I have the paid version of Fraps, and no matter what framerate I use to record (I've tried a bunch of values between 15 and 60), it always spits out a slow-motion video. I have 20 Gigs of free memory, I record at half-size, 800x600 window, quality set to low. Is there anything else I could be doing?
Alternatively, if anyone could recommend a better recording program, I'm ok with paying for it as long as it's not something ludicrous like $600.
EDIT: Something I hadn't thought of; the problem started occurring after I got a new computer and re-purchased Fraps. It looked to be an upgraded version of what I had before, maybe if I down-grade it will solve the problem. Does anyone know if this is possible?

Can I just say to all the people that have said stuff like, "Oh, #3 looks, rubbish, the splash is terrible, the bot is not gonna win any battles, moan moan moan", I don't think your first BOTM entry was a world beater either was it? I've only just got on the site so I don't know how good the competition is.
1) We didn't know whose it was 2) Do you want to not be criticized in the future?

To be fair, the best videos of Anticide have been taken down, it's capable of flipping a lot higher than that and that video is far from its best fight. And I admit Upheaval isn't spectacular, I'm going purely on its win record.

Mock Suey? That is a little sad, seeing as Chop suey is mock Chinese food to begin with. You're from England, so can you get Gordon Ramsay to come in and fix everything?
Me? I'm American. And I think Ramsay would've called you A Donkey for saying that.
And that is what happens when you have the same sig/avatar as somebody else; I thought I was adderssing Scourge
I thought you would've been able to tell the differece by my ENORMOUSW Ego.
You're walking on very hot coals, heed my waring. If it were GF or Hydro that mistook you for Scourge you might be reading some stuff that you'd wish you could unsee.

I ain't from England, what are you blethering on about? Although, wierdly, I'm from Scotland and Gordon Ramsay is also from Scotland. So in a way you were correct.
Right, I sometimes forget that Scotland isn't technically part of England and over-generalize; I was originally going to write it as "The island next to France with Robot Wars where everybody drives on the wrong side of the road" but I didn't think it would go over as well.

If the giraffe wins, there should be a message on the front page along with it reading "This is what happens when you submit generic BoTM entries"

I'm gonna dump the ones on you that I was considering but couldn't be arsed in the end - that seems like the most efficient method, so here goes:

This post was actually meant to be a response to SD's "Give me some ideas." Those ones were shapes/designs that I couldn't get to work for me

I have this L-shaped piece of metal from when I visited a welding shop and the guy said I could take it. I'm trying to figure out how best to use it; it doesn't offer a terribly good reach.
Could you post a picture of it? I have an idea.
Sure thing. The skinny side is about 5 in, the wide side is about 6.5 in. I used this piece to practice cutting, welding it back together, and grinding (that's where the gold parts came from)

I'm thinking of buying some gun model kits; hopefully ones that look realistic enough to scare away a house intruder, do those count as weapons?
And I haven't had any luck finding any; they had some in the "Haruhi" anime; the logos on the boxes resembled Tamiya, but when I searched Tamiya's website IRL I couldn't find any gun models.

Should I be surprised that practically everyone built a tribar-spam HS? Anyways, gotta decide between the flipper and the giraffe.

Dragon Warrior Joker (DS): Not terrible, but you've got to laugh when a DS game is shorter than its Gameboy Color predecessor.

Epic Mickey - No backtracking; camera really is that bad; your decision to be good vs evil has almost no impact on the game (thanks largely to being unable to backtrack); there's no final boss battle; they outright lied about the "forgotten characters" theme. No, the "forgotten characters" theme is just various background characters they made that resemble the art style of early Mickey Mouse.
I'm talking more about the fact that the pirates from Peter Pan got a very big part, and that Donald and Goofy appeared at all.
