Anyways, no use crying over split milk, can I be the first to put in a request for Our Replicas are Different 2?

Feel free.  The sequel will come once I get in the big leagues so we can have more entrants, and will probably be after
Survival 2: Survive Harder.

yoda, please ai somebody's airplane so we can kick off the wildcard!

Not yet.  It'll probably be AI'd tonight, but the wildcard won't be done yet.  Somebody informed me he plans on using his update, so he'll get the same opportunity as everyone else before it kicks off.

A little simplistic, but it does follow the rules.  Ladies and Gentlemen we have our wildcarders.

Once I get confirmation from Ogre and a bot from 090901 it'll be a week for updates.  Then we'll get this show on the road.

Clarification for updates:

AI change does NOT count as your update.

I'm gonna go ahead and give the last spot to Wolfsbane, providing he gets me a bot tonight.  Tomorrow if i haven't received it, it'll be open season for the last spot.

in game, export it.  Out of game, find your file in your Robot designs folder.  Here on the website, the easiest way is use the bot exchange.  Theres a place on there for DSL SHW uploads.  click it.  Then browse for you file and upload.  Then just tell me which one it is.

Don't think you need to worry about bottom protection much in this tourney.  Definately not as much as usual, anyway.  But, if you are worried about it, you do have one update you can use.

That leaves 2 spots left in the wildcarders and I've got confirmation from 090901 that he's entering.

Shoot, it doesn't look like i'll make the deadline.  Ah well, maybe I'll make something just for fun.  What are the expiration dates on Ogre and 090901's reserves?

well, I should give them the until the original expiration for signups, the 26th.  But I think i'll bring that down to a week after all spots are taken in the wildcard.  At that point, i'll move everyone up by however many i need to move them up, and add the first extra bot i receive to the wildcard.  Sound fair to everyone?

Technically, I've got Ogre's bot already.  About 12 of them (he really liked this idea).  I just have to wait for him to get over here and choose which one he wants to use for sure.  But I should be seeing him either tonight or tomorrow.

Allright, All spots taken except for the Wildcarders.  So if you want in, make it quick.  We've got some awesome designs so far.

Sign me up, I'll build something soon. IE tonight or this weekend.

Sorry guys, I'm letting the ones who get the bot to me first take priority.  And this is fillin up fast...

Can the update only be a minor change, or can we change our replica completely?

Either way you want, but the update will be your official entry.  so make sure.

Woops.  That's what I get for posting this right after waking up.  Signups will end no later than April 26th or when they fill up, whichever comes first.  At the point of signup closure, everyone will have 1 week to send any updates (ONCE).

Anything else? :embarr

IT'S A TRAP!

Oh, and just a heads up for any Loophole abusers out there...You cannot enter, say, Hypnodisc by passing it off as a toy of Hypnodisc. Technically, it would obey the letter of the law, but breaks the spirit.  Just popped in my head that it could happen.

Allright, It's time for signups... The rules are:

1. 16 bots allowed, last 4 entrants will go into a wildcard rumble.
2. DSL SuperHeavyweight in the combat zone arena with hazards off
3. No cheatbot or replica parts
4. No custom components
5. All building done in botlab, so no BFE, AAM, or any of that cheaty stuff, skinning is allowed (nearly required)
6. multibots are allowed, both bots must add up to no more that 1200 kg
7. Multibots must both be beaten to count as a win.
8. 'loose' realistic rule will apply.  This is standard realism, with slight allowances of breaking realism for looks only.
9. Don't bother with Narmour, it won't work.
10. matches will be 3 minutes, 1 on 1, best 2 out of 3,  with a losers bracket
11. Standard Havok restart rules.  You get 1 free, Cause a second one and your bot is DQ'd for that round.
12. I can and will AI for those who can't, but AI'ing your own bot is the preferred method.  If I AI it and it's not what you wanted, the imperfection is yours.   No Whining.
13. custom .py's allowed, not including the cheaty type (healing damage, constant damage, etc. etc.)
14. You must make a decent effort to make your bot look like it was built out of something else.
15. It doesn't have to be perfect, as long as we can get the idea of what it is supposed to be.
16. Beyond that, most bot types allowed, save for trinity flyers, nasty pickles, or bumblers.
17. In this tourney at least, the old adage of "size doesn't matter" happens to be true.  Who cares if the can of dew is as big as the lawnmower?
18.  The most important rule, this is for fun...

I have two gauranteed spots for the winner and runner up of Survival of the Fittest, 090901 and Ogre. Other than them, it's first come, first served.  I am only going to enter if the signups do not get filled in a timely manner.

Let's have some fun!

*= you've used your one update.
Gauranteed spot, no bot yet.

Can we make replicas of fictional things, like say a Dalek?

Of course.  It can be anything other than an actual bot used for the sport of robotic combat.

Psuedo-interesting tidbit:  The idea for this tourney came from two sources.  One, I thought about making a TARDIS bot.  Two, a real life bot.  Points for the first one to guess it

gotta agree, make it deeper.  Unless you're going for an electronic bass drum.  :P

And yes!! make the foot pedal functioning.  That would complete it.
