I don't think byebot was ever intended to be fair, it's just so the tournament can start in a timely manner. At times it's inevitable since you get stuck with odd numbers that you can't really do anything with, but I think there are better alternatives with the number 12.

Yeah, but then 4 ppl gets default win and 8 ppl has to fight. I think it's more fair to run a triple rumble to get 12 down to 4.

I think you should get rid of all those silverbacks in the loser bracket.

Problem is, not all collision boxes are perfect. A clear example would be the 6-Mag. It has spaces in the middle which could be used for motors or batteries. But its annoying mesh would not allow that. I personally use BFE only when the collision mesh is unnecessarily bulky but the attachment is still realistic. But this is just my opinion, though. If you don't want to BFE, then don't. :D Well, as long as other people are using it, there are no reason for me not to. I am simply advocating a ban for things like tournament and such, because it give an unfair advantage to those that uses it.

I think things that can only be build outside the game is clearly hacking and should just be banned. This includes shrinking chassis/bypassing collision box/etc.
The problem is, there are so many "broken hacks" are easier to do than changing chassis size. This includes turning non weapon parts into weapons, connect things directly to chassis, connect without connection points, etc.

Things without wedge tend to need bottom protection. You would need to squeeze out some KG for those half sheets.

Looks Good. How does it fair against VS?

Maybe, just maybe, that other people have more ideas than just that.

DSL HW, just to have an actual reasons to interchange parts.

Warhead- Best HS of the competition by far. It looks great, makes good damage and if it can self right it's going to be awesome. Lol I think you will be disappointed by the actual performance. The Hypno Disk pretty much blocks me from making hit so I end up dealing hardly any damage. I also don't know how to write a custom AI to self right using servos (so while I can self right it, the AI can't). I think fluffy would most like take the first match in my bracket.

Functionally speaking, 1 long DSL bar will be more durable than multiple parts.
You might also want to consider using angled skirts on the 2 sides to cover your chassis a bit.

I don't like it that you can't attach sheets or otherwise known as skirts on their base side. It sucks. I guess this game is part design, part puzzle. Even after you know what you want the finish bot to look, you would still need to search for all the right pieces, and a way to fit them all together. There is the "side panel" if you need some armor connected on the base side.

heh urjak was lucky :P Ribbs was eyeballing those nice JTX's when 123 put an end to it Lol I think it's one of those battles that can end with different results if you run it a few times. Suppose that Urjak was the one that got hit in the back instead of Ribbs, it could have turned out very differently.

First of all, welcome to the forum.
To answer some of the questions
1. What parts can I use to be consider DSL 2.1 legit?
99% of the parts included in DSL 2.1 (without using cheatbot2), I think the only component that normally shows up on 2.1 yet is banned is typhoon flag.
Some parts (like the axle mount motor) should not show up if DSL 2.1 is installed properly. If for some reason it shows up without the use of cheatbot2, consider deleting your current version and redownload it either from Joe's or Sage's link.
2. Why should I follow this rule?
Due to balance issues, it is impossible to comment on the effectiveness of a bot if it has external parts. Sometimes it's because we simply wouldn't know how the part performs(as in the case of the axle mount). But more importantly, it is to prevent someone from using imbalance external parts to make their bots better.
3. What other rules are there for DSL?
This part of the forum also follow the "realistic rule", which simply states that, if it can't be done in real life, don't do it. For example, things like batteries stacking and 10 spinning components cutting into each other are physically impossible in real life. It is difficult to explain this in detail, so you would have to be the judge.
However, if you do decide that you do not wish to follow these rules, but still want to post, you can try the "custom component" section.

Lol the AI on my bot was wobbling like crazy. Oh well a lost is a lost, better luck next time.

ahem My bad. It's really hard to tell from those tiny images what are the exact components of everything. I just guessed base on the wedge having no gaps in between (signs of 2 angle skirt + 1 strait in middle).

First round predictions.
1. Reier, unless Craaig manage to sneak in a few chassis hit. 2. Too luck/position dependent to make an accurate guess. I think when my bot get toss out of the arena would be primary determiner in this match. I would predict that, base on the position, me and urjak have roughly 30% chance to win, and r1885 40%. 3. Pwn, since it clearly out-wedge Joe 4. Edited: The Ounce 5. Cordor33 6. Not sure 7. Depends on what drive motor Somebody's using. If it's the locked one, Naryar takes it. If it is npc fast though, since the tracks can rotate, it would have the ability to climb the blade barrier and cut at Naryar's exposed top at an arc. 8. Man Manu

Shinigami had the tendency to go up and over other robots and hack up the rear of the robot (which was usually exposed) the only times it lost without the rest of the robot being destroyed was against ROBO's pop up it was difficult to hit the chassis I see. Guess I am one of the few people who puts full body armor onto everything, I simply don't like taking risk. Aside for the purpose of look, I still think the chassis is better hidden in the back functionally speaking (making use of all the armors).

obviously you haven't seen how the shini takes care of business :P Nope haven't got the opportunity to see it in action. So I can only guess based on how fast 50kg worth of weapons usually break. Craaig need to send a team to NAR AI or something.

I know this looks way cooler and all, but have you tried backlash disk on this?
