Has there been any talk of allowing Madiaba's .1 KG Smartzones for the weight and or the shapes?
I was packaging up my entry and noticed it had the Mad Smartzone as part of helping to standardize it in Starcore v4 Pack.
Would be a royal pain to send it in and be rejected for using a non-standard smartzone. The Bot Parts are Stock. Had just used the Smartzone we had discussed allowing for Stock AI in the forums.
Please let me know before I send in. Would rather not be disqualified for sending in an improper bot.
Thanks,
Starcore
P.S. My other choice for a sit and spinner is to put 4 Large Smart Zones at North, South, East, and West for an over head of 8KG and would still leave detection gaps. That or switch to another bot.

Adding 32 more slots is not necessarily 32 more contestants. I don't think there are that many more that would jump in.
I declared early that I was interested that I wanted to be involved but had planned on sending in my bot during the last week based on work and life load.
If the tournament is full at 32 so be it. Let me know if there is room for me to send in an entry. If not have fun everyone....

Someone want to let System32 know that we discussed in these forums not penalizing AI bots of keeping in their weight class due to the 2KG overhead of placing Smartzones.
I gave these forums the option of either forcing bots to take the penalty and stay 2KG under the weight limits when needing a Smartzone or allowing them to exceed the limit by the amount of the Smartzone and the active members of the the timel voted to prefer and allow the exceeding.
This problem is why I asked Mad and ACAMS to finish the Zero Weight Smartzones for inclusion in Starcore 4 so we don't have to listen to the naive or ignorant b*tch about AI bots that push the weightclass limits due the 2KG overhead of Smartzones.
I don't appreciate getting b*tched (even gentle b*tching) at in PMs when I make suggestions of how improve bots for inclusing in the pack. If people don't like the way I have done things they can go make their own packs. Over the years and at every step of the way I have but things to vote of this community, explained my views and taught through articles and diverse examples. I would like to think I have maintained some of the highest ethics and standards in this community. More then once I have pulled this community back together when it was at each others throats. I have probably done more for helping people and showing the way to making better bots and packs across the years then just about anyone in RA2. My decisions have never been "silly". Should I have to tolerate being shrugged off when making suggestions for improvement?
If System32 or anyone doesn't want to heed my suggestions, then they don't need to submit bots for inclusion. Makes me wonder why I even try...

I would like to register for this tourny. I know I need to send my AIed bot to Clickbeetle. So just declaring desire and intent here and will be sending the bot to Click.

STP in this context is Stop the Presses to I would hazard to guess that STDP is Stop the Digital Presses.

Aren't they all dizzy? :)
On a more serious note. Thank you. Looking forward seeing it and the other bots people have updated. I know year by year we are all getting more sophisticated and the bots more powerful.

3KG can be valuable, especially in the AW range.
Have you done a rebuild or just stewing on better ways to set things up?

Thank you guys! You have the right attitude that this pack is by the community for the community.
Supportive and looking forward to seeing the rebuilds!

Last two i have done.
(Image removed from quote.) UPGRADES- Weapons have higher hp. Black batt instead of nifty. I don't like the non-centerness of the spinners. I might rebuild this one.
(Image removed from quote.) UPGRADES-8 razors instead of 4. 2 blacks. I do like your upgrades over all and yes I would prefer the spinners be centered for the first upgrade. Not all bots need to be symetrical but this one seems a likely candidate to keep that flair and flavor

I agree Scrap Daddy, there are other LW bots that would be improved by replacing with Trebuchet.

Castle Guard was behind the curve as a Twack Bot so yes I looked for a strong replacement. I helped tune H.A.N.N.A.H to be strong LW VS and named it Trebuchet.
Could name it something like Centurian if Castle Guard is not good enough but yes on coming back on the scene I have considered replacing Castle Guard with some form of Tiny Trinity as being more appropriate replacement for the relatively ancient Twack Bot.
One of the goals of the Starcore Packs has been to show a diverse range of bot types across as many weight classes as practical. Twack Bots have limited capabilities so I had considered replacing with a different more competitive style. Thus the consideration of H.A.N.N.A.H
Would love to see your Guardian of the Castle in operation.

Thats why I do an Alpha, to catch and improve. Not all enhancements that people submit are 'better'.
And yes I do like the new UltraViolet (Ultra Violence).

That too normally means the front is not set right for the bot vs the AI expectations. Will check VR Rino as well.

STDP: The BW Mini hunter is facing the wrong way, and runs away from other bots bacause of it. Good catch. Will check and fix. These are the types of fixes we definitely need to catch along the way with improving and replacing this and that. Thanks, Starcore

Here's my summery of bots that Need fixing:
Blander Snatch: Needs two curved hammers, two ploughs and a decent wedge.
Jabberwokky: Final destination reskinned.
Ultraviolet: Nifty, HPZ drive(external) and One piston only. The wedge should be longer and use Razors on the piston, and leave the bottom row as a set of stationary irons. (I also reccomend renaming it to somthing like ULTRAviolence or something.)
Meteor: Add a side hammer, remake those piston hammers.
NWB: I'll admit is IS very good, bot The chassis should be fixed to gain weight to spend. then spent said weight on some side armour. Glad to see what you have in mind for Bandersnatch. Rejected was one to spend a bit of chassis weight to look cooler. Especially when the difference was not enough to make any real difference. I was always a fan of pixel lean minimal often boxy designs because I too was looking to trim as much weight and target area as I could. Rejected kept challenging me to be more artistic... Here is a bit of trivia on Ultraviolet: There was a rather famous Poker bot back when named Deep Blue. I felt I could make a better version so I made the Deeper Blue aka Ultraviolet. Works for me to update him/her and update the name to Ultraviolence though it was also a cool 2006 movie with Milla Jovovich. This bot was named before that movie came out. Starcore

Well AI can run the motors at lower percentage easy enough. But you would need to work on stability and balance. The bot looks like a great alternative for Jabberwock but yes it needs to be combat worthy to take on the role and title.

I suppose it's more difficult than beefing up both of the throttle and turnspeed values...
I'd like to have a try at Cideous. I looked at beefing up of throttle and turnspeed values for Borg Queen in the Bindings.py and they were already set to max+. Since she moves fast enough in the Garage and not in Arenas I am more suspecting other factors. Going to start with a not too painful rebuild that lowers the motors down one notch to increase ground clearance. That usually induces wobble but might be needed in this case. As to Cideous, that is not an easy bot to improve but glad to see how you do. Starcore

I agree about how slow she is when AIed and in actual arenas. She is fast enough in the Bot Garage so I am looking into what is wrong.
