8? Where do you see eight hammers?
I see four. 24343

LOL at the rammer thing.
Yeah it's better. I'm pretty sure you can put this red batt near the one you just moved (perhaps you'll need to move the 20kg forward),, move forward these vertical CO2 tanks, and get a slightly smaller chassis, notably the sides near the NPC-T64's. Then you can add angled skirts to your wedge to make it larger, or/and an upper wedge, for having a wedge if you're upside down too... 24344
DSL TC Showcases / Reier's Showcase« on: October 04, 2008, 01:19:15 PM »
I think you can remove two battlepacks and add a 20kg one.
You should also put a wedge in the front, because with this setup you have really low ground clearance and it would be wise to take advantage of it. EDIT: ________________ Second bot has a nice small chassis, but is underpowered with just an orange batt for 2 E-teks, but it's still fast enough. And lacks a wedge. (It would still rape my deathmatch bot as i see it) 24345

Ah... I've heared about Virtumonde. I think it makes your antispyware programs to crash and even prevents you from going on a antispyware website.
Never caught that, I think. 24346

5mm steel is not armor, that's madness. I don't think you need that much armor on a flipper, or even on any bot.
Why? Simply because if your flippers get shredded, because these are the most exposed parts, your bot will be nearly useless, and all that heavy steel armor won't help. Focus on having wide and great wedges, and a little front defense. Don't use armor that heavy. I would go with 3mm titanium - or go 5mm if you feel it's better after a few fights. You should divide the armor rating by the armor weight for all armors, as I do, it will show you the best armors. 24348

Good wheel and drive choice. Neat tight chassis. Looks cooler than the first. Better wedges, I'm sure.
This wipes out temporarily my spite for flippers. I'm being an ass because this bot is great but if you want to upgrade it even further: -If you put the fast NPC's vertically (exactly like my tabletop pusher) on the baseplate and stick a techno destructo wheel on them, you'll have really very few ground clearance. (nevermind if you already have very few) -I'm sure that with another cleverer chassis/component setup you could put better batteries than ant ones. -It still lacks side armor. -If it isn't done, be sure to use titanium armor. 24349

You're right, I checked up, they aren't. But if Classy Paintjob has a slow spinup time and a slow spinning weapon, and will just try to rush in, SK could have some serious hits on CP's chassis. Wait, no, seeing the wheel's height, MM should have at the best NPC-T64 fast. As these wheels aren't grippy, Classy Paintjob is going to be a snail. 24350

Ah! Ah! It did the same to me yesterday! I lost my LW AI team, but the game works fine.
Just replace your AI folder with a fresh AI one. Just save whatever you can before. I suppose it has something to do with the bindings.py. 24351

Hmm...
Philetbabe VS MetalikVyper: Winner: Tie. If Morse Code Breaker has a powerful drive (that I doubt), GBS is dead. If not, GBS will slowly destroy MCB's unarmored front and eventually win. Don't know the winner. R0B0SH4RK VS DragonFire: Winner: R0B0SH4RK. Two popups, but the best wedge is probably obZen, because R0B0 has more experience than DF in popups (no offense at all, Dragonfire). H@zm4t VS Somebody: Winner: Tie. Depends of the wedge. SB is confident about his wedges, but H@zm4t copied Mako's wedges and these are great. Interesting match. Gigafrost VS Condor33: Winner: Gigafrost. Poor Condor, falling on the most powerful HS in all the competition on the first round... Scrap Daddy VS Urjak: Winner: Perhaps Scrap Daddy. Lousy Launcher has poor side defense, and these skirts will get shredded easily, but if LL is fast enough, he can get under Steel Meatball and win. Sorrow VS Naryar: Winner: Tie. Two words for this match: Fast and Furious. I can't wait to see that one. Sorrow, you wanted to fight me...:icon_twisted: JoeCB1991 VS Jules: Tie. Destroyer is a great design, and he's fighting the DSL VS master. Mako 4's design will deflect damage, and could reach easily the Dual Perm, but this fight could go either way. If Joe can get his weapon at the middle of Mako, he'll rip some panels and do serious damage, and I bet Mako's chassis armor isn't great. Interesting match. Pyscolone VS Madiaba: Winner: Tie. Two veterans. Two extreme horizontal spinners. Two equal chances of winning. This will be a long, but extremely brutal fight. Flying_Chao VS Man Manu: Winner: Man Manu. One reason: Classy Paintjob's weapons have way more HP. System32 VS Sage: Winner: System_32: ... Just kidding! (EDIT: as long as Sage's not going to get OOTA) Kill343gs VS A.T.2: Winner: Kill343gs. Hmm... Kill has a better and longer wedge. A.T.2 could defend itself well, though. 24352

