Creativity Showcase / If you can skin this, I'll let you pick my next coardboard replica« on: July 09, 2011, 09:47:16 PM »
Like the title says, I've got the body all assembled for my Hydra replica, but I realize upon inspection that the skin is beyond what I can do with my skills. So, I'm offering a trade; do this skin justice (More that what I can do which is drawing it in Paint) and I'll let you pick my next replica.
Anything from Robot Wars is fair game, even the ones they made pullbacks out of. I'll let you pick any scale you want, although curvy and domed shapes like Blendo or Destruct A Bubble will be difficult, and will look like <bleep> but if you want it I will make it. Here's what the original looked like: ![]() The pattern is the same at the back and right sides Here's the skin: BTW The fork-thingies are going to be made from components so they aren't part of the chassis skin Any takers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. 2763

I'm being told that my new topics are empty when they aren't, and I'm not sure how to resolve this. I have text and pictures in the message body, and I''ve no idea why it's rejecting my new post. The section I'm trying to post in is the CAD showcase. EDIT: I can circumvent it by cutting some of my post but it's still something I thought I should bring to your attention

That could be done. Does the item in question have to be really long? I don't want it to interfere with the 360 degree arc so I was thinking of using a hacked beater bar.

Becuase this is supposed to be about your favourite music, not how to outsmart the scenario. 2769

Another Cardboard Replica, S3. Would you believe less than 24 hours from start to finish?
And here's a picture of S3 chilling on my shelf. It looked so chill that I just had to share it with you (The shelf is right behind my computer): ![]() 2770

8 songs is just enough to take the entire tracklist of "Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog;" excluding the songs that are less than a minute. I'd go with that so that I could act out the entire musical to pass the time

Now that I think about it, money isn't really what I should be asking for - more than money what I need is more free time, and art. What I'd really like is someone to draw my GTM Land or MLP comic ideas.
Or in exchange for a bigger art project, someone to handle postproduction on my replica torunament videos. 2773

Modifications / Re: Punch Out!! Ui« on: July 09, 2011, 02:08:52 PM »1) I'll see what I can do, it is a bit hard to see I'll admit. Fair enough. I was basing my definition of KO vs TKO on the way Mark Beiro called the Battlebots matches (and assumed an OOTA would be KO, because there is no OOTA zone in Battlebots.) 2776

I suppose you're right, consdering that they offered a cash prize. Perhaps they shouldn't have done that - then it becomes all about winning
I feel that the most entertaining designs come out of the woodworks when the primary motivation is the chance to be on TV. 2777
Real Robotics Discussion / Re: Most High-Tech/Advanced robot built?« on: July 09, 2011, 08:28:16 AM »yeah, the goal of any competition is to win, this was a telly program- slightly different it was for entertainment. but saying that you have to have the good robots to balance out ordinary peoples atempts. im half glad that robot wars ended when it did, after the same basic robots winning, the audience would have got bored, and given up on the idea of robot combat(in the uk at least) Not sure if I agree with that - compared to Battlebots, Robot Wars was pretty good about avoiding the same basic robots winning. Sure, Razer and Tornado won everything in the 2 Extremes, but Razer stepped down eventually and, there were new great designs popping up every series. Even in Series 7 - only 3 robots made it to the semi's in both S6 and S7, and 3 other S6 semifinalists had retired. And Storm 2 looked invincible in its TV run, but it got pwned by Supernova in some unseen footage, and completely outclassed by Sewer Snake when it travelled to America - in hindsight it may not have breezed through the Series 8 that never was. 2778

No, HERE'S the guy that will play Pyro. His name is Jesse Heiman, but he's better known as The World's Greatest Extra, having appeared as an extra in tons and tons of movies & TV shows:
"Hey world's greatest extra, I've got a part for you, and it's a speaking role" "Sweet! I'm in" **2 months later** "SON OF A-" 2780
