I been thinking about how to AI this thing
http://s895.photobucket.com/albums/ac159/123savethewhales/bait0.jpg I think I need front back invertible (maybe one involving smart zone and alternating the radius back and forth?). Fire weapon (another smart zone), by alternating between left and right on half second interval (probably using analog), so the flails moves back and forth dealing damage. The problem is I am not sure how to do any of those things. 2503

Did you remember to reduce "TOTAL COMPONENTS" by 2? Because I am 99% sure that is the reason why your game crashed.

I personally don't like smudging. It usually comes out better if you work with the strokes and textures of the medium you use.

You can manually pull out your bot by going into your robot arena 2/Teams. Copy the bot file and paste it into your robot designs folder. You may also rename the file however you wish.
Likewise you can manually import by 1. Make 6 empty box to fill up a team, or edit the teams.txt in the teams folder if you know how. 2. Rename the bot you want to import to Bot#.bot (# varies from 0 - 6, depending on their position) 3. Copy the bots you want to import into the team, when they ask if you want to replace click yes. I am using XP, and actually I never ran into this problem. 2508

Wait why does it need 12 when it only got 10 motors? Clearly metal hinges don't count since the are burst motors that doesn't use amp.

looks nice. Through as you might have guessed game mechanic is not necessary the same as real life ones, and some parts are just vastly better than others. Naryar has already mention about optimization, and I guess I will make a few more general statement about it here.
A few things to consider are HP, wheel grip, normal on weapons, and the makeup of wedge. There's also the ant battery which is the optimal battery of choice. The minimum batteries to reach full power is 1 ant per spin motor, and amp/16 = ant per burst motor. Through you can add more for duration. The optimal wheel list I would say are Ant Wide wheels (1.2 grip), Vlad wheels (1.3 grip), Hypno wheels (1.5 grip), And techno Destructo wheel (2.3 grip). If you need other wheels due to size issue, there are also slippy bottom wheels (1.3 grip), bike wheels (1.3 grip), big wheel cheese (2.3 grip), and overkill wheels (2.3 grip) For HP, Normals, and other things, I have a list of some of the parts here, through it's not complete in any way, it might already be too long for people to care to read. https://gametechmods.com/forums/index.php/topic,2402.0.html Unfortunately can't really help you with wedge. I guess I let someone who's better at it do the talking. As far as NAR pack goes, here's a link to NAR 1.1. It's worth checking out if you want to participate in NAR 2.0 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=14DTFFQC 2510
Chatterbox / Re: DEBATE: Swear words« on: December 22, 2009, 01:39:04 AM »
We can always increase the power of swear word by following it with either a race, gender, religious believe, political stance, etc. Then again I might not need the swear word if I am going at that direction. Common words like "dirty" or "stupid" might be enough in those context.
I am sure even a child is capable of finding ways to use existing non censored words, even invent new words, just to insult others. To think censoring a certain sound or pattern of letters will somehow reduce the level of verbal violence is just nonsense. The main focus then, isn't to teach children what words not to say, but the attitude in dealing with other people. 2511

Hi, not sure rather or not this is on topics, but here's something that can to make your car image look better.
1. Use the auto contrast tool 2. Use the resize and crop tool so the image fits on the screen And here's the result ![]() 2512
Modifications / Re: NAR AI v3 Mod - Ideas and Discussion« on: December 21, 2009, 08:32:33 AM »I seeI guess I can try. I think there's an easy way to look at it. Instead of thinking "how much power/amp a better should have", think "how much space/weight do you want batteries to occupy a bot with 4 motors? So if I want it to take up a 2x2x2 square, then I will design it so you need to have that many batteries to run 4 motors for the 3 minutes time. 2513
Modifications / Re: NAR AI v3 Mod - Ideas and Discussion« on: December 21, 2009, 07:46:21 AM »
Well, if we talking about stock bots without stack, then yes. The batteries take up so much space and weight you have no space for everything else.
The more chassis space/weight batteries occupies, the less you have for everything else. And regardless how you "balance" it you still end up with 1 good battery. It then becomes rather you want the good battery to be included for LW or only MW/HW can get the benefit, and how big do you think the minimum chassis size should be. 2514
Modifications / Re: NAR AI v3 Mod - Ideas and Discussion« on: December 21, 2009, 07:38:26 AM »funny you should say that, Backlash has 2 insect size batteries which are set to be not very good at allAnd why do you think designing the game to require having a fixed size/weight set aside for the "large car batteries", help promote creativity in the game? I am just curious. You know, I been thinking a lot about how to balance the parts so different parts gets used, and I come to the conclusion that batteries/gas tank will never have any diversity unless they are exactly the same (in which case it's pointless to have 2). There are no sense in making a battery twice the size with twice the power. If the large battery have a bonus then all bot will be using the large one providing they are within the weight class to do so. If the small battery has a bonus then that's the only one that will get used. 2515
Modifications / Re: NAR AI v3 Mod - Ideas and Discussion« on: December 21, 2009, 06:58:29 AM »
You know, I kind of grown a liking to the ant batteries and small chassis. From what I have observed, the transition to ant batteries seems to have promote new designs and innovation rather than hurting the game in any way. Bringing it back to large batteries just reduce usable weight/increase chassis size/limit the type of builds avaliable. The fact is most people will gravitate toward the "best battery" regardless. I suggest leaving ant batteries and take out the other batteries entirely.
Also, I would suggest increasing amp output of ant to 15. This is for 2 reasons. 1. It allow Ant/Beetle/Light weight to be at full power easier. 2. It help reduce the handicap set on burst motor. 2516

You have so much extra weights, might as well up your chassis armor to steel 10 or whatever it is you can afford.

I made a list of stats to some of the components a while back. It doesn't include everything (and I have no intention to continue making the list at the time), but it's better than nothing.

the only hammer with normal is the 25kg one. Even so I don't like 45 hammers myself due to it's "complex" collision box.
