If we are to give you a rough estimation of time/date to when this could be released it would be the beginning of next year the latest.

It all depends on when Click has the main Robot Wars Live Arena ready and if Daleksec7 and myself can have all the significant robots ready in time.

The robots I'm this pack are realistically powerful so expect a lot from the modern robots. Flippers will be your main worry when fighting, because there is a lot of them, but hammers/axes, spinners and rammers can leave you looking a bit mangled if you don't armour up and keep your front facing your opponent! ;)

Very nicely done ram bot Thyrus ;)

Red Ace, for a moment I thought you made this Centre Punch, before I read your post properly! But yeah, needs to be a very inspiring robot. Poor Mr Nasty!

I like how HB makes the Series 6/7 and modern bots while Dalek covers the old machines.
This is going to be huge :)

I do some new ones too :P

Wouldn't surprise us if you do. But you appear from this thread at least to only do older ones

As I've stated previously and shown everyone he's made Shunt, Sgt Bash and made Big Nippers weapon. This gives me a completely different impression at least.

As mentioned before Craiig, don't worry about the skin. :) I'll be giving it a good scruffing up when it's in my hands... Mind it could come out looking too weathered!

Nice work looks good shape to start off with and is there a link for the newer robot wars arena that was redone cause i only have the really old one and would like to give it a try to keep me filled in till this mod is finished no rush guys this looks amazing cant wait for the mod will be beast. alos would like the arena as thinking of doing a series sometime.

No there isn't a download link for the arenas because they are not exported yet. If your requesting an early release for the arena/s, or for us to send it to you only then the answer is no. It is Improfessional, takes away the quality from the full release and it would become complicated for John Findlay when he releases everything to the Official Robot Wars Website.

Anyway I might be back home tonight so I'll either make a start on Bulldog Breed or Noisy Cricket. Whatever happens as always I will keep everyone updated. :)

Hello again lads, I'm quite busy at the moment but I will ask for this favour from everyone in return for us doing this Mod for everyone.

I'm very happy you all like Dystopia and so is Garfie, but Daleksec7 despite being bedridden and recently coming out of hospital, has spent quite a it of time and effort to make Limpet upon John Denny's request. Don't worry about the skin, I will be giving it a better one when I'm back at home but can you all leave your opinions on it please?

Thanks lads, people who leave their feedback for Daleksec7 will get something positive in return from me.

Also I'll call out again, are there any BFE'ers who will be up for making the simplified low chassis for the feathers?

Thanks lads!

Sonny, I would just like to make the chassis lower than the slider can manage but I want to know if the lowered chassis would still work using higher quality graphics.

Jaydee, I think you've misunderstood which version is which of Ripper.

The one in the middle is Ripper Evo, the 5th Ripper, made by Wham and the one on the right is the 3rd Ripper made by me a long time ago using Whams parts.

Here is the 6th Ripper... In other words Dystopia.

Massive thank you everyone! I'm pleased you all like Ripper, I do consider it my best work so far! Hopefully I'll be able to keep up this new standard with the next few replicas. :)

Any chance of hinting a possible release date ? cause this is just insane i would spend money just to get this mod AMAZING!!! Sorry to hear about everything legal wise hope you get it sorted soon.
Word to the wise, a hobby becomes a job when you have to commit to release dates.

HB, that Ripper is unreal.

Thanks Sonny! Your also right about deadlines turning this into work, making it more of a burden than an easy going project which is why I'm not giving out a deadline. Daleksec7 is quite ill at the moment and cant do any projects anyway and we're waiting on Click helping us get the Robot Wars Live arena working in the game before the release.

Since arenas take time, the other arenas will be released in the monthly DLC. I'll also be doing a Featherweight add on once I get a BFEer willing to work on demand to make the chassis low enough. Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm assuming you don't need to have the graphics on low res to get the chassis to remain low because Hypnodisc and Chaos 2's chassis remain unchanged?