I didn't get it Inf... Off each motor? And making a drill? But cramming 4 Magmotors on a LW, especially a NWB "clone" like that, is a little too much.
BTW he has 1mm titanium. _____ Anyways here's the first version of my ELBITE tabletop entry... Extremely powerful, gets most MW's out of the Claw Top in 5 seconds or less. But I didn't fought with it AIed it so i'm not sure. 5 ant packs (a little too much), 2 medium Puma CO2s and two medium VDMA's. Thse are normal NPC's, and he's still too fast, but that was for having a good ground clearance. That's HazCon's chassis and lower skirt hinge. I was planning on just putting one battlepack and one ant batt, downgrading these skirts to polycarbonate and the armor to 1mm plastic, and then rebuilding the chassis for making it smaller. But I still don't know how to use all that weight I'm going to get! 24353

The only tabletop that I've heard of was the weird control board one... and remember, you must make bots with the same chassis. if you use that Wheelosaurus replica in fighting, you'll certainly just use a rammer on the KotH (neat idea, that said) and a pusher on the KotH.
______ Somebody, I know! But that was just an example of small chassis. 24354

Yeah... I thought to them, but they're very big and do look horrible IMO. Very big means it isn't as easy as the other wheels to get a low ground clearance, because you need a tall bot to have low ground clearance with big wheels.

No need to get sorry. Ramplates do light damage, hence the name.
I was feeling nice so i built that in a little more than 5 minutes. It has 3mm plastic armor, three baseplate extenders, one 20kg batt and one ant batt as i suggested, and the battery is half-depleted after a 3 minute fight. Decently fast. No, I was curious about how the other versions are built and how do they fight... 24356
DSL TC Showcases / SyStEm32'S ShOwCaSe!« on: October 04, 2008, 06:52:49 AM »
You could:
-remove a lot of batts. This bot is seriously overpowered. One 20kg black battery is enough for two drive magmotors, and if after trying you bot it's not enough you can add an ant batt. -use the baseplate extenders, the tall black and red things rather than the classic anchors. 1kg lighter, smaller and has more AP's. How does it fight, and could you show the other ones too ? (BTW the tabletop version can't have damaging weapons and the ramplate is one) 24357

1mm Titanium is enough, because if you put 1mm Plastic you'l get RAPED by any bot that can get under you even once.
Or, put some titanium half plates on your bot's belly, like Tempest (MEGATON) 24358

@Inf:Yeah yeah yeah... I'm getting berserk on n00b whacking these days. I'll calm down a little, perhaps.
______________ @R1885: There are no DSL tuto's like in stock, you're pretty much on your own now. Just some tips: -In DSL, you can use all weapons efficiently. -The best armors are Titanium 1, 5, and 10mm and Plastic 3mm. -Get your amp imput (consumed by motors) equal as you amp output(provided by batteries), or even a little higher. -Empty space rule always applies, of course. -There are grippier wheels than others - especially, Vladiator's, Tornado's, Hypnodisc's, and the best, Techno Destructo's. Using a grippier wheel means that you will go faster with the same motor. Try different wheels on a same motor- you'll feel the difference. ____________ Sys32: You should really make your own DSL showcase... 24359

Yeah... InfCon could have better wedges. I think this will be his fall. I should have put some more sheets to the lower wedge.
But still, a wedge only isn't a good one. 24360

Get the full DSL 2.0, Sys32, then. The 1.3 patch is just needed for DSL. |
