alright.
I was building a caster armored bottom HS/rammer hybrid, but then I realized it would be useless with that weight limit. So i'm just gonna go popup. Boring, I know.

you gotta make a normal tournament instead of a display tournament, man.

How good are axle wedges to be exact? I've never really seen them often.
I have no idea. I just put them so when I am climbing the ramp, I don't have my static wedge up in the air and I don't get outwedged too easily. Same deal if I am first and if my wedge protrudes from the top of the KotH. Come to think of it, I am unsure about this wedge...

so i built something for thyrus's tournament. it is of course built while partly drunk I may just change that weapon+extender, i would enter a simple flipper but 1- it's boring 2- it's not original 3- it's not manly. It is called Manly Flipper due to being a weaponed flipper and therefore being more manly than a standard flipper, and yes I believe either flipper or HS can do best on a KotH arena. NPC fasts of course, double wedge for outwedging in a noticeably non-flat arena, 3mm plastic (maybe i'll go to 1mm titanium, I don't like 1mm plastic due to being somewhat unrealistic) and yes thyrus i have changed the poor wiring. I don't think I'm gonna rebuild it, maybe changing a few components and probably weakening armor. add more batteries because i think it may be underpowered.

To make good walkers we need slow, very strong burst motors. And stronger extenders as well.
So we should add that to DSL.

Designwise it is much better than your former bots.
How much ground clearance does it have ? Because if it has standard ground clearance (aka very low) it's gonna get stuck on the arena ramps.
Also a single mag snapper on a HW flipper ? You are kidding right ? I also entered a flipper (well, weaponed flipper) in there and it has three large JX's.
I feel you are also adding random stuff to fill up to the weight limit. A few spikes there and here are fine for coolness, but you have about 70 kg of components that will not help your bot. Maybe more.
Building with flippermakers is very fragile and will result in your bot losing parts very quickly when you are faced with a decent weapon. Also 15kg titanium sheets are equally as fragile.
I also really like Velocity's design BUT you made that skin in a hurry and by Armok, it shows. Make it better.

I get it that walkers are made to be cool, but why HAMMER walkers ? You have no traction at all and cannot position yourself, which is very important for a hammer.
It's like making a rammer walker.
If I would build a walker (well, I've had one in my showcase but it didn't work) I would either go full artbot, or go HS.

And so the Forward input is wired to flame. The backward input can be let empty.

Honestly I fail to see the point of this. This new building style you are speaking about is basically DSL-S with a few tiny changes, but since it follows the same basis as DSL-S it is DSL-S in all but name. Naming it differently won't make it different. No need to make a new building style if it is basically a clone of an existing style. I am all for new building styles, but they have to *be* new. I can see that you are trying to make building progress and I can appreciate that, and please do not take my criticism as "no, you are stupid and wrong" but as I explained you are reinventing the wheel. Also DSA is HORRIBLE in dsl, it's actually the worst armor choice in the game. IIRC it's weaker than Plastic 1, while heavier, and Alu 3 is far, far tougher for the same weight. And as I said, no one will follow you in banning DSA from stock. Stock chassis already die in a few hits from good stock weapons, and all components are very fragile. No need to make bots even more fragile by banning DSA. I'd add a clause about excessive spikes or teeth. Non realistic robots are built to exploit the fact that even steel-10 armor can be destroyed if it gets scratched a lot.
That's called "IRL building". Have you seen his rules ? They're DSL-S.

It's a katana, Naryar, but I agree with ya.
No, it is not a katana. No I'm pretty sure Nar's right in that it's a dao. Had 123 not deleted all his threads I could find the image to prove it to you.
Well, when I was drunk I was thinking dao but now for some reason I am thinking it may be a jian. Anyways, less relevant questions aside, the inside of Fox is unrealistic (but that's your choice) and a bit messy. I think you can put the bursts so you can use a bit less weight on extender work. You should also put some slot decals on it for the hammer and the flipper.

-I actually agree with the banning of trov glitch, because ultra-thin chassis parts will just break at the first impact in real life.
And all those unsupported Perm axles are totally not going to just fall down in real life, right? :P
If this is a problem, then just change the normal Perms to the DSL3 perms, which HAVE support. Or edit the perm's visual mesh so that it has support. The perm is assumed to have a stabilizer already. It's just not seen in game for some reason.
