Looks wild. Nice bots, but with all these glitches used, he might be a little unstable? (or at least may lose some grip)

Hmm, I tried the servo-enhanced spin motors... waoh, it's insane. Some days ago I upgraded Tribute to Mayhem (stock) with Zteks put on servos, instead of sole Zteks.

Shameful... Could do three 1000-hits in one second and the record is nearby 8000 damage in one second (with an hybrid stock DSL, just replaced the Ztek by an Eteks and 1m disc). But the major problems is that the bot is more unstable and the spikes fly off really FAST.

Do you think a spin motor on a burst motor is more powerful than a spin motor on a servo? At least it's more practical because you can make the extender point the right way...

Lawn-mover looks mean,  good weapon and plating on the top (fending off hammers, I guess).

The only problems is that he's 2WD (tricky to drive) and this adds to the other one: exposed wheels. If a fast and agile bot gets on your rear, you're doomed.

But no bot is perfect, looks like a destructive HS.

Actually I fought and win VS the two, but it was with a completely insane bot (DSL upgrade of my Tribute to Mayhem bot, just 2 discs with servo-enhanced E-Teks... highly unstable but HIGH damage, have a hit at 2000 and made 3 consecutive hits in one second at more than 1000 each. The iron spikes get ripped VERY easily too).

I discovered that MOE and WIIDELOAD have weak armor, especially WIIDELOAD who could be destroyed with a few good chassis hits, perhaps plastic or aluminium armor I think. Unfortunately he has external plating)

But they're still very tough bots.

Believe me I struggled at least one hour to put 3 black batts in that design. On the original bot I put 4 (way too much), but it was 2WD, 2 hp ztek drive as you said, and I sacrificed two to put the spike (essential for not getting stuck on it's rear) and the two right angles.

Not to mention this bot has actually double strength aluminium armor (DSA for short) and four-wheel-drive was essential for decent drive. That bot just could not go in a straight line with 2WD. And I just can't stack batteries in stock RA2 (DSL is another thing, way easier) .  Clickbeetle's component statistics made it clear, it is slightly underpowered.

Nevertheless I'll try another pure hammer version.

Grip of Violence

My first hammer bot, upgraded this one a lot to finally give that. Chassis unchanged since first version.

Less successful than the first, could possibly win vs all stock AI, but it's not easy against some bots like Raptor or Wide Load. One time this one ravaged Emergency in 25 seconds, but he usually gets flipped wildly...

Name: Grip of Violence V4
Type: HW, Hybrid Hammer / Flipper
Weight: 723, 8
Armor: DSA
Weapons: Two hammers, 4 iron spikes each, powered by DDT's
Two flippers, powered by Snapper2's
One spike strip for not getting stuck on it's rear
Batteries: 2 black batts, 2 nifty
Drive: 2 N12 wheels powered by Zteks, 2 rubbers wheels powered by right angles (these one are not used for steering)

+ Really good damage
+ Fast
+ Good armor (again)
+ U-shaped bot to block something between the two front wheels (e.g. Coal Miner's drill or one of Deadbeat's wheels), getting a good grip at the other bot while the hammers do the job.
+ Gets stuck on it's back harder than Grog or Deadbeat
+ Compact (had fun with placing compoments the right way)

-/+ Flippers not always successful. Sometimes the bots go on top of the bot, blocking the hammers. Sometimes it just flips the enemy over, perfect traget for the hammers then.

- Vulnerable weapon shafts. Break off easily
- Still unstable, when turning too fast it just got stuck on it's rear before I put the spike strip. Now it's ok but it still lose a LOT of grip
- Vulnerable wheels
- Slightly underpowered (would need a couple of small bats for full effectiveness)

Actually the flippers help me A LOT for getting under bots like Emergency.

I know about the unfair fights, but I destroyed Critical Emergency, Minion and Second Sentinel (got under him right on) with this one, and Shogun & Cranky Spanky would be too if my iron spikes stayed on the tribar. But most of the time I got owned by the DSL bots.

Nice too. My favourite bot design :D. Ha, I just understand how you stacked the two Zteks on your weapon... yeah, that thing about spin motors being more powerful if you put them on a servo or burst.

You just put them on a Snapper II, right?

You have a point here. I just had this problem when facing DSL bots. All of my spikes getting ripped.

But just how can I put more weapons? Double extenders at the ends of the tribar perhaps, but I fear the game will block me because too much components on one baseplate.

And I tried other weapons, maces and razortips actually, but I definitely favor iron spikes.

Waoh, violent.

I like the name. *evil grin*

I just wonder HOW you put these plows and ramplates like that?

Tribute To Mayhem

My most succesful bot in RA stock, could take on and destroy 2 emergency's without getting flipped, but I think it could be better. Not that bad against some DSL bots, but usually gets his weapon ripped and finally destroyed.

Name: Tribute to Mayhem V2
Type: HW, Hybrid Vertical Spinner/ Flipper
Weight: 736.1
Armor: DSA
Weapons: Two tribars powered by HP zteks , fitted with iron spikes
Flipper (4 small wedges powered by 4 Snapper2)
Two spike strips, only use: avoid getting stuck on it's side
Batteries: 4 black batts
Drive: 2 N12 wheels powered by HP Zteks

+ Good damage
+ Good armor (not difficult heh...)
+ Awesome flipper
+ Wedge front, Emergency can't get under
+ Great tossing ability

+/- Decent speed

- Good only when facing the enemy (rear and sides unarmed and prone to get flipped)
- Could be more compact
- A little more power than needed

Precisely I can't get to his back easily even with fast bots, he's pretty good at keeping that spinner aimed on you. Nearly had him one time, but got destroyed first.

To think of it, perhaps MOE could be crushed by a correct hybrid VS/ flipper, but I fear the spinning disc could be deflected by his bar...

Discussion / Glitches

Alright, thanks. I did'nt know that DSA wasn't multiplied by 6.

Well I just figured it out, made a DSL remake of my first stock hammer with DSA armor, quite efficient against all stock bots, but i just took the same chassis to begin with...

Got owned  by simple bots like Eye Stabber... and Deadbeat KO'ed me in three or four hits. A few victories but usually done by driving skill and damage (quite good)...

Beat the Judge too, and the best part is when I destroyed him, two seconds after he flew to the ceiling, and quite fast.

I guess sometimes Havok explosions just happen randomly, on a simple collision.

Modifications / Hardest stock AI bot?
« on: March 09, 2008, 05:53:55 AM »
Like everyone I HATED Emergency, but now it's okay because he's not that hard. Rip off his flippers and the job's done. He's pretty much weak without them.

Wide Load is really annoying too.

Deadbeat, Grog and BEAR are not that hard (exposed wheels, and slow)

25334
Actually it depends.

Yea Hypnodisc is really tough, but my WORST nightmares on DSL2 are M.O.E. and WIIDELOAD.

Got always owned by them.

Hello guys (may sound childish but I'm new here)

I just wondered about a glitch: Do the very useful double strength aluminium glitch works too in DSL? And is it a good idea to use it?

Btw, speaking of glitches, yesterday I fought Ripblade two times with a VS, completely ripping off all his external compoments... No havoc explosion at all. )

Thanks. (sorry for my English)
