I have to admit, a popup was the last thing I expected from you for that challenge. I thought for sure the hammer weapon requirement was an invitation to build VS's. And the hammers are so heavy and awkward to attach on popups.
Also, I wouldn't think the armor is necessary, since sledgehammer bots aren't going to be scoring one-hit KO's, or even 2 or 3-hit KO's.
I knew a popup was an unconventional design for hammers, but I decided to go with it because it would be a challenging build. A hammer is so heavy it needs its own DDT, meaning I would need to fit 4 of them on there. I was actually predicting an HS from you, hence the frontal armor.

A trained eye might spot the little blue dot inside the HPZ in the top right of the last picture, as well as the extended chassis shape past the ends of the DDTs :)

It's the extenders that make it fragile, plus only having 2 ramplates to protect the front really isn't a lot. See if you could mount the drive and stuff from the back of the front two snappers, and get rid of the two back snappers. Save a lot of weight for more weapons/armor.

Anyone know of a laptop with an integrated 9800 series card? That would run it.
Apples are the best computers for gaming.
Why?
Because all hardware is built by apple (for the most part) meaning everything fits together much more nicely and the Intel processors and graphics cards are usually top notch. But the Mac OS sucks, so install windows 7 on it.
