Alright then... AW BW LW MW CW HW SHW UHW +30% 173 227 325 520 790 1000 1560 6500 +20% 150 210 300 480 720 960 1440 6000 +15% 144 201 288 460 690 920 1380 5750 +10% 138 193 275 440 660 880 1320 5500 normal 125 175 250 400 600 800 1200 5000 -10% 113 158 225 360 540 720 1080 4500 -20% 100 140 200 320 480 640 960 4000 -25% 94 131 188 300 450 600 900 3750
there, I now wonder if it will be too much of a difference in the higher weight classes ? Although -25% is really only for crawlers, so not that much.

i think this is more important as a list of members than as a list of members by nation...
plenty of members are now inactive i guess.
Also some nonames have been included and i still don't know why.

I think this was touched in the past (maybe one of Craaig's tournaments), but how about a ruleset for tournaments that changes the weight limit according to what bot type you enter ? So hammers stop sucking, and popups/HS/DSL SnS stop killing everything else. Or at least these tendencies are lowered.
example:
for DSL
Hammer, Clamp : +20% weight Side hammer, Poker: +10% weight (not sure about side hammer bonus honestly...) most designs: weight unchanged Flipper (includes weaponed flipper): -10% if arena with OOTA/pits, +20% if closed arena HS, SnS, Popup, Juggler: -10% weight Crawler : -25%
for Stock Clamp : +30% (even more fragile than in DSL) Hammer, Sawbot : +20% Poker : +15% (uses even more space than in DSL) Side hammer : +10% Flipper: No bonus if OOTA arena/arena with pits, if closed arena without pits : +20% (flipper arms are very, very fragile) Anything else : no change HS, Popup, Juggler : -10% Crawler: -20% (more fragile than in DSL)
For hybrids: average out. if it's really a HS with 2 razors attached to make it a so called rammer hybrid, then go with the -10% HS malus.
in case the tournament uses multiple arenas, the flipper bonus is determined only by the arena used in the first 2 rounds.
For numbers: average out to the closest entire number. and if this is accepted i'll gladly do a table of modified weights by bonus and by weightclass because i can see why people will not want to do math to get a weight limit.
tell me what you think about it.
edit: maybe it will be simpler to give numerical bonuses, and one per weightclass, not percentages ?

this is making me think of a rebalanced stock pack.
Maybe them batteries need to have very high electotal. At least the small one; the supervolt i'm not so sure, because it will mean people will use less supervolts in total.

HS/rammer hybrid (any weightclass) VS/FS/rammer triple hybrid (HW or more) vertical clamp (any weightclass)

Why do I get the feeling that this forum is quiet without me? Haven't been around for couple days and there isn't much new stuff going on.
You're wrong, don't worry.
You're lying to me. I'm away for couple days and I already miss this place. Also back when the forum used to be active, there were at least 3 full pages filled with new posts in threads. Now when I'm away for couple days, there ain't even 1,5 full pages with new posts.
Forum activity has decreased compared to the last week, that is all.

So, what's your stance about IRL priorities ? By that I mean what do you look most forward to when building an IRL bot, and what of these goals are more important.
Here's mine:
First - Build something that looks good Second - Build an interesting design Third - Building efficiency Fourth - Build something that could work IRL and not fall down Fifth - Combat efficiency Sixth - Building something that looks like a RL bot (different from the fourth actually, more like replica building)
so basically IRL is mostly DSL-S, with 3 noticeable differences:
-you shouldn't abuse the game's design to win (flails, MORE RAZORS syndrome, 2 heavy plows + 8 flamers, etc) -the most important thing is NOT winning, it's putting on a good show -there are more strict standards about realism (extenders holding spinners in place, no ultrathin components which would break, no exposed motors, no motors halfway outside the chassis, etc.)
there, i'm going to add a poll on what you think is the more important. you can vote twice (pick important and second most important).
And yeah, I'm aware combat efficiency will not go first, i'm just wondering what of cool looks, interesting designs, or "replica building" is more important.

I assume you zoomed because they don't look THAT different from each other in weightclass terms...

Apparently I was needing more sleep that I thought. Oh well, I'll get drunk today/tomorrow then. flipper/sns hybrid gogoogog
2easy
make it part hammer then too aka clamp/sns
yea i can do that Flipper/Popup
easiest hybrid ever ? complex trinity spinner / popup
should be doable.

alright, drinking and more importantly building drunk this evening... though I will get some sleep first because i'm sorely lacking sleep AND alcohol also induces sleep in me (that's why I didn't build marty's EASY build back then, yes i know it was unmanly :S ). So there's that.
VS/juggler (though i'm pretty sure i did one already, maybe I should do a triple hybrid out of this one) and LW wammer/SnS it is. anything else ? poker/hs/fs maybe... i'm not sure it will be too interesting

considering the medium beaters are never gonna hit the enemy, you can go for a simple, lighter extender.
Or simply snapper load the burst motor's axle out of the chassis, and directly attach the katana to the burst motor.

Blue one is dope. It's also better than the other ones, I feel.

middleweight is underpowered and i believe you can use BSG's for that.

2 is minimum, 3 is a good choice, 4 if you really don't want your battery to weaken. 6 is overkill.
Is it invertible ?

No, the skin is fine. the DESIGN is bland. It's just a 4WD box with a generic weapon. And that here weapon would be fine on a LW, but not a HW.
Make it more interesting, like a rammer/thwack hybrid. Probably you should use 2WD Technos with drive Eteks, because your drive is too weak if it has 4WD NPCF with Tornados like I think it has.
Or you can still go pure thwack, use 2 arms. You can however use a cooler weapon that just 70kg hammers, else people will believe you are entering a DSL-S bot into an IRL tournament.
Admittedly an IRL thwack should look like a DSL-Standard thwack... like drums.
Also where did all your weight go ? Armor ? I'm sure this bot should be 400 kg, maybe 300 kg... but not 800.

Who gives a damn about it not being fully realistic in the game ? Gear belts are a thing.
Also it looks great and that's the most important thing in IRL. (Second most important thing is intredasting designs)

No, I agree with Craaig. The skin is ok but the design in itself is somewhat bland and very weak and I don't believe your idea of fun is entering a bot that will get curbstomped.
IRL may not be all about combat efficiency, but it's still a competition.

They both look original. Also badass
