Custom Components Showcase / Re: Galacticruler's Noob-case« on: December 29, 2013, 06:52:52 AM »
K fine.
1. Too much empty space is bad because you could easily fit everything you currently have into a way smaller chassis. 2. Piglet drives are bad because these are geared for spinning weapons, not wheels. 3. Inward facing drive motors hinder the turning circle of the robot slightly due to the lower distance between the two wheels. 244

There isn't supposed to be stock parts in DSL 2.1 though. They're supposed to be hidden.
Also, I'm fairly sure the Cold Fusion reactors were supposed to weigh 100kg each. 245

I'm not even going to criticise the other robots, but Updraft? Let me just list 5 of the problems there are:
1. Way too much empty space. 2. Piglet drives. 3. Inward facing drive motors. 4. There is 25kg left for maxing out the bot. Use it. 5. You don't need CO2 for Burst Motors. Unless the other members here are going to reveal your other mistakes, fix these first. You're gonna need a hell out of a lot of work to become a better builder. 247
Contests / Re: BOTM Ideas and Discussion« on: December 28, 2013, 11:01:02 AM »
Simple thing to get the ball rolling again: Why not simply make the next BOTM a free-for-all type thing? No rules, just submit whatever the hell you want. Failing that, why not an extended deadline, or other incentives such as a badge system similar to RA2's kill points, which indicates how many BOTMs you've participated in.

My bot should be sent.
EDIT: Oh wait I'm an idiot. It uses a modified bot height. Isn't much of a problem for me as I can just enter an older version. 249

Most of my robots that I "spent hours carefully positioning components to make it more efficient" took a whole 10-30 minutes out of my day.Sure, Lightning Hands McGee. 251

If it isn't too late, I would like my setup to be the drum. It just didn't work out in RNP.

Thanks man. I believe I owe an apology to KOS, as he would've continued, but a competition's a competition.

I wish for SKBT to explain his points. I knocked off a wheel, pushed him around for most of the match and got him almost dead in the arena. An 8-7 I can understand, but not a 12-3. The only thing I can think of is that he mistook the bots. There's no way in hell that's right.

Tournament Archives / Re: Battlebots 8 SBV« on: December 27, 2013, 10:44:04 AM »Complaining about this will only give AS more "firepower" in his fight against IRL. Look in his showcase, the bot that defeated yours was a point of ridicule for him.QFT. As soon as he lost BB6 0-4 with his NFM inspired bots that were actually pretty decent, that's the point he just dismissed the entire building style as crap. When me and a couple others called him out on Chocolate, he built "a more realistic version", which was simply a DSL-S bot. The only problem is, he's been around too long to actually accept the criticism, and just plays it for laughs. No point complaining, just let him dig a bigger and bigger hole. AS is the only reason I'm even building Standard bots now, it's not my cup of tea but to become one of the "pro builders", you have to. Otherwise, you're called autistic and whatnot, which is kind of weird being as we're not the ones spending hours carefully positioning components to make it more efficient. Spoiler: Things I sort of care about. 257

Well there was a Minibot of Wild Thing, which is more than can be said for robots such as BattleBots Hazard, a robot that won its own division THREE TIMES and didn't get a SINGLE piece of merchandise made after it.
