There was a front/back symmetric rammer in BBEANS5. Apparently it's impossible to change the AI's nose mid-battle, so I ended up reversing the throttle and turning to make it drive backwards. While this works somewhat, it is far less effective than normal driving.

I bet you're using Dummy's compiler. Use Serges; it can compile wheels. Dummy's can't for whatever reason.

For spinners I use arrows and space. For bots with burst motors I use arrows and Backspace, so the F11 key is in easy reach for taking screenshots. Auxiliary controls like srimechs, secondary weapons, etc., I use the buttons above spacebar (M, N, C, B, V) It's all a matter of what you're used to. I think most people use the arrow keys because they're intuitive, or WASD because the stock bots are wired that way. But you could easily learn to control bots with anything, and think anything else was weird and difficult. I once got a bot for BBEANS with its drive set up like a real remote control, with two analog controls, one for the right side and one for the left side, not forward/backward and left/right like most bots. And I don't understand how Click controls Drumblebee 2. :SS
What's weird about it? And, how did you get it? I don't remember ever putting Drumblebee 2 up for download... unless you got it from the original bot exchange a long time ago?

The results so far! (S32, you missed two votes for Bumble Bee for Most Fearsome, and one vote for R4 for Coolest (Artistic).)
BEST ROOKIE
Insult to Injury V - 12 Cardiac Arrest - 4 SurgicalStrike - 4 Vela - 1 Crawl Through Knives v4.2 - 1
COOLEST BOT (ORIGINAL)
Heaven's Sawmill - 10 45-70 Magnum - 6 Bumble Bee - 3 Do Geese See God? / I Did Roll, Or Did I? - 1 Bounty Hunter - 1 SandStorm - 1
COOLEST BOT (ARTISTIC)
R4 - 10 Heaven's Sawmill - 4 45-70 Magnum - 3 Stratocaster - 2 Spearhead - 1 Mace in da face - 1 Seism 13 - 1
MOST FEARSOME OPPONENT
Absolute Chaos - 11 Bumble Bee - 7 Crawl Through Knives v4.2 - 1 Seism 13 - 1 Big Flip's Revenge - 1 R4 - 1
BTRSHDBBDDTBL
Bounty Hunter - 12 PitA 8 - 3 Mace in da face - 2 T-800 Terminator - 1 Stratocaster - 1 Cardiac Arrest - 1 Cocytus IV - 1
Looks like we all but know who's winning certain categories, but Coolest Bot (Original) and Most Fearsome Opponent are still very much up for grabs. Don't think your votes won't count!
Also, I'm surprised nobody has voted Seism 13 for Coolest Bot (Original). I almost voted for it because of the adjustable wedges.

Clickbeetle - 86 - Might destroy everything here, or it might be HS fodder. I just wish Click had skinned it...
It is skinned, a little bit. I added a little "86" decal on the back. I just thought the rest of the bot looked best with the default plastic texture for some reason. And I was in a hurry. I agree with your other statement though. Good thing there's only one HS in my heat, and it doesn't look too powerful. Surprised at how original my entry looks now. I thought for sure there would be more VS's than just 3. Good job on the videos Yayoi. You must have a ridiculously fast computer because there's next to no lag in your videos (of course, filming BW's helps too, but still.) And the fights were better than I thought they would be from your description. SnS vs. SnS could be worse. MUCH worse.

The tournament is concluded, and all that's left before prizes are distributed is to vote on bonus awards. Each award comes with your pick of one prize component (except the Champion's Sword). You can vote any bot for any award, except you can only nominate rookies for Best Rookie, and you can't vote for yourself. However, you can vote for the Champion if you choose. In previous BBEANS, I have excluded the Champion from bonus awards, but I figure there's really not any good reason for that, so we'll try leaving the Champion open for extra awards this time. HERE IS THE SPLASH OF THE BOTS in case you need to review your options. Most of the awards you should all be familiar with, but there is one slight change: I have split Coolest Bot into two categories, Most Original and Most Artistic. In the past, Coolest Bot has always been rather ambiguous, with some people voting based on cool designs while others pick the bot with the flashiest skin, and the two approaches to this award are different enough that I thought it would make sense to just do two awards. So the awards you can vote on are: Best Rookie - Can only be given to people competing in BBEANS for the first time. These people are conveniently labeled "ROOKIE" on the bot splash linked above. Just vote for whoever you thought performed the best. This doesn't have to be based entirely on win-loss records, although having a good one certainly helps. Coolest Bot (Original) - No one likes a tournament full of cookie-cutter HS's and popups. Vote for the bot that you thought most stood out from the crowd with a particularly original design, or maybe just some older design, but never before seen in a tournament. Coolest Bot (Artistic) - There's just something about a bot with a high-quality, unique skin that makes it more fun to watch. Vote for the bot that just plain looks the coolest, perhaps because of a great skin, though this is not the only possible criterion for this award. Most Fearsome Opponent - If you could pick what bot you wanted to face in the first round, which one would be at the bottom of your list? Vote for the deadliest, most powerful, all-around intimidating bot. BTRSHDBBDDTBL - A consolation prize of sorts. Vote for the bot you predicted would go far in the tourney, perhaps you even thought it had a chance at the championship, but it ended up losing early because of bad matchups or bad luck during battle. Post your votes here. Anyone can vote; you don't need to have competed in the tournament. Do your votes like this: (these are my votes) Please keep your comments brief and in your vote post, and chatter to a minimum. Best Rookie - Insult to Injury V. Sure, there are other "rookies" who did better, but Alterer of Reality is not just new to BBEANS, he was new to RA2, and did better than most veterans. Coolest Bot (Original) - 45-70 Magnum. Yeah, it's basically just a rather slow face spinner, but the big N12 wheels and the razor-studded trapping arms give it that extra edge in my opinion. Coolest Bot (Artistic) - R4. It was either R4 or Big Flip's Revenge for me, but in the end those nifty blades on top of R4 were the deciding factor. Most Fearsome Opponent - Bumble Bee. The amount of backlash Sage received for entering this bot should be a good indicator of how feared it was. Nobody wants to fight a bot that can only be flipped out of the arena, never KO'd. BTRSHDBBDDTBL - Bounty Hunter. Yeah, it got one win, which was more than some other deserving bots got, but it had the potential to go much further if it didn't run into BFR. Voting will stay open until Sunday, August 29th. That's a little over a week from now. Let the voting begin!

