Weapon setup is good. Wheels sticking out isn't something I'm a fan of, but I suppose it could work somehow. Might be better with a smaller chassis and external wheelguards in the same place.

Does look really good. Hopefully the lawnmower blades hold out for a reasonable time. Would it fare any better if the wedges were on the outside of the 140cm squaries rather than the inside?

BW Popup and last AW Chassis look fantastic. VS looks good, but I think the extender work could be lighter. HW Popup could probably be built without the SnapperII at the back. Tribar HS would probably be better if the chassis was pointing the other way.

Great choice. As GK said, simple, effective, and very well executed.

See how it sings like a sad heart
and joyously screams out its pain

or notes that fall gently like rain

Looking suitably mad. Shame it's not legal, though.

Where's all the weight gone, and why is there a seemingly pointless razor on the back?

Thanks.  Have we invented a way to make a component break off when the bot gets flipped?  Because I can think of a lot of bots of mine that that would help.
Not too sure. I'd have thought something like a Metal Hinge with less torque for an antenna, so it could flex flat if you were inverted, then spring up again when you're the right way up.

Yesterday i went on GTM and got this:

Warning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home/gametechmods/gametechmods.com/forums/cache/data_4cdb962f4fa949feca56058d06bfec7f-SMF-modSettings.php on line 1

There was a colon where it should not have been. [/outofcontext]

I'm taking a class in Javascript at college right now, and the syntax can really get screwed up by that sort of thing, so I'm guessing someone just forgot to check it properly or something.

True. It would help with building replicas, but it doesn't really serve any purpose for combat effectiveness, and people would know it was BFE anyhow.

When you open up the .BOT file, each component has a series of four numbers two lines above it. For baseplate-mounted components, this is usually "0.707107 0 0 0.707107". The fourth number is the depth scale of the component, which would give you a longer piston. To lengthen the component, increase the value, and to shorten the component, reduce it. If you want to invert the component (mount it upside-down), simply change the value to a negative.

Actually I don't know how to do that, is there a tutorial?
Not that I'm aware of. I stumbled across it while I was building Quark for last month's BOTM. I'll send you a PM if you like, I'm not sure if posting it here would break some sort of taboo.

Looks good, if a little bit of a basic design. If you want to, you could BFE the piston longer, if you're aware how to.

Does look quite nice. As usual with this sort of design, it's complete VS/hammer fodder, but it should do well against most other opponents. If you get a particularly speedy opponent, though, do they slip underneath you before you get a chance to fire your piston?

Access Denied.

398.0, Plastic 3, 2 ants, NPC Norms for massive HP. Steel skirts on top, 2 casters on the underside, because halfsheets are legal too.

Discussion / Re: What do you mod? (2012)
« on: September 14, 2012, 06:34:36 PM »
How much experience do you have in a specific category?
I'm slowly gaining experience with BFE, with the chassis height first on Frequency, then what I put together with Quark. Hopefully I can keep going with this.

What do you want to learn more about?
Anena gmf files. Ideally, I'd like to make my own arena at some stage if I can get a little understanding of it.

What do you like modding in?
BFE, I reckon. It opens up such a lot more possibilities than just staying in the bot lab.

What mod types are you most interested in getting? (one of the categories in the poll)
.GIB files, rearranging the menus, that sort of thing. I've changed some of the images, but I'd like to have a cleaner and more functional layout than the normal one.

What is your favorite mod? (more specific than just DSL unless talking about the GIB work)
Arena mods. Coming up with new ways for people to play and take advantage of their surroundings is pretty compelling to me.

lol 6 notable stock bots for me???

I have faith that we can find 6 worthy bots from you. perhaps Pinhole for an AW? :) PitA 8 for a HW.

I'd suggest Ancient Curse and Grinding Noise as well. Can't actually think of any memorable LW stock bots he's made.

Seems like a good idea. Maybe this could get people interested in Stock again, since Starcore doesn't appear to be moving forward, ReStocked is near completion, but looks stagnant at the moment. Depends how quickly things can move along. Would there be the usual LW/MW/HW trio, with three extra bots of no particular weight class? It might be a bit of a tough task if some members only built in specific weight classes because of personal preferences.
