Here's the overview of 2.0 in both the original and extended edition.

How do you have so much time to make robots? I am concerned

Based/cloned on a robot made by a guy named Code Red, a 360-degree drum spinner:

Hell yeah, how did you make it so that it doesn't havok whenever the servo moves up or down?

I made it not havok by making it not havok. I 'unno, I just used DSL Servo Motor (it's inside the chassis-drum) and it am be work
Ah ok, I used 2 overkill servos which apparently are havok central

DeadGenocide's 2nd entry accepted. We're down to the last 3 slots!
Allow meme bots and I'll enter something with more effort

I made a new robutt, Its a drum and I kinda like it. Aluminum 10 for armor, all steel extenders, 2 flatmotors for the drum, and NPC fast drive. it also has 3 battlepacks for the batteries, and I think it is my most compact bot yet

Also I made a weird thingy

It seems like any drum, but it does something unique

The IRL world has too many Heavyweights.
I'm on a LW building spree.
Here's one of my best LW VS.

3 mm. Titanium, 245 KG.
If you can, use 2 battle packs, also E teks are overkill for such a robot, and especially if they are sticking out of a robot

Been messing around in RR2 trying to learn the ropes of the botlab and everything, and have been having some fun trying to recreate my RA2 bots.

I did Speed Demon, and a rudimentary version of Sabre first, and put them up against each other in an AI vs AI fight (pretty cool that the AI just automatically knew how to drive them with 0 messing around too )

Then this fight got me wondering if there was any way to make some kind of flipper with what's currently in the game (no pneumatics etc), so I got talking to Hoppin, and dabbling around with spin motors, and I managed to get something to work. It's super weak (kinda series 3 Firestorm levels of power) but it's enough to overturn other bots, and it should work for self righting too (though in this clip Earthquake sitting on top of me prevented that). It won't work with AI, but for player driven bots having a way to make even a super weak flipper is pretty neat I thought.

Dayum even on this Sabare seems to outwedge an opponent with ease. Speed Demon looks nice too.
My question is: Has he AId it to do the Bocuma spin?

Okay, guys, what do you want me to build next-
>more wheels?
>more motors?
>actuators or pistons?
>a robot control unit?

While you're thinking about that, here's a disk spinner.
Designed to grind.
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
I think you should just make robots, as for the disc it looks decent I guess

Blood Runner just got better.
This bot's in Tech Wars 2.
[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
5 mm. Plastic.
I still need to post Tech Wars, I know, and I plan to do that soon.
ah yes, blood runner, known for its green color scheme. I think if you know how to skin components at least make them black and red like blood runner would be. Also if you made the wheels larger than it'll be like the actual blood runner, as it is meant to do damage while running over robots

Those bots all look great. I like the first one's tail, as well as the use of Slap Happy wheel on it. For Bogo, cool idea, but yeah, 8 small typhoons are weaponspammy as F1 said. Also, just a note, but maybe try to add a hexplate on the undercutter, so it will deal more damage as the whole disc doesn't slow down from large contact with the floor while spinning.

As for that hammer and poker bot, looks definitely better than it's predecessor. As for the ringspinners, I think most builders here do chassisbot ring spinner rather than extenderbot ones. It will allow you to do a good skin on it, as well as make it flatter
Tbh I think he could place a ball caster on the motor, then the disc with component freedom to fix that undercutter issue

2 new bots for today...
First up, a Wandering Spinner that rotates its chassis to move around.

...and then Red Phoenix. Too many popups have all razors, so I wanted to try something a little different...

So you have essentially made a bot with 0 wheels.......

I gotta say your kinda improving  :claping nice

Unrelated to the bot that splash gives me big eye hurt.

The bot itself is ok

-bringing it up once again if you want to make a robot themed off something do it in a more subtle way instead of just getting a bunch of pictures from google and slapping them on the robot.

-the panel work is super messy and doesn't completely cover the sides of the robot which is super bad since it looks ugly and wont protect your bot as much

-I might be wrong but there appears to be some clipping with the batteries at the front but I don't have a good angle so who knows

-The back hammer support thing is really odd. Im not sure why you have a spike strip but generally it just makes a robot easier to hit if its long so I would maybe make it shorter

The top panels disappear when the bot enters a fight. It just looks messy in the botlab.
I tried to configure the panels so they form a shape similar to the wedge on Beta.

The spike strip actually acts like a tripwire, but it also acts as extra support.
It does need to be shorter.
You are once again, attaching armor to the chassis making it invincible and thus cheating, that aint gonna fly with most people

When you call a parsec again, I'll throw this bot in. You can expect to say goodbye to those armor plates. They won't be there.
Oh, signups are still open and it's 2 entries per person

Discussion / Re: Difference between a Clamp bot and a Snare bot.
« on: April 08, 2019, 10:36:07 AM »
This may seem unnecessary, but it needs to be discussed.

There appears to be a struggle when it comes to identifying the difference between a Snare and a Clamp.

First off- A Clamp grabs and holds, a Snare bites, and releases. There is NO grabbing and holding action in a Snare.
Second-
A Clamp will grab and hold an opponent for a short period of time before releasing it.
A Snare will "snap" down on an opponent and then immediately release the opponent.

Third- You can think of a Snare as a hybrid of a Hammer and a Clamp, that attacks like a snake- striking and biting an opponent, and then letting go.
A Clamp will bite an opponent for about 10-15 times in a match, or 5-10 times if it's a crusher.
A Snare will repeatedly fire its jaw mechanism for up to 30 times in a match, like a hammer.

An IRL Snare can be identified by how it attacks- it will repeatedly raise and lower its claw, jaw, or whatever at a rapid rate, without actually grabbing opponents.

An Unrealistic Snare is basically a combination of a true popup and a hammer.

Snares also have a small "arm" or flipper concept that throws an opponent into the air before slamming it with the hammer-like weapon (jaw, claw, whatever.)

Any more questions or opposing thoughts, please post here
Can you just show a video of a clamp and a snare?

X-ROGUE looks like this in DSL.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
10 mm. Aluminum.
I suggest you make the bar bigger, and downgrade the armor to titanium 5

Yes, the but the chassis is too exposed for weaker armor.
The bar is actually 2 DSL 50x150 bars slapped together.
It does need to be bigger, but that would require a better weapon motor.
No not really, you could have 1 200 or 250x50 bar and upgrade the armor, because then you get more reach

People just dont have interest in anything but dsl irl

good point.
Make it DSL IRL, and make it so you AI other people's bots if they don't want to/can't and then I think you'll get some yes votes
