There's more itnerest for this than I thought there would be, maybe the high-ups of GTM will stumble across this.

262 DSL TC Showcases / Re: Shadow Moses MGT [Classicus' DSL Showcase]« on: June 09, 2012, 04:05:57 AM » Hi guys, I have a few robot ideas, so I came up with: Robot Building Marathon: 24 hours bot building. Wondering if this might be a regular/annual event or something, if not it can just be my thing, as I like a good gaming marathon from time to time. So, here begins the first Classicus Robotics Robot Arena Marathon. 24 hrs of action films, Dr Pep, and robot building. I will post the results tomorrow. 263 Contests / Re: BOTM July 2012« on: June 06, 2012, 06:15:44 AM »
Can the vehicle or machinery be of fiction/sci fi etc?
					 264 DSL TC Showcases / Re: SM's DSL off-topic-case« on: May 28, 2012, 02:24:24 PM »
Maybe you could make some custom skin wheels, paint them all black and give them the same hub design. Still a great bot though.

Top notch. I wonder if you could use wheels increasing in size to make it invertible? That would look mega.
					 266 Discussion / Cheatbot Components« on: May 27, 2012, 07:15:28 AM »
Hey, I was thinking it might be good for future DSL's to have user versions of the cheatbot components. More components = more fun and variety in my opinion, what do you guys think?

Thanks for the comments, the bot is designed hit at the sides of robots (I was going to call it 'side swipe' but it reminds me of an SR71). I've found when this sort of weapon goes head on it sometimes doesn't last, thought I'd try something different. It works upside down too :D

Yes to that. 270 DSL TC Showcases / Re: Natef's DSL Showcase« on: May 24, 2012, 02:52:43 PM »
It probably doesn't need 4WD, also flipper segments have only 1000 hps so making the whole flipper out of them alone might not be such a good idea. Perhaps you could house the flipper assembly in the chassis and use a component for the exposed part of the flipper.

As you know the season mode in RA2 is more or less unusable/broken, so I made my own.

I will only be putting robots of the highest quality (in my mind) in this thread, I felt the old thread was losing the standard it started with.

You are all getting very excited... might want to keep calm for now, it might be crap. There's no reason to assume it will be good. Hope for the best.

Great news if true, Jimmy Cameron is a true legend: Terminator (my fave film of all time), Aliens, now robots. Apart from Titanic which was a bit damp and Avatar which looks a bit 'funky'. True Legend. Hopefully there won't be too many shell spinners and we get to see some properly good robots. 279 Discussion / Re: Component Idea« on: April 10, 2012, 01:23:15 PM »
Dang, sounds like something beyond my capabilities at the moment if it is indeed possible. It was a nice dream while it lasted. I really must stop watching sci-fi while I'm making bots as it gives me crazy ideas and disappointment. To be honest I'm surprised something like this hasn't been done in real combat, it seems like an extension of that robot with all the components in the two wheel hubs. 280 Discussion / Re: Component Idea« on: April 10, 2012, 04:00:56 AM »
No that's not what I mean, I have a robot with two large side weapons, and I am thinking the ball could sit in the middle with the weapons mounted on the sides.