You know what man? See if you're ever in Belfast for an event and once I'm 18 I will meet you in person and I will buy you a drink but that means I will end up infringing my moral code but what the hell I'll make an exception. Also your handling so much at life IRL and this mod and so many other things at once and you just keep going forward. Never thought I would say this to anyone online but dude you are an inspiration to me and probably this entire forum.

Also that bot. Top quality like usual. 11/10
Cheers mate, one of the nicest comments I've ever received! :) If I am ever up in Belfast it certainly would be great to meet you, If you buy me a pint, make sure its Irish and I'll get you a Newcastle Brown Ale ;) It would be appropriate haha.
Thank you for appreciating how much is going on in my life at the moment, there is a lot that I'd rather not talk about at all but since I consider you all to be part of our little RA2 family, I felt appropriate to tell yous the main dilemma that is going on.
Regardless of whatever goes on I will try my very best to keep this project going.

Damn, the paint work on Ripper is furcking amazing.
Regardless, the Ripper replica does look badass. Why this over the old Ripper exactly?
I assume it's because this version was the 2011 UK champion and/or the team wanted this version too.
As good as the old Ripper is, I prefer the latest Ripper, it was easy to get to it and photograph it for the textures and in my opinion it is the most suitable for the pack.

This version isn't actually the one that won the championship, the version that did I will begin working on shortly in the form of Dystopia

I took this screenshot half an hour ago to show the evolutions of Ripper in the world of Robot Arena 2. As you can see development has progressed a long way in the component design and in John Findlay's robot design.

On the right, is my poor representation of Ripper MK3, the middle is Ripper MK5/Ripper Evo (which is a completely different robot from Dystopia before anyone tries saying different) made by Wham for the Roaming Robots pack and on the left is Ripper MK7, built in 2013 and I don't think I need to tell you who made it!

See you all after the next update lads!

EDIT:
I forgot to mention that the legal stuff is sorted out. John cleared it up with me and said the other person just misunderstood and its obviously given us a scare! But when this is released it will be on the Official Robot Wars Website.  :thumbup

Do you plan on making some mashup bots when Heretic's Robot Wars mod comes out sometime during the 2020's?

Well our deadline is around 2080 so! ;)

Artyom, that chassis looks quite a bit like Leveller's your right. looks like it will be a very good robot once completed. Dave Weston /RazerDave on FRA would be very happy to help you with the internal design, he's brilliant. Lets hope you can get it in working order for early next year. it would be great to see it in action. :) Once you've signed Jonno's contract we can also get the robot into the game in the monthly add ons. Speed Controllers I find quite baffling, seeing that they resemble hard drives ect. Either way I wish you luck.

Mouldy King Bash, I am indeed a beautiful man, I have a tan and everything haha. Daleksec is the one to praise though, he's been brilliant. Just wait until you see his other work!

Thanks again everyone, we really appreciate the feedback as always. :)

Right I wont lie here, I've had some complications with legal stuff that needs to be sorted out, and on top of that my new born nephew who was born two months ago might never get to come live with the family because his twisted mother. So were all absolutely stressed and depressed, either way we are going to take further action. Its already cost several thousands for the baby gear, and now we're paying for a solicitor.

This stress has required a distraction and this is what I have occupied myself with. I started it last night after receiving the first concerning news and I've managed to finish it after receiving the second.

Either way, here is Ripper.
It's flipper shape has just been welded up this past week prior to the Northern Tour and the paintwork itself is actually a guestimation!

Sorry, this is just a quick post.

Thank you everyone for the appreciation. bigbigger, I will only make Tiberius 4 if Ed Hoppit allows it. I do indeed offer services for designing custom components ect but I do not make replicas for people unless they own the robot themselves. Same thing regarding 3D printing, unless you yourself ask the roboteer for permission to have a model.

