You are not ready to make an AI pack. Consider this a benchmark: If you can make some bots that can beat AI bots in the Starcore AI pack then you are ready to challenge the forum members with your bots.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but you need a lot more practice before anyone will take an AI pack from you seriously. Work on your skills first please.

It's not that it's I can't get a right angle to connect them even when I try something besides disc like connectors with weapons it won't allow me to connect when they are supposed to connect???.I can't use zoom because like I said I'm using a laptop and have no mouse??? most laptops currently have a "scrolling" section on the right of the touchpad. Should be some little arrows on the right of the touch pad that allow you to zoom just like a mouse would let you. Sometimes if you get the part to mount but it still shows as red... try rotating it slowly and see if it turns regular for mounting. If the game is glitched (which can happen) Maybe close out of Robot Arena and start it up again. It is kinda hard to picture what is going wrong there, but I hope you manage to get it to work.

Getting better. Try to keep your chassis as small as possible... Try to use Shiny Hub Wheels as often as possible... Don't expect the chassis to be a decent wedge unless you are making a popup. The chassis is the heart of your robot... protect it as best as possible by making it small... try to build your bot around and outside the chassis with extenders and burst motors. Any exposed chassis parts will leave your bot vulnerable to massive damage.

Can you replace the discs with smaller ones and see if it all fits that way?

[Edit] I also can't figure out M.A.D. Machine's weapon setup.
Long story short, I got lazy... I hacked the bot together in about 15 mins. I could not get the extenders to allow me to point all the Irons outward, so i just just threw on a bunch of extenders that would allow me to put as many irons as the weight limit would allow. Looks messy, yes... I probably could have done a much better job on the bot if I didn't rush it. It will most likely fall to the Popup... unless the smartzone triggers at just the right time so the popup gets a mouthful of caster armour, it might stand a chance.

"Stacking" batteries is basically making them intersect - which they simply cannot do in real-life. Therefore, stacking batteries isn't legal in any currently known DSL tournaments. Yeah viper... I think we might have confused you on the whole "stacking" bit. In real life... you can put one battery on top of another and stack them like a tower (like bricks) This is realistic and allowed. In Robot Arena... there are glitches in the game that allow you to put two batteries in the same space. One, technically, inside the other. This is not realistic. You can simply put one battery inside another in real life like the glitch allows you to do. To exploit this glitch in the game is called "stacking". For DSL stacking is a nono for components like batteries and motors, because it just is not physically possible for those to run in real life like that. Hope this clears things up.

are u kidding me give me a break I got to change it again if it was really that bad wouldent have showed up red when I was putting them on ??? When the game makes the component red it means it can't be mounted on that point. The problem here is that DSL bots in this competition need to be realistic in the "pass through" reguard. If that bot was made in real life... the razor tips would just chop each other off. If you make a weapon cut through a chassis point in a realistic way (as in, not through vital parts like a battery or motor) then that is ok. But razors chopping off razors is not realitistic. You are wicked close, keep going man, I have faith in you.

