Ounce is right. Enough chitchat and such, I don't even care if this is in chatterbox. This is a good topic.

The only bots that would be dangerous on the top are crawlers and flipped drums... Not that big of a deal. Hammers are somewhat rare too, you're better off with the stronger armor because more bots are a threat from every other side than just the top.

Me trusting you/that site just because you say so is like promoting LRA2 to Moderator... it's just not going to happen. I recommend posting pictures like everyone else, and download links if requested.

Discussion / Entirely new bracket for tournaments!
« on: November 20, 2009, 02:54:14 PM »
This would be very good for an absolute "best robot" type event. However, please note the fact that real robotic combat often has/had hazards to make it a little more interesting, and the upsets and drama and surprises are what make it exciting in the first place. I personally know for a fact that I can't beat ACAMS or Starcore when I enter BBEANS or whatever tourney, its all in the luck of the draw. That, for me, makes it exciting.

Not a juggler at all, just an original drum bot.

If it had a little more control to stop bots from going over the top, it could very easily be called a subform of a juggler. The name juggler in itself implies, at least from a robotics standpoint, something that picks up another bot and tosses it around in a controlled state, preventing it from moving away from the damaging weapons. This is what this robot does, regardless of it not being a top spinner. The name "druggler" implies that this bot works like a juggler but instead has the weapons of a drum bot instead of the standard top spinner, hence the subcategory.

Direct quote from the wiki: "The tactic is rushing on the opponent, getting under, and staying under as the small spinners grinds the other bot's undersides.

They are so called due to the "Juggling" effect they create."

Sounds like the same tactic of this bot to me. A juggling drumbot, a druggler.

Not invertible, but it can tumble around with the drum and still be fairly dangerous.

There was no need to bump this whatsoever. Unless you have something important to add, please refrain from bumping old topics in the future. Infact, if you don't have something to add I wouldn't reccomend posting at all. (Saying Threads like this, etc.)

If you like MX vs ATV unleashed then I would personally reccomend its predecessor, MX Unleashed. It doesn't have as many vehicles, no quads but it does have better levels and gameplay in my opinion, especially for the motocross parts. It still has the monster truck, dune buggy, biplane (Breathtaking on some of the levels), helicopter (Pain to drive), and trophy truck (My personal favorite).

It doesn't have to do a ton with building skill because I'm pretty sure Robo, Nar and all them build better than I do and I was a veteran before I was a mod.

Hmm, it seemed like it was slipping because in your original tests it seemed faster if I remember correctly.

I think some rubber pads might make the shuffler grip a little better.

We could have gotten the message without that caps and language, Duck. A simple vote and comment would have sufficed quite nicely.

Against this 100%. I still, much like the AAM discussion, see stacking batteries as a writ of passage, something that all builders have to learn at some point in their building career.

Question has been answered. Closing this one because it isn't going to turn into a political discussion like the others (if you can call them that.) This one is headed for a flame war fast.
