Bah... Not in offense. I must ram with it to do decent damage !

Anyways, here is my first real shell spinner, Hell in a Sheck

24 small DS teeth,1mm plastic armor (but a titanium half sheet and 6 aluminium skirts to protect the baseplate), astroflight drive with hypno wheels (quite fast for a shell spinner), Etek powered shell, one battlepack and two ant batts.

Not tried in combat yet, i will send you battleshots later.

Not that bad for a newbie. I found all these bots cool-looking, i like that messed-up look with irons everywhere. And a newbie using caster armor is pretty much new (excepted for venko who is unnatural)

Just try to avoid:

-redbirds (not efficient),
-small battery packs on heavier than an ant (unefficient too)
-wheels heavier than 18kg (and miniwheels too)
-heavy extender work - just use the round extenders as much as you can.
-showcasing too much SHW's, because most of us don't like this.

And finally go here: http://www.beetlebros.gametechmods.com/ra2techs.htm

Son of the Reaver. Would find a better name though.

Anyways i just wanted to answer to Urjak's ant : Whirlwind

Very fast for a HS, 3mm plastic, but that saw is really weak.

Barely won against Nanowhirl.

Sage... He has 37kg WITHOUT THE BLADE !

EDIT: Urjak, it's a really good bot. I've never beaten Nanowhirl.

You could possibly just use a bigger DSL bar for only weapon, because of possible Mauler dance if you lose one of these razors..

...Be afraid. Be very afraid.

If I don't find many teams for my pack, i would gladly accept the Happy king cat team.

Inf did you find the special AP? in the middle of the halfsheet, there are 2 AP's, one used for attaching to the baseplate.

and for some unknown reason you can't put it under an angled top plate or under very small baseplates.

Discussion / DSL Realistic Rule
« on: November 11, 2008, 03:12:08 PM »
If I connected the front ones with the side ones the wedge would suck. Honestly.

I also believe we can use whatever glitch we want (axle loading, eFFeing and snapper loading) on our bot if the result is still realistic.

I don't know for AAM.

Discussion / DSL Realistic Rule
« on: November 11, 2008, 02:32:57 PM »
Here are my ideas for the realistic rule.

First, I'll classify all components in three categories:

STATIC COMPONENT: Component that isn't supposed to move independently from the chassis (unpowered wedges on skirts, static extenders, baseplate anchors, baseplate half titanium sheets, static weapons, etc). Doesn't include powered components. Weapons are static components that make noticeable damage, more than 100 in one blow.

MOVING COMPONENT: Component that is supposed to move independently from the chassis (wheel, spinner, poker weapon, flipper...)

POWER COMPONENT: Motors, batteries, pistons, air tanks and the control board.

____________________

Here are the criteria of the realistic rule:

Static components:

-Can intersect each other, but cannot be stacked especially weapons.

-Can intersect only partially a moving component. Can't intersect if the moving component would completely cut the static component (see Hope No More). Weapons can only partially intersect moving components.

-Can intersect power components excepted for weapons.

Moving components:

-Can't intersect other moving components unless the two moving components are static compared to each other (case of obZen's razors)
.
-Can't intersect power components. (like Raptor digging his hammer into the black batt it has at the front)

Power components:

-Can't intersect other power components (no battery stacking, notably)

The same applies for component groups, e.g. a moving component group (complete spinner weapon) can intersect a static component group (multiple skirts) if none of the static components aren't completely intersected (see rule 2 of static components).

________

The rule is not perfectly strict and a moving component can barely touch a power component.

I think it's all. Comments and critics welcomed.

And do we really need to enter the same bot for all tournaments?

Because i difficultly see a bot that will succeed in all of them.

This is indeed going WILD.

Wham i'll just suggest making a "super tournament" like ELBITE (classic deathmatch tournament, rumble tournament, and team battle tournament) if you want to go like that. But no need to the same chassis setup rule.

... oh and who's my friend here?

I think you can use different bots for classic tournament and rumble?

Also I'd like to know the rumble's arena.

Double magmotor.

And for the first time i attached the blade and one of the wheels in IV 2.0 via axle loading made with a piston, but it's still realistic.

They both need to have their wedges refined that said.

I completely agree with R0B0, and i would add that stock style wedges (attached on burst motors) are very good if well built.

Maybe, but if the side wedges fall and not the front ones, then it has a problem with your realistic rule.

I will build another version because it has empty space, and i must use plastic in GUMBA. also change weapons, possibly to beater bars

EDIT: I just rebuild Interventionism 2.0.

First try (was driven by me, but like an AI)

H@zm47 if you want it just ask.

EDIT2:

5th rebuild of my 8-month-old LW sawbot.