Oh gosh... where should I start? How to properly insert an image into your showcase 101: First: Screenshot your bot... This can be accomplished by pressing F11 on your keyboard at any time while viewing the bot on your screen. This will put a screenshot image into a folder in your RA2 directory. Be sure to crop out unnecessary stuff from the pic and try your best to show a shot of the internal construction of your bot as well. The members of the forum usually care equally about how your bot looks (combat effective) and how well your bot is constructed (built effectively). If you want to shoot for brownie points... create a "splash" picture for your bot. A "splash" picture shows several angles of your bot, pics of the internals, specifications (weight, weapons, drivetrain, etc etc) and maybe even some screenshot scores of how the bot fared against various opponents. You can also take the time to make the splash look nice with backgrounds, fancy text, and all that jazz. Second: Now that you have a proper splash or screenshot to share, make sure it is in a decent size that is worth posting on the forum. 800x600 usually works for me. If your splash is worth posting... head over to: The Gametechmods main websiteand look to the left of your screen under "Gadgets". Click on the "Image Host" link. It is really simple, you will have two options to choose from "Browse" and "Upload". Click on "Browse" and find the pic that you want to have showcased on the forums. Click on the file and then click the button for "open". The location of the file will now be displayed in the main box of the image uploader. Click on "Upload" next and then you will be brought to a screen that gives you three different choices for use of your uploaded image. The first one is the one you need to use for displaying your pic on the forums. Copy the line of code that is associated with the box for "Link for Forums" (highlight the line and go to the top of your screen and select the pulldown menu for edit, and then select copy... Or you can press ctrl+c on your keyboard) That line of code is now temporarily saved somewhere in the dark recesses of your computer... scary huh? Third: Now, when you post a message on your showcase you can go to the pulldown "edit" menu on the top of your screen and select "Paste". The line of code should appear in your message now. When you post your message that line of code will magically turn into your screenshot of your bot. It will be displayed in the full size that you saved it in. It will not be downsized or any of that garbage. It will look alot better and the forum members will be able to analyze and criticize you better this way. If you want to see what your message looks like before you actually post it... click on the preview button and see how it all looks... make edits as you need to. Oh, and please, edit your posts if you have something new to say and you are the only one posting on your showcase... If you double/triple/quadruple post sequentially after yourself, it looks foolish. People will rag on you for it. Try to keep your showcase clean... it will allow people to actually focus on your bots and help you. Good luck. Edit: Dang... i knew i took too long to type this all out... you figured some of it out on your own... bravo you.

I suggest... that you have a sidekick record the matches that involve Tornado on a computer that can handle that bot. You can focus on recording the matches with non-tornado bots... and someone with better luck (can we call it luck?) can take care of the Tornado matches? You just need a recording buddy, and we are up and running.
Count me out of recording though... I dont have fraps... or hard drive space left.

That's unfortunate, I would've liked to have seen what results that would've brought about...
My memory of it is pretty faded (i blame the beer)... But the last things I remember about it was that one of the coders had made a basic 3d environment for the bots... a collision engine... and some basic code. Wasn't pretty, but I will admit, I was pretty excited when I saw some actual screenshots of the work. It felt like they were really serious about making it all come together. But, this stuff takes time and effort... I think people just got burnt out with the initial work load. Without money as a motivator, it has to be a true labor of love to pull off that amount of work.

Back in the days of the old forum... oh, about 2 years ago. The concept of forum members designing and coding a new robot combat game from scratch was tossed around. There was a ton of debate, a billion suggestions... A few of the members actually started working on the code... and then it just fizzled off. There was a ton of initial effort put into it.
Believe it or not, the biggest thing was that the members wanted to figure out a good name for the game. Heck, they were trying harder to name it than actually contribute to make it. It was pretty lame. If any of you make a thread of "what should we name our upcoming robot combat game?" Acams will kill you... he seriously will.

6-19-09 Review The Iron Giantclick title for link 1999 86 mins length Rated: PG, Fantasy Action, mild language Directed by Brad Bird of "the Incredibles" fame. This film is thoroughly enjoyable for kids and adults alike. I remember when this came out in the theaters, and I didn't see it because it looked too "kiddy like". Well I was totally wrong. It has a very mature plot. The characters are nicely developed and the Robot... OMGSH! the robot is brilliant. Even though it is animated, the character is amazing and believable. It is amazing to see the soulless character struggle with very human like emotions. If you have not seen this film, I very much recommend it. You will wonder why you never watched it before. The animation is top notch (and this is before Brad was involved full-swing with Pixar). Plot (stolen from imdb.com): What if a gun had a soul? A gigantic mobile weapon from another planet is sent to destroy Earth, but is damaged on arrival and loses its memory. It is soon befriended by a young boy, Hogarth, who is an outcast at school and relishes the chance to have a real friend. However, soon the paranoid government agent Kent Mansley arrives in town, determined to destroy the giant at all costs.
