I tried something similar to that wedge/flipper too... found that those motors were too weak to get under some bots with enough speed. The HS'er looks cool... would it work better if the weapon was flat on the ground? Flip it over and slice away at the metal ankles of your foes?
Good work man! Glad to see you interested in being in CC3

Bump! On topic though... didn't want to make a new thread.
I had listed "Full Throttle" in my list waaaaay back on page 2.
Today I discovered that someone has made a game walkthrough of it on youtube.
This game was absolutely classic. I miss the old adventure games of the past.
Watch the beginning of the game here:
The video author's comments are kinda cheesy... but the game storyline is a riot.

oooooo... this should be interesting. Can't wait to see the results.
I am wondering if Sage will make the bot some sort of one-wheeled job or a crawler... hmmm.

Alright, SO i got half the loser's bracket recorded.
Do you want me to just put them up, or spend a lot more time and finish the epically cool intro i've been working for each match?
"a lot more time" kinda scares me... *hides* naked matches plz

key word: USED.
That barrel could be blocked or ANYTHING.
I am pretty sure that there is an unwritten law that abides by common sense: "Don't sell a defective gun... to somebody that collects guns." ACAMS will inspect it pretty well when he sees it in person. If the barrel is screwed he will walk away. It looks nice. Glorious woodtone on that piece. If you buy it you should hang it on the wall for display, don't throw it in the cabinet with the 100's of others you own. :P

I love that flail effect on Warhead's tail.
And the match as well
Agreed! That was, by far, the most entertaining match of this tourney. Thanks for finally posting some vids btw. People were getting anxious.

Looking good! I like how you took the time to match the shade with the text.

It is a nice idea but....
Who the hell wants to moderate a forum specifically for noobs?
If that was the gameplan I say sign up 50 noobs for the new forum, make Naryar the only mod. Sit back with some nachos and watch the carnage. (I would pay to see that)
But really... it should be a forum that Reier would want to be a mod for and feel rewarded with his efforts. Even though he is the master of Noob warz, he shouldn't really be associated with noob-everything.
My suggestion. A robot arena based forum that is heavily influenced with your lego spirit. There seems to be a ton of lego stuff popping up on this forum. I think there would be a decent amount of interest for a lot of the current members to visit both forums if all the lego stuff was kept on Reiers.
Just a thought.

Chrome looks pretty slick! I just might jump on this bandwagon at some point. I've been using Firefox for 6 years now... before that I really like iCab as a browser (it was simple) :P

Rock on and good luck! You will have a bunch of filming to do... try not to stress yourself out. Looking forward to the splash. Isn't that the best part of tourneys eh? :D

This may sound dumb, but does your motherboard have a PCI-E or AGP slot? Many HP computer motherboards don't.
I'd upgrade the whole motherboard if I were you.
It actually has an Asus Motherboard with a 16x PCI-E slot. Not a bad board at all. The Power supply is the main issue with that computer though. Terribly underpowered. Upgrading the card and PSU should be the best things to do with that machine.

Per Naryar's comment on the voting page, I had no idea that my design had been done before. I kinda presumed that it might have been attempted, but I didn't have anything to refer to or check.
I've never seen a bot like yours before so it might be entirely original, but it's still a shell spinner and S32 stated "entirely new robot type"
The design is surprisingly effective and I would be willing to bet that a DSL master could make it work waaay better than I have (i.e. more powerful/faster)
A challenge appears ???
Sounds good - I'll try building a bot like that in the future.
Go for it. I would be very curious to how amazing a bot you could build under that concept of a spinning wedge sweeper. And you are right... I should have focused on making an entirely new bot type. Man, this game has been out for so long it is very hard to think of something that has not been done before. * goes off to listen to Barenaked Ladies' "It's all been done." *

RESULTZ!
1st place Spin Within - Internal Spinner - Joeblo 2nd place Supernatural Force - VSS - Hypnodisc7 3rd place Waldo's Sweep - Wedge cutting HS - Jack daniels
Waldo's? lol Anyways, great contest. Congrats to Joe... now we should have our bots fight it out! :P Per Naryar's comment on the voting page, I had no idea that my design had been done before. I kinda presumed that it might have been attempted, but I didn't have anything to refer to or check. The design is surprisingly effective and I would be willing to bet that a DSL master could make it work waaay better than I have (i.e. more powerful/faster) I was really hoping that more people would enter the contest though. Thanks for coordinating it Sys32!

Wow! Thanks for posting that mike! The last battle in the second video was impressive to watch. Bot caught fire. Hah! That's gotta make a builder feel ill.
