There have been a couple of attempts before to pit British and American robots against each other, and the lack of American experience has been obvious. However, before we get too cocky, perhaps we should remember how we used to regularly win the Ryder Cup too… I’ve no doubt that the Americans’ day will come. I meant his prediction for it to have little success, mostly. 2506

I've been wondering... On a flipper like that, is there a tether on the flipper that is also attached to the chassis to keep the pnuematic ram from over-extending and coming apart, or would such a thing even be necessary?

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: General Chatter Thread« on: August 23, 2012, 09:27:10 AM »Well, to be fair, we are distributing their game for free, so they wouldn't get anything from this. It's essentially abandonware... Otherwise, I'm sure they would have a lawsuit against ACAMS. They just don't care about RA2. Even if they did, I would like it if I created a game and it still had a cult following ten years later. You would think they would be glad to help keep it alive. Then again, if you think about it, maybe they won't release the source code because they do want RA2 to stay alive... If we get a hold of the source code and modify it enough, RA2 is no longer RA2, in a technical sense. 2516

Well, whatever... You have to bear in mind that I don't build but about once a year and I don't build generic bots. There is no reason to build something that has ben built to the exact same specs by 20 other members, in my mind.
Also remember that this is a CW... CW bots require sacrificing something that a HW wouldn't need to. Since CW is a fairly new class, I feel that there will be a lot of trial and error to get configurations for the class right. And I will never be up to your standards, 123. I just don't have the time or patience for it. 2518

Reply to the source code discussion, incoming...
While it doesn't hurt to make another attempt at contacting Gabriel, ACAMS has said several times that they have tried everything they can to get Gabriel or Atari to let us have it to get no results every time. My personal theory is that Gabriel or Atari lost the source code and are too embarassed to admit they screwed up so they ignore our emails, letters, etc. I may be wrong, but it seems like the most plausible reason in my mind. 2519
