Why aren't there more black guys in robot combat? Like the only guys I've seen is the dude with dreads in the Demolisher team and one dude in Robotica who had this cool ass bot that got beaten in the fight to the finish. Like wtf man, is this sh** like hockey or something?
Without getting too political, it requires a large amount of disposable income.

Quicksand went 1-2. I think I might've toggled a power saver mode on my remote, because the robot was acting real sluggish despite no visible faults in its components. Overall it was a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to Robogames

Yep, spinners are A-ok. I guess battlebots came out of nowhere. They informed some teams before the official annunce and the others had enough time and money to build a new HW.
Greg and Trey have been trying to get it back for a really long time, they just didn't have any news till they got a bite. I don't know if you recall, but there was a rumor back in 2012 that James Cameron was bringing back Battlebots - turned out the rumor was semi-true, Greg and Trey were having conversations with him about it, but it never came to fruition.
