Existing Games / Re: Overwatch« on: July 26, 2016, 02:57:58 PM »OW baffles me on how bad the teamwork is most of the time. And I come from TF2. It's not even that the people are mechanically bad, like they're good shots, they just seem incapable of making intelligent decisions in regards to attacking, defending, pushing, etc. PC here also. I love this game but yeah, it's amazing how a team can lack any form of support and nobody will switch to it. I feel like I'm the only player who actually switches when our team comp is wrong. 263

What's with people calling my HS generic. I put a lot of planning into it. The layout is designed to give it the best chance against wedges by hopefully bouncing over the weaponry. Additionly it has 4 extra claws as a ramming rack so it can beat other HS in the deweapon fights.
There is more of a plan than HUR-DUR LET'S MAKE 36HS. 265
Stock Showcases / Re: R01's Showcase Thread« on: July 24, 2016, 03:06:06 PM »How? Back when I couldn't stack blacks I just stacked two anchors and then changed the component.I mean nobody can tell if you BFE/RA2CF to stack blacks. The rules really mean "Don't do stuff that's only possible with RA2CF or BFE etc", such as tiny invincible chassis with battery armour etcComponent order in the bor file was the generally how you could tell if someone was using bfe 266

So I spoke to G.K. and he might send something.
However I feel obliged to ask Badnik to be my partner. Get the old team back together. 268

It might not spin up as you haven't given it a weapons parameter. Go look at another AI line and compare.

You need more focus on what's useful:
-6WD is pretty much overkill, but it can work if you optimise everything else. -That's too many batteries, 3 supervolts should be fine. Maybe learn how to stack. -That srimech is useless. It probably hardly works, and you can just use your wedge motors to self-right. -You need more weapons to get the damage in quickly. -With a chassis that steep you'll need some front armour. It's probably too steep anyway. -Your chassis could be made smaller. My advice is too look at other showcases and see what other people did with popups. Then see what you think you can do differently. 272

He can't even spell 'glitch' correctly, let a lone clarify what counts as a glitch.
I'd probably send something but I'm not expecting this to be finished. 273

Oh, by backdate I meant have a reference for what the ranking would have looked like for a previous year. So if we took last year for example we could see if it even makes sense.

Rankings sound cool. I feel like I could be at least somewhat competitive.
Also, if anyone feels like backdating ranks through tournament history I'll give you an internet cookie. 277

See link above for bot exporter. It gives all the components numbers in a nice format.
Then in the AI line you specify which components must fall off before the AI considers the weapon system destroyed and will change tactic. As I said it's not always necessary to bother. 278
Tutorials and Tips / Re: AI-ing (.py files, coding, nose-orienting R+D, and help)« on: July 01, 2016, 09:39:07 AM »
The weapon numbers correspond to all the components you want the AI to consider as weapons. Once all of those are knocked off the AI will switch tactics, usually to shove but some AIs might use secondary weapons (sweapons) etc...
Commonly people use the weapon id 0 which corresponds to the chassis so the AI will never switch tactics, which is normally fine. To find weapon IDs you can count down components in the bot file or use the bot exporter. 279

So I just saw that Road Rash is using some funky EM drive system. I wonder how well that will work.
