I think that's just an added bonus.
As for dodgeball, I quite enjoyed it. There was an alternative version at my school, we had to run between the two sides of the gym whilst the teacher threw the balls at us, if you got hit, you were out. It was easy to dodge really, the teacher aimed at the legs mostly, jump at the right time, and it was sure to miss.
I played that style. It's not uncommon :3

I just did it because I'm getting tired of people (i.e. Natef) posting FPS crap without any point and while we were having a meaningful discussion on dodgeball. Also, why spend the time doing that when you could be doing something a bit more constructive. Ignore smashy, he's just a fail troll.
