I don't really understand how the damage calculation work sometimes, but WW disk, even without normals, are totally horrible.
Quote name = Whirl Wep Disc Chew Blade does way more damage in field test for some odd reason. 2703

Also, wide ant wheels are useful as well. You are right, Wide Ant are also useful for LW. Whirl Wep Disk and Potter's Wheel doesn't have Normal, although they deal pathetic damage in field test and are generally not that good. Quote from: MrRoboto75;67199 I use chewblades. More durable than saws, without normals. And you can stack them to make drums. Chewblades have normals. Quote name = Canine VI ChewBlade But if you stack them and use them as a drum, the normal doesn't matter that much. 2704

Unless you need a wheel to be a specific size or weight, the 3 wheels of choice are Vlad, Hypno, and Techno.
I usually use Techno on my HWs. 2705

Well custom weapons shouldn't be too much a problem as long as it fits within the 50000 dp/hp with dp no greater than 300, and likewise custom armor shouldn't be a problem as long as it does not exceed 300 hp/kg. Custom parts need to be slightly weaker that pre made dsl parts in stats since they can have any shape they want. And of course, no custom part are allow to be mounted directly onto chassis for obvious reasons.
Although personally I probably do better if custom parts isn't allowed. 2706
DSL TC Showcases / Richyguy showcase« on: September 15, 2009, 10:30:32 AM »Quote from: Naryar;66274 The blue CB IS better, because if you save 1kg off of chassis size for being able to put a mini on it, you lose a few chassis hitpoints. Is that 1kg worth of chassis HP > 1kg worth of chassis size (hitbox)? then we have to compare the tiny amount of HP gain over the tiny amount of average damage prevented due to increase chance of miss...... Or maybe I can just use a blue when it fits, and use a mini when I can't fit a blue. I wouldn't rebuild the whole bot in favor of one over the other. As for baseplate vs milti extender, for me the bad thing about baseplate has always been their enormous size. The 1 kg gain for using a multi extender is just a bonus. 2707

Not to mention the huge amount of required chassis space you would save, which not only frees up extra kg, also reduces the size of your hitbox.
Sometimes I wonder if the blue control board is really worth using. If you can save 1 kg off of chassis size by using a mini, it should technically mean that a mini is more beneficial. Although I find myself using blue anyway because it is easier than trying to squeeze out that 1 kg off the chassis. 2708

Lol and I wanted to submit something too.... Too bad the only thing I build are HWs and doesn't have any LW/MW to make a team.

Just tried to fight against most of the fan made teams. Difficulty is amp up by a lot. My face spinner did alright, but my vertical spinner didn't do nearly as well.
Definitely an awesome pack, things no longer die in 10 seconds and it makes driving manually fun again. 2712

As Naryar said, you really don't need to hack to get what you want, but if you must hack, the value you want to edit is "power". As to how much you need I can't tell you, since I think a non hacked dual perm is enough. Here are some of the values you can compare to.
Piglet power = 116 10 Perm 132 power = 200 27 Dual Perm power = 200 68 First value is for max speed, second is for acceleration. EDIT: BTW, how legit is stacking motors anyway? I always consider that unrealistic. 2713

No, damage actually doesn't have that much to do with how high you knock someone away. There are really only 2 things that determines how high things goes, the speed of impact, and the angle of impact. A Cleprechaun Tail that deals 50 damage a hit can still knock people flying just as much as a sledge hammer dealing 2000 damage. If you are hacking the txt files you are much better off hacking the motor.

Since tri bar is so bad, maybe you can have a dsl bar with 2 heavier hammer instead.
Is that a perm 80 or 132? Perm 132 doesn't need to be protected, as for perm 80, it is best left inside the chassis. 2715

Looks nice. Since you still got some extra weight left you can throw in a few ant batteries to fill it up.

I am not sure if there's a damage difference between rather the razor is spinning and rather it is stationary. Or at least I can't tell during previous field tests. If I have to guess the game simply doesn't put rotation into part of the damage equation.

Instead of the large motor shell protecting an TWM 6 Mag, Maybe an unprotected Dual-Perm-132 might work.

Hi, are you still looking for teams? Also since I am still quite new I am not too sure what the following means
Quote crawlers and jumpers would be allowed but not Trinity bots or nasty pickles So crawlers = weapons as wheels (does not have any real wheels to drive with?) Jumpers = bot that jumps with burst motors, possibly with pistons pointed downward, but not pistons pointing up (as that would be consider fliers). And what exactly is trinity glitch and nasty pickles? |
