Suckerpunch: Gah! I really had to fall on one of the best competitors, huh ?
Suckerpunch can't even beat Coal Miner so you have a pretty good chance actually. Also, the bot tends to veer to the right when the weapon is in motion... so you might get a face full of fat wheel and have a feast. Never know. My second revision of Suckerpunch had battle axes instead of the razors. That version stood up far better because the axes never broke off. I consider your bot to be one of the better ones in the tourney too... so it is a good matchup. >:D

Yeah... These 20cm front polycarbonate extenders are very weak and if you lose half of your drive you're in trouble.
 You are, by far, the wittiest French guy I know. and yeah Kill, a Skateboard Truck should do the trick. Go for it!

Do it better. :D Looks really sloppy. I know circle chassis suck though. I agree with sage. It does look very effective... but sloppy as all . Don't worry Pwn, this isn't a smackdown on your building abilities but we know you can do better. I think it could be lined up a bit better and made more uniform. While the bot apparently does kick ass... there is a degree of design beauty to be achieved with with the design to make it a completely awesome bot.

I'll try and make a replica of the 1996 version of FrenZy,seeing as I suck at making decals and stuff like that. If you got a picture of the 96 version of frenzy I will skin your bot for you if you want.

The place where the fork is attached to the board in the front is waaaaaay too weak. That plastic will snap easily on the first bump you hit on a slope. Even with the shock, a lot of the weight distribution is going to hit that connection point because it is raised up from the board part itself.
I highly recommend that you fabricate a bracket to go in that location or beef it up a bit. It would suck if you got hurt. Having something break in the front as you are going down a hill is far more catastrophic than something breaking in the back.
Fix it up , we don't want you to die... good forum mods are hard to come by. :P

I really don't want to create another thread for DSL bots only because I don't forsee myself making a ton of DSL bots. So, I am going to cheat and show my old stock bot in this splash as a comparison! :P This is my entry for the Replica tournament. Crabmeat: Pros: Decent Pusher, Pretty durable, Nice battery life, So-so Rammer... Cons: No srimech. Once it is flipped over, the match is pretty much over folks! Just like the actual bot. How is that for realism huh? I never quite understood what the actual benefits to the real life design were. From what I have watched on battlebots and youtube... it doesn't put up a very good fight. But hey! I don't really care about winning much, so I wanted to see Crabmeat bounce around and have some fun. Back Story: I made the original (stock) crabmeat about 2 years ago. I crafted the extenders around the chassis to make it look like a cage. For the DSL version I left the extenders out and focused on the insides so that I could make it somewhat combat effective as a wedge-rammer. If I were to reskin the wheels, it would look pretty close to the real bot.

Getting the thread back on track:
Man is inherently evil.
One of our greatest gifts is also our flaw... We have an awareness that makes us judge ourselves and those around us.
When a lion kills a lamb to feast upon it for survival. The lion does not weep for the lamb. Nor does it feel guilt for killing. (to our knowledge at least)
Killing is part of the natural order of things. It is imperative for survival. I think mankinds various interpretations of "evil" are distorted. For every thousand people that will chastise you for committing murder on another human being... there are another thousand that will chastise you for eating a hamburger. It all comes down to the intent.
I think that malicious intent is a sign of evil. Similar to what Naryar explained. I agree with what he said mostly.
I think there are plenty of innocent human beings that are judged poorly. Because everyone has a variable degree of right vs wrong and too many people want their right vs wrong to be YOURS as well.
This is why religious groups can't seem to get along... which causes wars and bloodshed. Because they cannot agree.... Yet, in their minds... they do not consider themselves evil.

There are several options....invision power boards are only $165.00 plus $50.00 a year and PHPBB and Simple Machines are free. We had PHPBB on the first DSL forums and I will most likely switch to Invision if we have to make a switch. Do any of them come with a Bot exchange? ... I'm just kidding Goose. Anyways... ACAMS you have not been very pleased with the current setup as it is. If you had your wish which board would you want the most? Is it worth the time to convert over to a new messageboard?

BOTM win... Skin contest win... Robot Design contest win... Moderator win...
Somebody stop this guy! He is on fire!
(Next up... ACAMS gives him the keys to the city)

My bot is done. I will send it ASAP. I doubt Crabmeat will win any matches because my replica is just as vulnerable as the real bot. If it gets flipped over in any way, it is out without question. The weapons do not do a lot of damage, but it still can pull off the occasional upset win against some of the HW bots in DSL (namely Pressure Drop and El Diablo). This should be interesting.

Wow! That was actually pretty interesting to watch. It has that intense "someone is going to die next, not sure when" sorta vibe to it. I can see why you want to write a review about it. Nate if you get a kick out of that film you should watch "Battle Royale". If I know you well, I think you would like that movie a lot.

Usually my ideas come to me while I am slaving away at work. I work alone 90 percent of the time so I usually think a lot. When I get a decent idea, I scribble it down on a piece of paper and lose it in one of my pockets.

Meh. I am sorry that I was hard on you earlier. It does seem like you are pretty serious about making this tournament. I guess it would be easier for you if you had some more entry support. Can I enter a revised (DSL oriented) version of my Crabmeat replica?

The newest revisions look great. I like how you took the time to improve them. That is something I never really took the time to do with any of my replicas at the beginning of the showcase. Great work!