A LW could cream PYS AI HS Are you speaking from experience? Because I'd VERY much like to see a LW that can do that... Oh, and that's a good popup there. Clever use of the increased weight limit to extend the wedge.

The tribar VS looks unstable. But the disc one looks good. I like the use of battle axes to beef up the plows.
Now I'm curious about your real entries...

Only thing i see is All terrain train. ...Come on now, you can't not see the "Export Paint Template" box in front of it. Fun fact: There are a handful of bots in the stock DSL AI that have secret things hidden in the same place as All Terrain Cube. Another fun fact: 99% of the bots I skin nowadays have something there too. Usually something silly. Consequently, there is a 99% chance that there is at least one other bot with a secret message in the CCAI. Oh, and good work on the pack, Joe.

OK, now it's over. The last of the BBEANS5 videos are up--the finals, the rumble, and the bonus Champions' rumble. You don't want to miss any of these fights.
Voting for bonus awards will commence shortly.

These were not on the request list, but I made them anyway. If you do not know who these are, then I must kill you.
Clickbeetle is proud:-D. Fixed. Nice work.

That's a bush katydid! They're usually really hard to find because they hide in trees and bushes, where they look like just another leaf.
Really nice picture, do you have experience with macro photography?

You need to find some way to use just one extender coming off the Snapper and attach both Z-teks to it. You'll need the eFFe glitch to do that. That's where you hover a component over an attach point on a spinner, spin the spinner, and then attach the component when it's floating out in space. Go to the bot lab and back and all the components will go back to normal.
Also, Spartan2 is better than Spartan3.

Emergency doesn't have DSS as of the 1.2 patch. Just regular steel. They put slot decals on the front in order to make it realistic (as if the flippers don't already pass through the ram plates) and apparently they reset the armor in the process.

Popup?
Looks a little narrow... HS's might be a problem.

Last minute surprise entry for Micro Mayham. Sorry, nothing as spectacular or original as Timber. But it's pretty cool how nearly half the weight of this bot is in the weapon (86 kgs to be exact... hence the name). 3 ant batts, Copal drive, 1mm plastic, the rest you can see. I know there are ways to improve it (namely, it needs better armor) but hey, it's not bad for a rush job. 86 is dead if it encounters any HS's. But anything else it'll have a chance against. Oh, and if you can catch the reference to Vertigo002 in this post good for you.

Holy crap! That AI has so much potential!
Imagine, a bot that is equipped for any situation...
It would be nearly unstoppable!
Well, so far Seism 13 hasn't been stopped... The worst that's happened to it was a 2-1 win against Absolute Chaos. Remember, though, you have to build a bot equipped for any situation before you can AI it. And good luck doing that. Edit: Wht does FB use to make he music? FL sudio?
Anvil Studio. It's a free MIDI program. He uses a bunch of custom sound fonts, though, so it doesn't sound like typical MIDI music.

Actually, depending on the arena, flippers can be very effective.
Even if there's no flip-out zone, on a multibot team flippers could still be effective. For example: use a flipper and a powerful VS; the flipper gets under a bot and flips it, and while the bot is tumbling around off balance or trying to self-right, the VS can come in and start kicking it around without needing to worry about getting under a wedge.
And I seriously doubt that everyone on the list on page 1 will actually submit bots in time. Whether or not you get in the tournament will all come down to when Sage accepts entries.

R4 vs. Copyright Infringement #2 is up! And now, we have our two finalists, and our four rumble participants. Click will need a vacation... You bet I will. BBEANS6 will happen, but not until 1) I get the stock BBEANS AI pack done, and 2) I at least make some major progress on DSL3, if not get it done. Edit: Holy crap... I guess i was not paying attention, but I just noticed S13's AI trick. I am curious though, if you don't mind explaining. Is the AI programmed to figure out the best place to put the wedges after the first round? or does it make that decision on the fly? I noticed that it started with far wedges at first and then after that it brought the wedges closer.
Seism 13's AI is told to use the wide wedges by default, whenever it detects a new opponent. If the other bot doesn't get under Seism 13, then in all future matches it will continue using the wide wedges until the other bot does get under. If the other bot gets under Seism 13, then it will switch to the narrow wedges right away, and also use them in the next match. It will continue using narrow wedges until the other bot gets under them, at which point it will switch back to wide wedges. It keeps track of all that from match to match by writing information to a .txt file that serves as its "memory".
