppose I could switch to Steel to increase weight if need be

and thats some pretty insane spike layout going on there o.O

Thanks for the comments :)

So I decided to create a showcase for my stock robots as suggested and I thought I'd start up with 'Teeth', a rammer robot that I built to take on my brothers 3x FS (Face spinner is that right here? The one where a Z Tek is in the position where it would normally be used as a drive motor but a disc is placed on instead of a tyre? Sorry am new  )

Anyway this bot won only losing one iron spike. It was also the first robot which I experimented with the custom texture thing and I think it turned out nicely, anyway I know your not going to approve of the allignment of all the inards as it isnt pixel perfect, but it works and I think its ok for a first, it has never been used competitively either so whatever, below are inside and outside shots.

Features:

- 9x Iron Spikes mounted on the front for main attacking purposes
- Invertible, so being flipped is not a problem
- 4x Spike strips mounted along side the tyres to offer some protection to the exposed tyres
- 4x HP Ztek motors that offer a strong enough ram power but it could easily be stronger

Problems:

- Limited weaponry
- Vulnerable back and top
- If a flipper balances him on his side there is nothing he can do about it
(although this has never happened and the iron spike pointing at angle would make this incredibly challenge to balance it)
- Lots of unused space inside
- Probably more but they're all I can come up with

Anyway here are the snapshots:

Inside the robot teeth, note the un-alligned Zteks and base anchors :D

An outside shot of the robot teeth, note the custom texture on the top, im happy with him overall :)

Comments appreciated and please dont be too harsh... Cheers.

Right thanks for the welcome all.

I've checked that clickbeetle website out and was having a lot of fun with stacking and creating some pretty beast spinners and I think il start working on something a little bit more competitive.

And thanks for the jargon link sage, good ol havok explosions... wondered what the name for them was lol

Anyway il start up a showcase and hope to hear from some of you soon enough.

Hey everyone here on gametechmods,

I couldnt find a general 'welcome to the forums' kind of page so I thought I would announce myself in the news section, if you count gaining a new member useful news then awesome, but if not, whatever, burn me if you must.

Basically I used to play robot arena a while back when I was 12ish and have been playing on and off and assumed it was a fairly inactive game and it was just a laugh for me and my brother to go head to head with our various creations; but I stumbled across this forum, got the latest patch and downloaded the starcore and DSL packages yesterday although they randomly stopped working today, un-sure why...

Anyhow I think this is gna be a nice place for me an my brother to pick up some tips from the pros, also im a complete terminology virgin here so if somebody could lay down some of the commonly used phrases thats used that'd be awesome :)

Cya around.
