It'll be a simple wedge bot. It has been a long time since I touched the project. I'm not in a good spot to work on it as I'm trying to change job and getting ready to go back to school. It will be a IRL RG.
make it an irl razor guy make it be called ‘Razor Guy: The Reality’

please don’t be as clueless as robotfan99
I thought you were more clueless. Guess I was wrong then. /sarcasm
Edit: On topic, I have been experiencing some Havok Explosion esque glitches.

man. this is nuts.
made a sexy robot [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
some really neat features in here. im very impressed with what you guys have done, it's far and away the most complete robot builder i've seen besides ra2. I hope the work continues, I can't wait to see where it goes. especially interested in the bot creator. got some very good things so far, I'm especially happy with the custom shapes you can make, ra2 needed a feature like this.
incredible work so far. bot lab has got me excited
i have some bug issues with fighting however, not sure if others are having this. saw phil able to drive his bot but when I try to do a match it always ends immediately after the countdown, and says player 1 has won. [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] this happens even if I set both players to cpu. I may be doing something wrong but if it's a bug I thought I'd let you guys know.
Reinstall the game. please don’t be as clueless as robotfan99

More huge clones. You realize this bot existed a long time ago and no one cared!
Not really. I made Ferris Wheel before the HW Huge was revealed, I've known about its lineage for a while now. The original bot's been pretty famous and well loved since its first event, its not like people just now discovered it
By no one cared i mean there wasn’t a big trend surrounding it!

Funny enough, I wasn't expecting Merlina 2 to actually win a single match. But, it's something I could just look and laugh at in a positive manner.
Well let's see how far you get then! Second half of the SHWs are here guys!

Feedback: Love the game! Though here are some suggestions.
1. Sometimes both bots disappear.
2. Carbide’s weapon sometimes has AGOD.
3. Carbide’s weapon is overpowered. And it doesn’t even spin fast! Slightly nerf the damage; but buff the speed 700%
4. Make the test arena less laggy. And related to the test arena, make it so there is a set spawn. Not just 2 bots showing up in random places.
(Edit) 5. Original Sin’s wedge is too flimsy. This bot takes hits from Last Rites IRL for crying out loud!

I've talked about this before, mainly on the discord, and in general I think you're right. The issue with just beefing up the motors, however, is that you start running the risk of the physics engine just freaking out (especially for bursts). Another solution would be to make bots lighter, like how Ironforge does it, but again that runs the risk of making the engine freak out due to lack of sufficient weight on a powerful motor. That being said, Ironforge has half-weight bots with very powerful motors and it doesn't seem to have this issue in general, or not to an extent that it's an issue. Maybe you can fiddle around with putting all the motor's weight in the axle, which seems to make it more stable, but that kinda modding is out of my ability range right now.
I also think it's worth looking into making motors smaller (yet another thing that Ironforge got right). It's incredibly hard to get a powerful motor in a bot without it looking like ass or using a very space-lenient bottype like a FBS.
I think bursts are fine. But I can’t build an effective tombklone with these wimp motors! Edit: sizes are fine. I manage to fit 2 drive eteks and 1 perm 132, and still have space for batteries in my bots. Make your chassis bigger!

yeah, i like the idea of a pronged lifting wedge, what would be the best motor for such an aparatus?
Never built a 30, just recommending the weapon type. Look up Nyx for inspiration. TL,DR: idk. Edit: didn’t really need tldr

I guess because when I got your bot I was thinking of it as like a poker/flipper hybrid or something stupid instead of an actual popup.
i don't mind redoing it
nah it's all good, maybe a grudge match at the most
nah, you should redo it. there's enough 36HS in this tourney, I'd like to see at least one get rekt
You built one too!

I really don't understand why there can't be a playground section. like is it too much to ask to have an area of an internet community can just mess around, sh**post, and say whatever they want (minus racism, harassment, etc). like are we really gonna pretend that gtm as a community is "above" sh**posting just because it's centered around robot combat? because it's definitely not. this is a group of young adult (almost entirely) males having fun, I really don't see why we have to be a bunch of control freaks and push a "culture" that doesn't exist just to inevitably have the playground stuff spill over into other communities.
(edit): I was referring to a playground section in the discord, not the forum
(edit2): why would we delete the site that's stupid
Mechadino wants to delete this site.

To say that GTM is dying is blatantly wrong, as we have had more users come into the forums over time and the activity has increased, which I think is pretty damn good considering we're dedicated to a niche game. I will say, though, that attitudes seriously need to change if we are to make ourselves likeable in the eyes of other forums, which is not helped when there are a select few people calling GTM "toxic" and "altright hatesite" and whatever. That doesn't help, even if it's for a quick laugh or whatever.
Kill has hit the nail on the head, though. The forum board as a whole, just isn't thriving as well anymore. The discord is one of our main avenues for chatting to people who have relations to robot combat, and getting people in. People driving away others is not going to help whatsoever.
(I know I was taking a period of inactivity due to my personal life, but I feel this has to be said IMHO.)
Like SOME PEOPLE saying “delete this site”

As in bots to test against? There's hardly anything to test against in DSL2.2, since basically everyone moved to IRL or Ironforge. 2.1 bots should have just as good wedges as before, so whatever had good wedges back then will be your best bet to test against.
As far as wedge design goes, basically nothing has changed. The only thing I can think of is maybe you left before we realised that only the centre AP of the skirt hinge is actually wedgy. So don't use either of the outer APs for wedges. Skirts + hinges are still king as far as I know.
What!? Only the center AP is wedgy? I’ll still use the side AP for my flanking strategy.
