Thanks for the mention. She sacrifices motor weight to squeeze all the rest on. I will see what it takes to move her up a level of motor or if I can get a bit more juice out of her engines via AI coding.
Edit>> She seems fast enough in the garage. I am wondering if I set her wheel height up a notch too much and the chassis or the tri-bars are scraping on the ground. Going to find some time to rebuild her with the motors moved down 1 notch. That might make her wobbly but also might give her better ground clearance.

Can be in the bot pictures even if the bots don't actual have in game play.

I adjusted Alien Queens Range from 25 to 20 and she seemed to settle just fine now in multiple tests in small arenas. Will keep an eye on her (she is a violent one) and will also look at moving her batteries up or down along her thin torso to see if I can find a better balance point with the current parts. I currently have her batteries low and to the rear.
Spin Doctor works well with Omni but I yes I have done him as a SnS for the All Round Bot Builder tourney. Sounds like people like him better with that AI.
I am out of sync by about a year so what Slipster improvements are you suggesting. Do you have links to ramp me back up?
Any other changes, activities, or significant bot designs that have occurred in the last year that I should know about?
Starcore Status Update: Spin Doctor updated to SnS (Bee.AI) and working nicely. Alien Queen range adjusted and tweaked how fast she tries to turn around but if anyone has specific build changes to recommend or do please let me know. Starcore

all that AQ needs is a slight edit to the center of gravity. I'll be glad to fix Castle guard. Glad to have you or anyone review Alien Queen towards making her better. She is a great concept and just needs fine tuning to work on a wide range of machines and in a wide range of environments. As to Castle Guard. He has already been replaced by Trebuchet (aka a tuned and retextured H.A.N.N.A.H) Starcore

3 blacks. DSA. 16 kgs i don't know what to do with.
4 pictures of it beating Ultimatum. one of Maelstrom, one of SHW- Locutus of Borg. (this is SCv4 Beta) This looks like a good candidate for replacing Jabberwock. The other I looked at was Slaying Mantis but not sure if Clickbeetle wants to submit that one. Would you like to submit this one or any others for selective enhancement of the Starcore V4 pack? I know you and others have done lots of great work in the last year. Starcore

Its been awhile but as I recall the ACAMS Smart Zones were zero weight fine tunings of Madiaba's (his were .1 KG as I recall). Not much of a difference but could make the handicap difference for someone like you Click that design right to the edge.
I am pretty sure I didn't make Spin Doctor a Sit'n'Spin AI till after Starcore V4 Alpha 2 went out the door. Will check on that. Will check Hurricane, Whirlpool and Cyclone for whether they are or are not SnS and whether they would be better off being SnS.
I remember that Mome Rath was tumbling in some arenas but I didn't remember that the updated Alien Queen tumbled out of control on any arenas. And yes shortening the range is one of the best solutions I have found to let a bot settle in before things get hairy. Will check them both.
Let me know if you would like to submit Slaying Mantis or any of your other bots to help enhance the pack?

Scrap Daddy - Thank you very much for the review and if you feel those are 'glaring errors' and the bots that "seriously needed a makeover' then we have alot of work ahead of us.
Some comments to your comments: Some of the rebuilds that were shown were never sent (mostly from Lugica and inf) so while I am hunting emails to confirm, in some cases unless we can get them to come back and send or resend we may need to consider them lost.
I do believe every bot is either Plastic because that is the max its design could handle (Tempus Fugit is Plastic for example) or it is DSA. It will be hard to detect and confirm in some cases because I hex edited the armor to DSA where needed (per approval from these forums) and when doing so the Reflect Detect does not work.
Some of the teams you listed as "All" needing rebuild are not going to happen unless someone steps up to do them. There are cases where the bot is a valid design for when it was made and its theme and yes there are other ways to build but unless its an embarassment people are more likely to want to make new teams or focus on glaring errors then rebuild for rebulding sake.
Many of the original builders are gone and I do not have the time to remake bots that are just in need of opinion based tweaking. I have upgraded their AI, I have upgraded their armor. I have asked people that have bots they want to rebuild to get involved. In some cases the replacement is not necessarily better.
So again I thank you for your top to bottom review. I know you did not want to scare me off from getting this finished so I ask again...
What are the glaring problems in Star Core V4 Alpha 2 (as in broken bots or broken AI)?
And if people see bots or a team that they feel are in need of a make over which bots are you volunteering to make better?
Starcore
P.S. Yes I still want to include the greatly enhanced garage. And I am still interested in inlcuding a better bot lab height control slider/graphic. I still want the Zero Weight Smartzones from ACAMS. And are there any other suggestions for improving the Stock Experience?

Of those that tried out the Starcore V4 Alpha 2, was there any glaring errors?
Any bots that seriously needed a makeover?
Those that have not tried Starcore V4 Alpha 2 but want to test and help out the link was posted elsewhere not long ago. Will post here if needed.

