Thats pretty funny, when I was messing around building a real "bot" once I was using the internals of a walkman cd player with a cd for a blade. Cool stuff, Serge.

Pinned this topic as it will likely become a chapter in the RA2 modder's handbook.

I have used wedges to the advantage of some of my bot's wedges (See: Constellation.) They are indeed a useful component if you have the weight left over. My wedge testing topic proved that ballasts improve wedginess, as originally brought to our attention by Insult to Injury. However, the usage of them should be watched carefully because they can be used incorrectly.
And Naryar, on the contrary, long wedges are situation based. It depends on the bot and the bots it is designed to face.

JD, that first bot was something i actually tried in DSL last night... I attempted to make a UHW Trapper with a similar design but much larger.
The bigger VS is a really cool idea also, I may have to give that a try sometime since the only thing I can make in DSL is VS...

I like the use of the small drums on the LW, R0B0. I think it may work better if the plates sat on the ground flatter like _ l _ instead of / l \

Great thread, JD. I'm sure I can dig up a few less than perfect designs. Contrary to popular belief I do tinker in the lab every couple days although I refuse to build the same stuff everyone else does. EDIT: Here's something I had worked on for a bit, a HS killing VS with caster armor. Unfortunately it tumbles forward too easily and rolls on its top unless it hits the other bot perfectly. It could easily make a decent HW and its a design I'd like to build on in the future, but for now it sits collecting dust in my bot lab.

Naryar is sage now? Whew, I should have paid more attention to this topic! I'm lost... Roboshark, Scrap Daddy and Somebody are all the same person too.

I've been friends with Inf basically since he joined, but I didn't vote for him. Nor did i vote for Pyscolone.

This is a VERY rough sketch I did last week. I'm actually currently in Advanced Placement art (college level) and next year I am going to school to study to be an art teacher.

It was funny the first time... actually not really. Even less so the fifth time... enough.
SSG's was the only one I found funny at all.

There's been several VS's with similar design (Inf built one and I build one shortly after that); 4WD, etc. 2 Blacks should be enough for that. The DDT wedges should work well enough with a little adjusting, but a VS will never have as good wedges as some other types of bots due to the upward force created by the spinners.

I searched for such a modification.... none to be found. I'll look into it deeper soon.

You all are lucky.