ArtyomTDO, massive thank you for the compliment I really appreciate it. I will be coming along to Barnsley if your attending, it would be great to meet you. :)

Anyway, here's daleksec7's Sgt Bash and Shunt. And Wham's Bigger Brother modified to resemble the real thing more.

Moved post to the page for convenience:

Hello lads, had a brilliant weekend helping out with the Robot Wars Northern tour, made brilliant friends and had my first experience battling thanks to Jarvis, letting me fight Ricochet against himself driving Flow, Explosion, Satanics,  Beauty 2, Tiny Hurtz and the Toon raider lads' lifter which I didn't catch the name of. I managed to give them all a good run for their money, slamming them around the arena and Beauty 2 losing a wheel helped. All the robots bar Ricochet and Explosion were conked out and and almost got the latter into the pit before the radio signal started glitching.  I only lost to Explosion on a crowds decision so I have to admit... I've been bitten by the bug and in a few years time I defiantly will make a feather and take part.

Had a brilliant laugh during the event with everyone, enjoyed being part of the pit crew and I can honestly say I am absolutely shattered after loading the arena and robots into the lorry for the past two days. :P but if the lads read this then you know who you are, a massive thanks and hopefully I'll see you again soon. ;)

Back to the business you GTM lads are interested in I can present to you Alien Destructor and Big Nipper.(at last)

Daleksec7 made the claws so yous have him to thank for that, our first joint project and the rest is my my doing. Alien Destructors jaws were abit of an arse but I managed to pull them off quite well I think!

Next up in line are Toon Raider 2, Dystopia, TillyEwe 3, Bulldog Breed and the newly upgraded Ripper which I believe non have you will have seen yet. I would like to make Noisy Cricket, considering how kind Dave Weston/RazerDave was throughout the past couple of days and for giving me a lift home last night after the meal but he doesn't think it's worth it... So we'll have to wait and see.

Daleksec7 has been working on Shunt, Sgt Bash and Firestorm so expect to see them shortly. I have and I can honestly say you will not be disappointed! ;)

Oh bugger aye, i forgot to say I'm including Gabriel's wheels and mallet just incase someone's feeling fancy. Hdpe wheels?  :baffled:

ineverknowwhatimdoing.jpg

Nah only two Dantomkia's, Whams original isn't going to be in the pack just the one I modded and Possibly DTK if people want it included.

And nope I'm not releasing a BETA of this, giving out something that's half finished is pointless. Influence the creator to not make any further progress so it's best for everyone if they wait.

Bloody hell, few replies, and an argument? Thanks for the positive replies guys, pleased you like it.

Jaydee, Biggs, requests are pointless, suggestions are alright, the best thing people could do when someone suggests a robot is deliver their opinion on it and say whether they think it should be included or not. So lads, as Jaydee suggested would KaPow be a good robot to make or do you think after the addition of Dystopia, Ripper and Manta we would have enough flippers?

Sonny, Cherub works a dream. It's so fun to use, the forks can turn itself over and right it despite their small size and being powered by a servo. Saint again works like the real thing and is fun to use but for the sword to act like the prototype, the wheels have virtually no grip whatsoever.

This is Gabriel, named after the teams short lived featherweight. Running with the teams somewhat religiously named robots. Photograph taken by The team.

This was about 3 hours work of taking my modded version of Whams Dantomkia apart and piecing it back together with additional bits and bobs and I can honestly say that I am bitterly disappointed. It's DTK As suggested about fifteen pages ago. Personally I've given up but if you all think it's good enough then I'll include it.

Would anybody be willing to donate the textures from the Aircraft Carrier and Subway arenas and the sound/music files for the RW Official Mod?

