Site News and Feedback / NEW: Reputation System.« on: September 25, 2008, 05:43:13 AM »Quote from: R0B0SH4RK;15557 I like this system. Something like this should be cool. I also like how players with a good rep can add, and players with a great rep can add/subtract, thus avoiding all flame wars ending in massive rep-dropping. I actually think there will be flame wars about reputation. But my idea is making a flame war thread only for reputation and delete all posts that are part or a flame war about reputation in all other threads. 24423

Everything's fine now, i played RA2 this morning, but now Windows is blocked because I CANT ACTIVATE IT, considered that i installed it several times, perhaps four times.
EDIT: YAYYY! It worked! Activated! Gonna build and send all to Giga. 24424

Great idea...
For my delight or my despair, that said. 24425

You know that IRL, bot builders especially in the smaller weight classes do make tight chassis?
At least good ones. 24426
DSL TC Showcases / Somebody's DSL Showcase« on: September 24, 2008, 11:18:33 AM »
My dear S32:
-every good bot has a tight chassis. -the "that motor/weapon sucks, use that one" isn't true in DSL. example: in DSL, the only bot that uses a lawnmover blade owns (ant HS) and in stock it sucks (MW HS) 24427

6 days left? Oh f...! I have to send the draw (actually make another because the first wasn't really great), all the bio and two bots to build...
hope my comp will be fixed then. BTw Urjak, you choosed the spider species too? 24428

Really nice! I love that launcher. When I'll get back to RA2, i'll try that piston launcher ideafor some fun, because I never got the rupt glitch to work (excepted when fighting with Click's rupting popup in The Pys AI pack, but that wasn't me)
Oh, and you should add a weapon or two on that flipper, even weak ones... because 18 damage... 24429

Yea, i like the sawblade one. I built sometime ago a DSL MW SnS/horizontal sawbot, but it wasn't a good fighter.
For the piston launcher, I would suggest a better flipper, eg skirts and not all these flipper parts. There is empty space! And the orange batt powering 2 astroflights... "LOL" 24430

-that chassis could be smaller.
- i dont know if this Vlad lifter is going to be very efficient - adding weapons on the rear is not a great idea - weapon unefficient. use an extender and something lighter/longer, like an iron or razor (i think chicken drills do work on DSL too) 24433

That's what I'm saying. R1885, a wedge to the front (like a flipper, small wedge on extenbder on burst) but not wired to flip) is great for getting under bots.
Have a look at that http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2techs.htm (building tips) and that : http://beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2stats.htm (component statistics) In my newbie time, I found that extremely useful. 24434

Somebody's right, you need more batteries, at least 2 more battlepacks.
Oh, and a rotating-weapon-on-servo design isn't really efficient like that (unless you make a modulable VS/HS like Click did) I tried spinning clamps (like hammers, but with spinners on them and the burst start/end positions are inverted), vertical and horizontal ones, on SHWs but... not efficient. 24435
General Support / Graphical Errors, Crashing.« on: September 23, 2008, 06:40:24 AM »Quote from: Racecarlock;15373 This is why you don't use torrents, the either suck, don't work properly, or fill your computer with viruses. This one just doesn't work correctly. JUST DOWNLOAD AND BUY THE GAME. It's not that hard, really. Nope. My torrent is fine. It sometimes crashes, but it's really minor and doesn't mess up the game. 24436

You can even make splashes with Paint.
No, Gimp is short for "GNU Image Manipulator Program". It's free and i find it great. Open licence. 24437

ok now my turn. obviously this is your first popup and it needs serious improvement..
-this isn't Tempest Eliminator and is way weaker. i doubt this bot could win against the real TE. -remove the pinks and two blacks, three blacks are enough. or a minimum of 2 blacks and one nifty. -i've seen worse, but this chassis could be slightly smaller -no front wedges, a great flaw for a HW popup -big ground clearance, same flaw too (shinies or, better, rubber wheels please) -as said Click, fast popups are 1 million times better than slow ones. use 4WD drive on a HW popup -lacks front defense. - you should swap the spike strips on each DDT for two or more razors (use two extenders for it). only 4kg more, same hitpoints (2x500) but 2 times more damaging. Have a look at Pyscolone's showcase. He's a popup specialist and probably the best popup builder here. 24439

Aaah, the problem is solved, i can access windows now with no lost data, but i went into SP1 now, and i must reinstall SP2 then all the drivers that needs Windows to work decently on a Mac... In one word "screwed".
I have actually no sound, RA2 doesn't work because of crappy graphic driver, the mouse is messed up, no right click... and no internet because SP1 doesn't recognize WiFi. ______ EDIT:: AAH IT WAS DELETED AGAIN! I bet it's a virus! 24440

Hmm
-Use shorter weapons/put the snowplow higher. Then the enemy bot won't go over your bot if he charges it. Because the weapons are too high for the snowplow to work efficiently. -Upgrade that wedge. And it can be ripped off easily. -You can use shinies if you rotate these Z-teks 90° on their extender, plus it will have less ground clearance. -Weak frontal defense. -Use Snapper II's rather than Snapper 2's for the overlapping. |
