Hmph. Yes, my memory seems to be betraying me.
The IRL building style deliberately ignores efficiency to make a bot look like a real life one, spams fail weapons everywhere (but not too much !!1!!!1one!) and generally makes awful fighters.
I don't ignore efficiency.
That's news to me. Skidmark is a good example of a IRL realistic but still effective robot.
That's because it's a drum. And two DSL components has been specifically designed for drums to be both entirely realistic and damaging.
I will agree, not all IRL realistic bots are unefficient. Just anything that isn't a spinner.
The problem with IRL is that it has invaded the showcases, and I bet plenty of people build IRL because they have not the skill to build otherwise. It's not the case of the best IRL builders ala Virus Bomb or Scrap, obviously, but still.
Some people are forgetting what efficiency means, and are starting to think think a bot is good only on looks and on closeness to real life building. It doesn't help that most of the top builders have stopped posting in showcases (123, Ounce, Pwn, etc).
Maybe 123 is right. Maybe DSL realistic has reached a maxima in building and no progress is being made since a good half-year.
'Tis not a reason to abandon things. I am back into building now, and I can assure you I'm gonna change things.

Not too bad. Might be better if it was invertible, but you'd need to rearrange the SnapperII for that.
I reckon M-12 might be a more poignant name for it, though. =D
making invertible = can't be arsed because i'm too lazy/don't have the motivation to do it. And i'm making a vietnam war team and this is the middleweight, so the name kinda fits. :P

that's what i was thinking as well. The only thing is that glitching the wheel motor and wep motor on the same extender is a pain in the rear. It took me like 30 minutes to do the first time. Ohwell. Maybe i'll have some free time later today to fix it up and maybe put a snowplow on the front and downgrade the drive motors.

omigosh 2 bots in 2 days that must be some kind've record for me:   Has about 12 maces, dsa, one black, and i would have cut down on the space but the grid line doesn't like to be that thin. ohyea it has hp ztek drive and wep motors.