Im a tester for sure! and i would love to help with splash art and new bots. an i thought you had a jabberwocky? i remember you even wrote a poem about it. I have done a few versions of Jabberwocky but seeing some nice new innovations that might be better. Also supporting current efforts. If you would rather I didn't consider latest creations... Yes I want to get the Starcore v4 Pack out the door and into your hot hands!
I stopped working on the Starcore v4 Pack a little over a year ago due to a range of issues ranging from personal health issues (I have Diabetes and it gets worse at times), family issues (my wife was diagnosed last year with MS), having to focus on keeping my job during layers of layoffs and I admit I lost some faith that people wanted it when I saw the Stock tournys failing and an understandable shift to DSL activities.
I think many would still like the Starcore V4 pack released.
To make that happen I have gotten RA2 installed and patched on my current home and work PCs. I have resurrected the Starcore V4 Alpha 2 pack and found various parts of my additional work and I am tracking down emails and submissions people have sent.
I am going pull together what I had near done for an Alpha 3 with some additional teams.
I will need your help to review what is wrong with the current Starcore V4 Alpha 2 and will need testers for Starcore V4 Alpha 3 when it comes out.
I will need discussions here of what new bots and designs should be worked into the mix. (Like I recall working on new versions of Overhead Hammer bots HW-Jabberwocky and MW-Bandersnatch and bots like Slaying Mantis look promising) and which ones still need changing.
I have seen other BOTM submissions that may be excellent additions to the pack if people would like to see it happen.
What do you all think? I am not wanting to give people false hopes but with help and support this might just happen.
Anyone out there want this?
Willing to help? (Splash Art, Music, Arenas, Bonus Features, New bots replacements or teams, Testers)

Only things that are REALLY a PitA for the best popups are a better/well-placed wedge, belly caster armor, and crawler-like weaponry (including Mome Rath).
Also S32 your post doesn't makes any sense (even if i got it) Or raw accelerated damage.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7SGGyxHhuQ&feature=relatedAnti Epic was a solid Pop Up of its time. Not saying other Pop Ups couldn't handle Rammers like Warhammer with ease. Just having fun showing an intense moment of RA2 Combat. (And yes Warmachine has extensive belly caster armor, not that Anti Epic had a chance to attack. Just shows why its important for Pop-ups to have extra armor too.) Starcore

Note: That .zip is not a full install. You need to have a fully working Starcore V3 and then unzip this file to the Main Directory of that install. It will replace the /AI folder with the updated Starcore V4 Alpha 2 bots. More to do but fully fun as it is...

I have had others say I was known for my AI skills, not my building skills. I would like to think I was pretty good builder overall but I did spread myself quite thin filling in the gaps across the entire packs and helping people tune up their entries versus some people working on their private teams and known for excellence of a few key bots.
Back then I could not play online due to my network configuration, I knew that others were in the same boat and no matter what that people needed better stock AI opposition to practice against and learn from.
I did a pretty good job of pulling together the community with the Starcore Packs and leading the creation of DSL. Back then the RA2 community was at each others throats and many great builders were banned from this forum or that forum for lots of silly reasons. People like Rejected had nearly left the scene over all the fighting and had named himself Rejected because thats what had happened to him. DarkRat had been on the edge of leaving when I got him and Lutze interested in doing DSL. And it brought tears to my eyes when Lutze got out of her deathbed to help fix the DSL launcher to work with the Download Version of RA2 so we wouldn't lose that side of the community.
My skill was AIing, solid building across a wide range of bot types, program management and the desire to help teach people by example at a time when most all the veterans were hiding thier internals and spitting barbs at each other. Even used DSL to force forum leaders to get along and un-ban alot of people if they wanted to be involved in the DSL project council.
I do believe I have made some nice designs and I am pretty proud of my personal team, the Spin Doctors. Those that have played against them in Starcore 4 Alpha have seen what I could do but even that was over a year ago with plenty of time to practice against them. The side effect of putting out my bots as examples means that many can study and learn and grow. I fully expect you all to have risen past my efforts again. My top heavy weights are known and have been torn apart and fought by key members here many times. Heavy Weight Bots like the Starcore 4 Maelstrom, Spin Doctor, Warmachine and the revamped Alien Queen.
Godlike no. Glad that I could mentor and help a great bunch of kids, teens, and adults stay interested in robotics, engineering, building and creating via RA2 through the Starcore Packs and DSL, yes.
I will have to relearn RA2 again for this tourny. I am looking forward to it...

I would be happy to enter. Time has moved forward though, we will see if my HW designs are still competitive.

Maybe we should ask those that have tried Starcore V4 Alpha which of those are the toughest?
Help me get my momentum going again...
