It's almost august of an odd-numbered year, and the Combat Robot Hall of Fame will open again. So, who's everyone voting for? Make your cases here. Here are mine Gyrobot: A 2-pound walker that uses the gyroscopic forces of its flywheel to move itself around. Very clever way to take advantage of the weight bonus, and capable of tossing its opponents like a tennis ball shooter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOh1AXJOwoA&feature=related#Professor Chaos: A middleweight with a powerful spiral-shaped drum, has a near-perfect combat record: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVTOnV3vcag&feature=related#wsWarrior SKF: The shell spins and spinning motion winds up the flipper. Not an ounce of kinetic energy wasted: Anticide: Hugely powerful flipper in a tiny package: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oxs9HmPdYAY&feature=related#Upheaval: A sportsman-class powerful flipper with a very strong combat record:

Right, I forgot which one of you had mentioned "bad replicas." Anyways, Jonzu is it ok if some replicas are underweight? Top of my head, most of them are ok, but replicas of lightweights like Wedgehog and Demolisher will clearly be below 300.

Actually Vert Jonzu has a point; I'm going to have to dig deep through the replicas that are as much as 5 years old to get you some stock ones; most of them weren't very good but a few standouts exist. If this tourney gets voted through, I'll send you the ones I'm happy with and let you be the judge.
There's also some newer ones that could be retrofitted with stock parts (this entails changing TWMS for RAD's and hoping that the stock batteries fit)

Are you accepting more than 1 replica per person? I can give you several if you don't mind that some of them are a little outdated.

This passage from Zero Punctuation (Reviews Alice: Return to Madness) is officially my favourite sarcasm ever:
"..adds very little to an original concept that, let's face it, wasn't even that original. 'Ooh, Alice in Wonderland can be a bit ****ed-up at times.' As observations go that's right up there with noticing that Batman and Robin were probably bum****ing."

More fun with TGA's, here's Infinity. If anyone has any better way of doing the claws; I started from the Revolution 2 blade and cut pieces off until it looks right; that's the thing about the TGA's, you can only carve away pieces you can't add to the shape.

Your Youtube icon doesn't work; I think it's because you're supposed to enter just your username, not the full URL into the space on your profile.

Well then, here's a revised Spirit of Knightmare; the old version didn't have the different artwork on the left side. And I know how to do TGA's with transparency now so I'm

In hindsight, maybe the people trying to get her to go to rehab weren't so bad after all

Ar right, I sometimes forget that nifty feature; being able to erase all of just one colour in a field. Incidentally can you set the colour you want to erase to something besides white?

Cool, that may be my problem- I used tolerance 25% and ifgnored flood mode. When you say you erased "all of it", I assume you're talking about the white background, and not the disc itself? If so, does it work to erase the white segments one piece at a time since they don't touch each other?

Is it possible to just draw it as a bmp, make it transparent in Paint.net, and save it as a tga?

Thanks prey, it's working now! Hooray! If you don't mind divulging your trade secrets, how did you make that PNG, and with what program?
And GF, thanks for the suggestions; I think the "white" is just due to the lighting but I guess mine could do to be a tad brighter. The reason the body was so light was because I needed it to contrast with the pure-black chasm that you see when the flipper is fired. But I changed out the plum colour for the darkest shade of black that the human eye can distinguish from total-black and it looks pretty good. I also noticed that the logo on the left side isn't a castle; I can't quite tell what it is but in the morning I'll try and see if I can get better pictures of it.

Thanks for trying but it's still coming out blank. Maybe it's a problem with my PNG; Prey when you did T-Minus' arm how did you get the texture to line up perfectly with all the pieces?

Thanks. Here's the PNG:

Spirit of Knightmare. I thought I had a grasp on how to do TGA's, but I couldn't get rid of the white pieces on the saw blades (They are That Darn Dustpan saws incidentally.) I tried using the magic wand to make it transparent but then the whole texture disappeared. Can anyone help? I didn't have this problem with the special T-minus arm that Preytor gave to me in the form of PNG and I converted to TGA. Anyways I'm showcasing this bot despite this insurmountable problem because the if I'm letting a day's worth of skinning go to waste. But any help would be appreciated:

Also, the first two and last two digits get swapped around when you re-compress the file, ie AB20FE becomes FE20AB

I could probably track down and find a few people who are geographically close if I ever needed to get arrested.
