Nobody in their right mind would put polycarb sheets on a bot like that IRL. (change them to aluminum and I will forgive you. )
Oh all right, I'll swap em' for aluminum. :P I'd be slightly worried about the whole drive being held on with exposed flipper makers. Could you drop down to Techno wheels and cover them. It also might make it look better.
Honestly, I am not all that concerned about them coming off, as no bot I have tested against (and this is NAR AI) has been able to get to flipper segments before they just destroy the legs themselves. However, I do worry about the wheels, so the extra HP of the Overkills helps resist attack, as well as not sticking as far out as technos do. EDIT: Made the changes you guys recommended (kept the Overkills though): Enjoy.

Hello Everybody! Here is my entry for Battlebots 3, Totality: Totality is an SHW Nightmare-style VS with a dual perm and two 70kg hammers for weapons. It is driven by two NPC fasts with overkill wheels. This is probably my favorite IRL style bot that I have built, and it is fairly effective in combat as well. The steering is very fast, thanks to the wide stance, but with some AI tweaking I was able to prevent it from flipping itself over. Speaking of which, the bot can self-right, though if the weapon is stopped while upside down it will be immobilized. It is fairly stable thanks to the steel and polycarb sheets. Armor is Steel 10 to make the chassis as heavy of a ballast as possible. Any comments would be appreciated. :D

I'm reasonably confident I can beat Urjak. 30,000HP should withstand a good amount of hits from the weaponry, and I should be able to take the DSL disc off with a few shots at most.
Oh those were the days, when popups could actually beat my shell spinners... but alas those days are over. Seriously, you would be the first popup to remove that disk, let alone KO him. I look forward to meeting you in the arena.

Also, lol at the fact that when someone repsected says what I've been saying the entire time, everyone agrees with them.
Well... I guess I just said it a bit more compact and more clearly than you did. I still don't really agree with Urjak, personally, but I'm glad to see this has reached an agreement. Let's hope the tournament runs a bit more smoothly now.
Oh you! Anyways, it is good to see that a compromise has been reached.

Urjee wins again! Now Bane, if you only could have done that in the main bracket.

I have read over this thread... and find myself slightly agreeing with Preytor. The fact that Jonzu said "Realistic" in his rules, and not IRL realistic, then Preytor's bot was, at that point, legal. Then, AFTER Preytor sent his bot, the rules were "clarified," by that I mean popups were banned and weapon stacking was forbidden. In my opinion, these rules are additions, and not merely clarifications. Imagine is someone was hosting a DSL tournament and the rules said, "Realistic" suddenly stated, after he got several entries he didn't like, that his definition of realism doesn't include a bot using razors. I guarantee you that many people angry at Preytor right now would be outraged.

Meh midpack. Do you have the overall rankings anywhere?
Fairly confident I'm #1 in the Global Rankings... at least I better be.

Man... that puts my SHW to shame, at least in aesthetics. Very nicely done.

In all honesty, you really shouldn't put the names of the bots people entered in the signups (unless that's some new rule), simply because many people recognise the bots' names (particularly Somebody's and my own). It sort of takes away from the mystery and could allow some builders to unfairly tailor their bots.

Ok n00b question but what does IRL mean?
In Real Life.
A bot that could be built in real life, as in: no intersecting except through the chassis and to component can intersect with a nother component regardless if you could cut a slot into it.
(right?)
Not quite. There are not set-in-stone rules, but it has to be in the spirit of real life combat robots, particularly no weapon spam or micro chassis or snapper wedges.

Urjak (Bane series)
Yup, as long as my name brings up images of FSS then my job has been successful. But yeah, as far as signature bots are concerned, you must think of the builder, and have your mind go right to that bot. In my opinion, most builders, particularly those who build many different (like others have said), don't have a signature bot. Starcore, Scrap, Pwn, G.K., Naryar, R0B0, Click, Joeblo, NFX, ect. don't have a signature bot, at least in my mind.

Nightmare was an angled VS..... after it fought SoW :P
^Win. But yeah, I don't think there are angled VS out there, nor is the design itself all that good.

I mean one that's @ 45 degrees. not like a very slight angle.
Nonsense. I showed you that the angled spinner bot type exists. Just because I can't find one at 45 degrees doesn't mean that it isn't a legitimate IRL bot design. I am pretty certain RA2 IRL building allows for you to build designs that you can't find a carbon-copy of in actual Robot Combat. As long as you can find a similar real life design, you should be able to change it up a bit.

Angled spinners are banned until someone gives me an IRL example of one.
