yay!

would curving the hammers would give it the edge it needs to combat single HS at all? or maybe a flying-gullotine-like setup with a hammer?

just learn to AI yourself. i learned how to a month after joining and it is not difficult at ALL*

*for the most part, unless a bot decides to be an irritation.

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Helloface's horrible but realistic robots

first off, 4WD npc fasts with hypnos should be more than enough for this bot. certain wheels are given more grip than others, and as a result hypno wheels and techno destructo wheels dominate DSL.
secondly, it i horribly underweight. you could bring it up to 800 by adding many more weapons (spamming razors, LDS teeth, or large beater bars for examples, spike strips and ripping teeth dont tend to fare well.)
last, a skirt hinge isnt very good for wedges (i have been told a few times that skirt hinges can be good, but i havent been able to pull it off, so im assuming that it doesnt happen too often.) i would suggest a metal hinge with a titanium halfsheet and then a small wedge connected to it.

you can lurk a few showcases to see how its done (see: naryar's and 123savethewhales). the first half or so of scrap daddys showcase are also good examples of effective robots. around 2011 or so his style shifts from effectiveness to "how cool can i make this robot look, i dont care about efficiency" (otherwise known as IRL building). you can either choose effective (my advice above is for effective dsl building)

Only use the middle attachment point if you are going to use skirt hinges if you want better wedges.

What's the best extender to use for wedges? DSL axles? Regular hinges?
metal hinge + titainum halfsheet (the one in extras) + small wedge. works (almost) every time.

razors on flails are not irl. if he replaced it with sledgehammers on a dsl bar it could atthe very least pass as crappy IRL.

manhatten project is looking nice as always. predicting virus bomb to win, and maybe the drum to come close but ultimately lose to some HS.

Mazakari: metal hinge=poor show
hecko nfx.

i believe you are getting me wrong. most glitches are used as commonplace in modern dsl. stacking and "uberglitching" is not really allowed though for obvious reasons.

so we're not allowed to use ANY glitches for dsl? not even effeing, so long as the realism is kept intact?

Fun Fact:  Most of us on GTM are normal, then we have a few outcasts who are not autistic.
i think we scared most of the autists away lol.

now all thats left is to get GF and jonzu gone and GTM will be practically autism-free.

More weapons, smaller disc, more drive (by that I mean NPC+hypnos), less empty space, and 1 or 2 additional batteries.
by NPC naryar probably means the npc fasts.

yes the wedged HS does have a large amount of empty space. a dual mag is far too much for 6 LDS teeth as well. drop down to a single one and get some better/stronger weapons on there.

no it's fine

Get rid of the metal hinges and use a skirt hinge if you want a wedge. It can still be made effective.

Use the extra weight for stronger weaponry.
no.

from seeing the bots up close, i can safely say that tribal, HNEC, iron rose and chi have a fair chance of getting to the final, unless 090901 or the bye bot cause some OOTA upsets.

^^ quality posting

How good is the wedge anyways ?
assuming that the wedge is static (which it probably is), im guessing... pretty bad.

You're all just making things worse, why not go post in a game-related topic and stop spamming this?
fun fact: pressing alt f4 in the botlab will unlock the hidden supershine feature.
