The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term.

The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well :

Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?

Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.

One student, however, wrote the following:

First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today.

Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities:

1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it?

If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.'

THIS STUDENT RECEIVED AN A+.

Happy birthday Sage.

I can remember when you were just a wittle-bitty sage! You've come a long way since then.

@Reier: Try not to get your hopes up. The only attention I got last year was a PM from redline.

When one layer breaks away, there is another layer of weapons beneath to continue fighting with. That's my guess.

You should use the weight you have for DDT wedges instead of blue snapper wedges. DDT wedges are the best.

Yes, HA I know the second isn't a 52. I just belive the 51 was a nicer looking car and used it for emphasis on the comparison. Plus I knew pictures of that 51 existed.

This discussion is going nowhere. Back on topic, please. Sparkey, while the assistance is appreciated it would be preferred if you left the helpfulness to the more experienced and instead focus on improving yourself (I.E. Your post quality and bot building. I recommend you get firefox for a web browser as it has a spellchecker built in, that would be a step in the right direction.)

Always hated the Volvos, the older ones anyways. The Pontiac Aztec was one of the biggest flops in company history, which may have helped lead to the companies demise. The pacer was cool in a really ugly sort of way...

But the 1952 Kaiser Henry J was a pretty ugly car! At least in its stock form:

When done up right, however, these cars can be just gorgeous:

I got accepted to college.
Cool. What school?

Bridgewater State, its pretty much the best college around here to become a teacher. It was my #1 choice.

This isn't really a debatable topic. You act in a very similar manner to him and have had plenty of negative moments on this forum. And you think you will get in trouble for that? Do you even know what trouble is? No, you haven't seen trouble yet.... But I can show you if you want it that badly.

The insults are a little much, but Sparkey all they are trying to do is help you become a better builder, but anybody would become aggravated when you refuse to take their advice. The treatment you have received in this showcase (other than a few insults...) is NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING compared to the treatment noobs used to get. But I promise you it will only get worse from here, and if you do not shape up I am not going to stop them.

And take the "Put this in your sig if you want avalanche banned" OUT of your sig! YOU are a worse member than he is at this point! If you do not remove it than I will do it myself, and you won't like what I replace it with!

I remember the good old days when a popup was just a popup and a juggler was just a juggler, not a "true popup" or a "false popup (the popup is a lie!)" or even a "top spinner"... A rammer was a bot that rammed and a piston rammer was a bot that rammed with a piston...

Basically, you guys can have your fun with your superscientific list, but let's not yell at people that mistake a true popup for a regular popup anymore... (I still don't know the difference, and I don't really care to know)

photoshopically

this is an awesome word and should be used much more often.

But yeah, Core Drill just looked like the best bot to me, most effective and it seemed like it was a similar style to my own.