Thanks,

Well since I don't really hold grudges, aye its fine mate, no bother. I guess its understandable given other peoples reputation and the common occurrence of the younger members lying through their teeth for any reason but remember I am a heavy smoking adult with 3 nieces and a nephew who has his own place and a full time job and a 3D printing business on the side so I'd more likely be drunk than lying. Mind saying that, my lass cant drink any-more so I doubt I will be either. But yes, All is forgiven everyone's an arse at times. Nee bovva.  ;)

I'm a git when I'm stressed as well mate, I started on someone in ASDA the other day because it was packed and I was in a hurry(ish).
I'm back at work tomorrow so I'll be more stressed most likely. Woop.

Oh yeah, thanks again for the sympathy, my lass and me really appreciate it.  :thumbup Life goes on though doesn't it? I'm just grateful she didn't have a worse fall.

Small update, to keep my mind occupied I've been working on the Saint Team's other Heavyweight, Cherub.

Thank you for the responses everyone, I didn't expect to get any to be honest. My lass is staying at her parents now, she's off work. She had a seizure on Thursday morning, dropped on the floor in the process and smashed her teeth out and fractured her jaw.

She's out of hospital and recovering well and yesterday she got fillings put in to rebuild what was lost in her two front teeth but there's still teeth that need to be replaced with denture type things. I've left her in her mothers care last night so I can go back to work, but I'm not at work... I don't feel right going back yet when she's in a state.

She's had two seizures before two years ago and both were in my care, thankfully she got a soft landing but she was still in a bad state, this time she fell on a wooden floor and should you know the story by now.

In case people don't know, seizures can kill someone from how or where they fall or the seizure itself can be so prolonged it can caused permanent brain damage, simply getting a migraine can be a trigger. She can't drink wine anymore and it's unsafe for her to fly after a certain amount of time and she can't drive anymore. So her mam and me will have to drive her around.

FOTEPX, well done for being petty and judgemental and not reading the post I left, or the other I have posted on the forum. You've collectively made yourself look like an ass.
Anyway I can't really back out now when I'm working on something under the Official Robot Wars Franchise now can I?

Right...
Well, I couldn't sleep last night considering what's been happening so I knocked this up. Also I realise I've never given you all an idea of how the graphics are being improved. The problem is that the arenas don't quite look as good as the robots.

Thanks again everyone.

I think that the nerdy state of some of the roboteers would need ironing out. Make the most confident member of the team do the talking and not the quietest team member otherwise the show gains a poor reputation and won't attract more publicity. rehearsing lines would help.

As mentioned the presenter would need to have enthusiasm when needed but for god sake don't seem obsessed. A comedian who can joke about something that the kids would find funny on one level, but from a small innuendo the adults would find it more entertaining. I don't know if anyone noticed Craig's adult jokes in the early days as they were so sly but... That made it entertaining for the adults. Battlebots did it too obviously and frankly the jokes were a little bit... Too far and too obvious. Mind the two presenters thing is something I think works.

Jimmy Carr I think would tick half the boxes but he's probably not quite loud enough for it. Russell Howard would be brilliant but I think presenting such a show would be out of comfort zone... But then again imagine David Attenborough doing it!

As for commentary, John Pearce is brilliant at commentating football but I think he just has no idea how to react with robot wars battles. He's either too enthusiastic/amused or not enough.

Teams need to be prepared to have a joke made at their expense to entertain viewers, they were too sensitive in the early series and then the rare ones were too depressive in the later series.

As for the arena, with the standard of robots today, anything more than what the robot wars live arenas have today would be a damn joke. Externally positioned CPZs would be idea too I think, much like the one in today's Robots Live arena, or the RW games Oil Rig arena. Filming.... They'd need Go Pros, more pyros. An arena wall design that doesn't give flippers nor spinner an advantage... So maybe just two flip out zones.

Personally I don't think it will make it back on the Air. A proper internet show with more effort out into it I think will work. But obviously investments will have to be made. Combots was good but the presenting style wasn't brilliant, neither was lighting and the music could've have been edited more and as much as I love drum and bass, they needed more suitable music.

Mind saying this, if that new robot boxing show can reel in enough viewers then maybe a new robot combat show can do so too, but it will need a lot of investing.
